B I O G R A P H Y
Kara Dur was born on the homeworld of the Kel Dor, Dorin. Shortly after her fifth birthday, her Force sensitivity was discovered by the Baran Do Order that resided on Dorin. But instead of having the young child join them, the soothsayers of the Baran Do would direct her to the Jedi Order instead. Deciding to follow their guidance, Kara's parents would bring her to the legendary peacekeepers
During her youth, the Kel Dor girl proved herself a gifted student, using scientific fields of study to deepen her understanding of the Force. Her unique and down to earth approach to the ethereal made her one of the top students of her year. It came as no surprise that, during the final tournament, Kara was among the first few picked as padawans.
Under the watchful eye of a master, Kara's training continued. She participated in some small scale battles, dogfights and relief aid as she learned the Jedi way by her master's side. Just a few months before her Knight Trials, Kara Dur would be given the orange-bladed lightsaber of a dear friend and fellow Padawan through a Concordance of Fealty. She permanently held on to the saber after the untimely death of her friend, who got fatally wounded during a failed attempt at peace negotiations in Wild Space. Kara was still struck by grief at the time of her Trials, but she nevertheless passed the difficult test of her skill, and was elevated to the rank of Jedi Knight.

P E R S O N A L I T Y
Kara Dur is an intelligent and observant individual, who tries to put her broad knowledge to use whenever possible. Like many of her species, she has the tendency to see moral issues in black and white. It more often than not clashes with her take on Jedi philosophy, which she holds in extremely high regard. Her devotion to the Order and the Code could almost be considered dogmatic, and her faith in the Light Side of the Force is unwavering. She is by no means overconfident and fully blinded by her beliefs, as she takes a cautious and patient approach to most situations.
Her concern with all forms of lie stems not only from her Jedi philosophy, but also her understanding of physics, biology and chemistry. She is kind and friendly, but her sometimes distant and almost alien behavior can be offsetting to some.

P O W E R S--&--A B I L I T I E S
Her advanced Jedi training and regular exercises have kept her in peak physical condition. With flexible joints, impressive reaction times and great stamina, Kara is easily able to keep up with most opponents in physical combat. She may not be able to trade blow for blow in a contest of pure physical strength, but Kara still packs quite a punch. Although this is often at her own expense.
Kara Dur is no stranger to lightsaber combat, and has taken a fair amount of times to blend the different Forms in a reliable combat style. Having studied the Forms Ataru and Makashi, she relies on her stamina, deft bladework and graceful evasions to misdirect her opponents and seize control. Due to the her heightened reflexes as a Kel Dor, and mastery of Force speed, she is able to capitalize on even the smallest of windows.
Her lightsaber techniques, however, are not the strongest tools at her disposal. Her studies of both scientific phenomenons and the Force have shaped her into a very able Consular, excelling in the fields of mental manipulation and energy manipulation in particular. Over the years, she has developed considerable skill with tutaminis, already being able to harmlessly dissipate the energy of a stun bolt this early in her Jedi career.
While she much prefers to employ her mastery of the Force for subtlety and misdirection whenever possible, it does not mean that she is incapable of throwing weight around. Kara Dur can release devastating bursts of kinetic energy when necessary, influence small to moderate groups with her telepathic prowess and even slip into difficult trances. Also, while no true master of these techniques, she has notable experience with the Curato Salva abilities to somewhat make up for her frail body.

Kara Dur's equipment usually consists of her carefully crafted green lightsaber, her backup orange lightsaber, a holoprojector, comlink, a standard fibercord with magnetic grappling hook and a small med pack. To further increase her survivability on long and straining missions, she carries three small energy capsules and three food capsules with her.
