Rotational Period: 36 hours
Orbital Period: 384 days
Class: Terrestrial
Atmosphere: Type II atmosphere
Climate: Arid.
Gravity: Standard
Primary Terrain: Desert
Native Species: None
Immigrated Species: Humans, Zabraks, now none
Primary Languages: Galactic standart
Government: CIS, none after the end of the Clone Wars
Population: Formerly a settlement of humans and Zabraks, now several still-functionning droids, a Jawa and a Bounty Hunter.
Demonym: Kalaban.
Major Imports: Used to be vital ressources like water and food when the settlers were there.
Major Exports: Used to be ores and crystals when the planet was populated; it was its main source of income when the settlers tried to set up a colony there. The mining equipment is still present, waiting for someone to turn it back on.
Affiliation: Used to be CIS, now none.
Major Locations:
-Stugria's tomb - A mosoleum, made with the rocks and crystals from the planet's depth. A few torches burn brightly on the anniversary of the Sith's death, lit by her daughter. The mosoleum stands out from the barren desert, intimidating, but a welcome sight for an unlucky traveller. In the center of the mosoleum lies the tomb holding the body of Stugria, the three lightsabers of the Jedis she killed forming a triangle around it.
-Jhiaga's bunker - Formerly a destroyed Imperial AT-AT, new passages were built by her ingenuous friend, the Jawa Nuneo Eqeekth, expanding from the carcass of the walker to a large fortified bunker, complete with everything the bounty hunter needs; a training room, an armory, a shooting range, bedrooms, a living room, and a large foundry underneath the structure.
-The Duluhaan observatory - Used by the Republic during the Clone Wars to watch the skies for any intruders in their territory, this observatory is half destroyed by the conflicts who took place upon the planet. Still, it is now occupied by droids reactivated by Nuneo, trying to keep the systems working so that Jhiaga and her jawa friend are informed whenever a ship comes in orbit.
-The various droid factories - The very reason of the various conflicts on the planet. A total of twelve droid factories are hidden on the planet, some underground, some in fortified positions in the desert. While they are deactivated, all they need is the knowledge to turn them back online and the ressources to create more droids, and its owner will have the means to create an army of battle droids. One of these factories have been reactivated by Jhiaga and Nuneo. The CIS had each groups of factories develop different types of droids; six of them made B1 and B2 battle droids, providing the main infantry support, while five of the others provided the Confederacy with Droidekas, Protodekas, AATs, HMP gunships, and OG-9 spider droids. The last factory, whom has been reactivated by the Bounty Hunter and her friend, produced a line of OOM battle droids.
Culture: None.
Technology: Remains of the Clone Wars and the Galactic Civil War litter the soil of the deserts of Kalabesh. This is the only form of technology there.
History:
Kalabesh III has always been a battlefield.
Inhabited by primitive humans for an unknown period of time, the planet was plunged into warfare when the CIS decided to use its large jungles to hide valuable droid factories, mining the world's ressources for their army in the upcoming war with the Galactic Republic. Early on, the Clones were sent to find and destroy the facilities, starting a battle that lasted 9 mounths and 27 days, in which both sides won and lost battles, unable to get the upper hand. Eventually, the droid commander decided to end the conflict and used the ships in orbit to destroy all life on the planet in a violent bombardment. The few clones who had managed to take shelter in the depths of the planet were eventually rooted out, and the CIS affirmed its hold on a now dead world, filled with nothing but a desert.
When the Clone Wars ended, the droids deactivated upon receiving the order, and the planet was now silent at last.
War arose once more as the Rebel Alliance found out about the facilities and reactivated them in their war against the Empire. After a few mounths of siege, the Imperial forces eventually had to retreat after the battle of Endor, intending to regroup with a larger force. They, however, destroyed all rebel ships before leaving, leaving them stranded on the planet where they died of thirst, hunger, and heat. The tragic remains of the Rebels are scattered across the planet, a reminder to the violence of the war.
Human and Zabrak settlers tried to colonise the dangerous planets, effectively setting the beginning of a civilization, only to be wiped out fifty years later by the Gulag Plague. The Plague itself isn't the cause of their demise; but, once they lost contact with the rest of the galaxy, the ships supposed to supply them showing to be absent, they had to resort to desperate needs. Xenophobia rose in the humans, old rivalries were ignited, groups formed and performed cannibalism; some followed these gruesome ways, others killed themselves. The bloody fate of the colony was finally sealed as a damaged ship crashed down on the planet fourteen years after they lost contact, the inhabitants spreading the plague and ending the slaughter. The Netherworld event had little to no effect onto the planet, the world being already dead. However, in 844 ABY, red storms occured for years onto the planet, transforming the already arid landscape in a hellish landscape for the time of the storm.
The planet was only visited by sentient beings once more as the Sith Stugria travelled there with her child Sadoda, fleeing the Jedi and knowing that the planet would be a good place to hide, given its dangers and absence of life. The Sith was eventually killed as the Jedis found her once more, but her daughter came back several years later, setting her home there inside a wasted AT-AT.
Notable PCs: Jhiaga Shiwr
Intent: I have already mentionned Kalabesh III as Jhiaga's home earlier, and I decided to go ahead and make it official with a planet creation form. That way, it is settled, and when I make more threads on the planet, people can go here to see how it is like, facilitating future roleplays - and, who knows, maybe even a major faction going that way for the factories if they get the intel.
