Character
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION
Kallan sports Medium-Length dark hair, rich Umber brown eyes, and a fair skin tone; all of which stand in stark contrast to many others of his species, where white hair and eyes are a predominant trait. Physically, he is in his prime - a well defined musculature forged by a childhood with heavy focus on martial ability and strength. A fierceness is often displayed in the depths of his eyes that gives homage to the family he was born into. He has no significant scarring from training with various weapons, however the very bones that piece him together are a story of his dedication and commitment with innumerable damages that have long since healed. His bones are, quite literally, the story of his past and the whispers of his future.

PERSONALITY AND BELIEFS
Despite an initial first impression of silent anger/intimidation, Kallan is quite kind and compassionate to those who have earned his trust and respect. When a problem presents itself to him, he will take the time to think through the best course of action before acting. There also exists, woven within his very core, a volatile anger that often rears its head when those he cares most deeply for are under threat. He is a fierce protector of people and things that he deems as friend or family and on the same side of that coin, he is a staunch adversary against those he deems his enemies - or a threat to himself and those close to him. Kallan is a soul that burns for those he cares for and he will do anything in his power to ensure their safety, even if it is at his own detriment. He does not subscribe to the beliefs of the Jedi or the Sith - the dichotomy of Light and Dark, instead believing that everyone shares the same propensity for great acts of good or evil, driven by motives hidden beyond what can be seen by one's own eyes. It is this very belief upon which Kallan has rooted himself and it is by this belief that he judges those he comes into contact with. He has great faith in his beliefs and his convictions shine through in every choice that he makes, being visible in his clear lack of doubt and uncertainty. He does not allow the view of others color his own perception, instead happily remaining in the grayscale filter that he has chosen to see the the world in.
Where there exists confidence and surety there also exists fear though he often refuses to succumb to it. His greatest fear is that he would lose his younger sister as he had his other sisters and brothers. He fears the idea of being unable to leave a lasting legacy behind that would guarantee the future of his family and even his own children, should he have them some day.
STRENGTHS
Confidence: Kallan is very confident in the decisions that he makes and the actions that he takes due to the thought that he puts behind each and every one. It is not often that he has felt the parasitic touch of doubt or indecision. His confidence has served to strengthened the roots upon which he has built his life. It has often seen him through his fair share of troubles and just as often gotten him into those very troubles.
Martial Skill: Having been trained since the first moment he could wield a weapon, Kallan is quite adept in the use of most melee weaponry as well as unarmed combat. He is most certainly not the greatest fighter the galaxy has seen, but neither is he one of the worst. His years of tutelage under his, now deceased, father and brothers saw him grow into one of the better fighters in his family - though he never held the desire to further sharpen that training via a career in the military.
Grayscale: Kallan's disbelief in the concept of Good and Evil, has enabled him to see beyond the heavily skewed views and look to the person residing beneath the exterior of those that he meets. It is with this vision that he makes his judgments and often finds it very easy to form friendships with those that are traditionally labeled as "Good" or "Evil" in equal measure and without reservation until given reason to reevaluate his judgments.
WEAKNESSES
Family: Family is one of the most important things in Kallan's life and due to his loss of a great many family members to the violence of the Galaxy at large, he find himself easily subdued, if not outright controlled by the very threat on their lives. He will do everything in his ability to ensure their survival, even at the cost of his own convictions and beliefs. It is fair to note that he will first do everything he can to prevent danger from coming to them in the first place, including keeping the fact that he does have surviving family members a secret from any except those in the closest rings of his circle.
Anger: When roused to anger, Kallan is often subject to explosive rage and the red tinged view of hatred. He finds himself to be quite destructive and in his anger often has random bursts of Force ability that weakens him due to the amount of emotion and power flowing through him in that moment. He has not quite learned how to control such anger or power as of yet and often feels and fears the touch of the madness that threatens to engulf him whenever he succumbs to it.
Apprentice: Kallan has had no formal training in the force or what it means to have access to the powers that the Force gives those that are attuned to it. He is largely naive to what it is on a deeper level. He has learned what little he does know in his travels among the distant stars of the galaxy, through word of mouth and reading. He is searching for a teacher that shares in his own beliefs as he does not wish his own to be subject to the taint of Jedi or Sith philosophy.
HISTORY
Edessa
'Triumph'
Kallan was born into a wealthy militaristic family that claimed ownership of several of the largest diamond mines that littered the planet of Arkania. Upon his birth, it was discovered that he did not share in the same physical traits as that of his other family members. Where an Arkania should have white hair and white eyes, Kallan was born with ebony colored hair and umber colored eyes. It was because of the differences in himself that his family often subjected him to the hardest daily tasks, they knew what life would be like in the elitist society that the Arkanian people were known for - they were supposed to be the superior species after all. There was talk in his younger years of subjecting him to genetic enhancement in order to give him the ideal traits that would allow him to share in the trademark appearance of other members of his species - he did not allow such a thing to occur. Kallan enjoyed the adversity he faced due to the differences that he had, it molded him into a much stronger child than many others within his family.
In the adversity that he faced, he found his own strength and in that strength he found confidence - a force that would become a defining part of himself and enable him to accomplish a great many things that he otherwise, perhaps, would not have been able to. He always had to train harder, hit faster, move quicker, to keep himself ahead of the superiority of his own people, most of whom subjected themselves to cybernetic enhancement to maintain "superiority" over the "lesser species". He never subscribed to that ideology. He felt that he was no better or lesser than anyone else due to species, instead relying on making his judgments based on combat and losses/victories. It was in this way that he found himself adapting to a more 'Gray' outlook on the world, refusing to descend too far onto either side of the ideology spectrum.
This outlook often enabled him to foster friendships with relative ease and despite his unusual appearance, he was often well liked by his peers. He was a happy child for most of his childhood having wanted for nothing under the doting of his mother and father as well as his elder brothers and sisters. He was the youngest of his siblings until his family had one more child, a girl, who they named Serifa. His youngest sister was the centre of his world from the moment she found her way into his arms and squeezed his fingers with her tiny hand. He was the most staunch of defenders in her name, even when the need to defend her stemmed from his own family members. It was in this way that the two became nearly inseparable in nearly every task, challenge, or training that they undertook. The two became extensions of one another, often able to feel each others mood ebb and flow as the days went on, their connection growing with every minute of every day.
It wasn't until a Jedi was visiting the family that Serifa and Kallan were labeled as 'Force Sensitive'. This was the beginning of the end of Kallan's happy childhood as the Jedi offered to take Serifa back to the temple to undergo training in the ways of the Force. It was not an easy thing when Serifa, and his parents, accepted the Jedi's offer and by the next day his sister had left to begin her journey among the stars. Initially, he would receive updates from his sister on her training and what she was learning, but as the years pressed on, the messages from her came less and less until they eventually stopped entirely. He was certain nothing bad had happened to her - his connection to her told him as much. She was likely focusing her efforts on her studies under her new Master, a notion that irritated Kallan to no end. The Jedi had attempted to offer Kallan a place at the temple as well, but both him and his parents knew that the temple would not be the right place for him to grow and come into his own.
After the loss of his youngest sister to the Jedi Temple, it seemed that fate began to move against the F'lare family. Kallan lost three of his eldest brothers in a violent collapse of one of the most bountiful diamond mines that his family owned, followed by losing his remaining sisters in a raid by regional brigands that sought to take the opportunity to disrupt their operations further. They were a military family in an otherwise chaotic galaxy, loss was well known, but for Kallan - the loss of his siblings unlocked a deep rooted fear in himself.
The following years saw Kallan shift into a hardened soldier, devoted to the family and their operations and earned himself a fearsome reputation as defender of his family and their holdings. The brigands that had killed his sisters were eliminated without reservation or mercy, and he had taken great care to leave his devastation of their camp as a message to any others that would seek to threaten his family. In his dedication to his family's protection, he seemed to be able to forget about Serifa for the moment, instead choosing to focus his attentions on the operations of his family's mines and military.
After nearly a decade of watching over his remaining family and their holdings, Kallan become uneasy and restless. There was no explanation for it, but something had deeply unsettled him in his core and there was a call at the edge of his mind telling him that he needed to find his sister. He had not heard from her in nearly eleven years, but his connection to her through the Force had remained firm and powerful. His last update from his parents had informed him that she was no longer under the tutelage of a Master but was a Knight and off on her own - her last location being unknown to them.
So, with his goal in mind of finding his sister and ensuring her safety, Kallan took the first steps into his own journey among the stars, eager to ease the discomfort that he felt within himself and to find the one person who mattered to him more than anyone else...
