WEAKNESSES:
Youthful Ignorance of the Galaxy and the harsh reality of the many worlds within it, Karrus is too young and inexperienced to have the same learnings as those that may come to cross paths with the Youngling.
No Training of any kind – The closest resemblance to training in Karrus’ life thus far would be the teachings of in-house schooling by a caring mother, lacking the credentials to offer the boy a better life both in finance and educational means. [Language(s): Galactic Basic, Aurebesh]
Youngling Strength – The strength and muscle capacity of a young boy the age of nine; lacking a healthy diet by cause of no finance and no shelter.
STRENGTHS:
Keen Intellect – Karrus Zorathi is a motivated learner when he is able to put his mind and heart to something he feels a strong connection for or can identify as a hobby or likeable task.
Youngling stamina – For a child nearing his first decade of life, he holds an agile physique. With no credits in the family for the flash technologies of the upper class persons, Karrus has spent his days in enjoyment alongside his brother Zarack, who both tend to like finding themselves within mischievous situations among the lower levels of their home-world.
APPEARANCE:
Karrus is a scruffy looking kid, having been raised in the lower economical standard. His hair and face are often dirtied and his clothes are tattered and worn in places most common (Knees, elbows, midsection).
He holds no tattoo’s/markings of any kind.
BIOGRAPHY:
Karrus and Zarack; their story is nothing original to the many billions of inhabitants within the great expanse that we know and refer to as the known galaxy. The two boys were birthed seven years apart, brought up my their mother whom loved them more than she could herself and an absentee father who spent their younger years working his life away being fed an under-the-table pay that could barely provide the four of them a week’s earnings and a roof over their heads; eventually turning his back on his family and leaving them to fend for themselves in the hopes of finding a better life of his own.
Blissfully ignorant and to young to understand, Karrus came to accept their fathers leave and instead focused his attention on the things that made him happy, the small pleasures in life that a child can draw to even when all else seems dark around him; playing his older brother.
As the pair grew and their mother deteriorated in health, Zarack never spoke of their father and his temperament for the world grew very resentful. Around the pair there seemed families, children who had little a worry in their lives yet Zarack had been forced to work part-time for his families up-keep and often resorted to petty theft just to offer them an evening supper. The apple truly hadn’t fallen so far from the tree and Zarack silently cursed their father for his fate in life.
Life on Eriadu continued to gnaw away at the remaining three and their mother quickly fell into a depression, Zarack into a bad crowd and Karrus feeling a little isolated away from the both of them struggling to understand why his older brother had pulled away from him so. He eventually chose to follow Zarack one late evening during one of his brothers many “jobs” hoping to make him proud of Karrus by proving that he can be like Zarack and help their mother by earning credits together.
Something had been horrible missed amidst Karrus’ understanding of his older brother. He’d watched from afar as Zarack and a couple of his would-be friends had entered a residence which strangely looked like it was occupied. From the outside, he could not hear the blaster fire over the top of the low flying speeders that followed the trafficking lanes and it wasn’t until his brother stumbled out of the building being supported by his friends who looked a little hurt too that Karrus realized he’d made a mistake.
Zarack spotted him first yet one of the other two were quick to catch on and not wanting any witnesses, asking no questions and offering no conscience, prepared to shoot the young boy. Karrus let out a horrified yell as he saw the blaster lift in the rodians hands, his arms covering his face as if to save himself and as the blaster sounded off, the shot never hit him. Instead there was a scuffling of feet, a series of grunts and a final cry as the two fell to the floor and Zarack was left standing over them, looking back at his brother in anger. He had killed his friends to save Karrus and then fled the scene.
It was fear that kept Karrus from following and it was the sirens that rang overhead that made him worry for his brother. Soon enough the E-SEC (Eriadu Security) found their way to the scene of the crime and though Karrus wasn’t found guilty, he was forced to recall the events before a group of strangers that did little but intimidate him. Zarack they explained, had been part of a street gang and had been wanted in affiliation with several violent home invasions over the months prior to the incident. His older brother had fled, looking to escape custody leaving Karrus behind. With the authorities in contact with the family, it was decided that his mother wasn’t fit for parenthood and taken into a housing corp in order to rehabilitate herself into the working world.
When they tried to take Karrus with the intent of fostering the child, his courage found him first and he fled from the social workers, running into the streets. Unable to understand why it all had to be this way, unable to understand why people were so mean, his eyes were about to be opened to how cruel a place the galaxy could really be and just how tough it meant to survive on the streets of Eriadu; alone.
THE AWAKENING:
Fate or perhaps something greater would see to it that Karrus Zorathi manage to escape the world of Eriadu following an incident gone foul when the local enforcement botched what was supposed to be a normal transition into foster care; his brother having fled with a price of fifty thousand on his head, his mother mentally ill and unfit for social undertaking; the boy of such a young age was forced to find solace in a girl Alysara, street smart and willing to help him find sanctuary for the night. While they thought they might have caught a break, the girl now involving herself in unlawful activity to try and help a fellow street rat, the Galactic Alliance Military as well as arguably the most convenient arrival of both the Silver Sanctum and the Covenant of the Black Rose some how found the two children and in an unprecedented conflict, butted heads with the members of their opposition. Amongst the confusion, he and Alysara chose to trust in the Jedi Ryn'Dhal; escorting them both to Voss to which he would spend his first two years learning about the Force and all things available for a youngling Jedi.
Karrus Zorathi lost contact with Alysara and Ryn'dhall over those two years, along with his former Jedi Mentor [member="Teynara Jeralyr"], of whom was requested to pursue other demands of the Jedi way of life. This disconnection with those he thought were his friends and people he could trust ultimately swayed him away from the Jedi teachings that spoke of emotional attachments, the dangers and the importance's of keeping ones self neutral unto others; Karrus soon plotted to leave the Jedi Academy, travelling to another nearby unfamiliar system by smuggling himself aboard a local transit vessel.
[member="Alexandra Feanor"], she was a person that had found him on the streets of the world unknown to him, who bothered to take a moment to lend an ear and have a quiet conversation with a child who so clearly belonged to no one nor had a great deal going for him in the daylight hours. Wary of strangers and especially those offering an unusual and rarely free sense of compassion, it was her unusual pet Daeda that initially broke the ice enough so to drop his guard and spend the moment talking about themselves and their take on life in the grand expansive galaxy. She was a member of the Order of the Grey, and not just a member but rather the Grandmaster of the Order which apparently meant she lead the group; they were force users and alike Karrus, they wished to learn, train and experience the Force not for the emphasis on the Light or the Dark, but the whole. It sounded more and more appealing the more he learned and though he was reluctant, he had little else keeping him on the foreign world with only good things to come his way should he follow. So as every child would do in his position, he became her Apprentice and hasn't looked back since.
