Kaleo was pretty happy with the Sith Empire.
Oh, you had to dodge left whenever a Sith came around, but it was a big nation. Not a lot of oversight that deep into the ranks. Perfect role as a corporal. So what if sometimes rations disappeared? What if Kaleo spend more time looting than killing? Maybe he did spend more time where the fight was the thinnest. He still managed to get the job done at the end. Or he claimed he did and nobody could prove otherwise.
Not really a prime candidate to defect, no?
Well, it wasn't really up to him.

's men defected there wasn't a lot of choice. Not that Kaleo thought anyway. Either say yes or probably disappear, before he could rat them out. So what was an enterprising career soldier to do? Exactly. Nod, say yes and hope there will be a moment when he can cut loose and disappear on his own terms.He's still waiting for the moment.
