RANK: Master of the Force and onetime Admiral
SPECIES: Corellian

SEX: Male
HEIGHT: 6'1"
WEIGHT: 162ib

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES (Required: 2 Weaknesses Minimum) :
+Focus - The ability to focus entirely on goals and exclude all distractions. This can make him a dangerous opponent.
+Survivor - Kal has the most remarkable habit of surviving events which should have killed him.

=Relic of days gone by - Born in the days of the first Galactic Empire, Kal is therefore posessed of a great deal of archaic and outdated information at odds with the facts of current times. Of course, who knows when this information might be of use.

-Scarred - Having seen more friends, allies and enemies buried than most, Kal has become cold and distant. It is remarkable difficult for him to strike up a relationship with anyone now, although he doesn't see this as a weakness.
-Hated - Many saw Kal Strife as a war criminal, and though most of those are now long dead, some memories can live on beyond the lifetimes of their owners.

APPEARANCE:
In terms of appearance, Kal Strife is not one who stands out in a crowd. His height is about average, and his lean, athletic form is hardly imposing. His hair, a shade of reddish brown, is cut reasonably short, and the long coats he tends to favour whenever not required to wear a uniform tend to obscure any weapons he might be carrying.

BIOGRAPHY:
Let us speak of a man whose hands are stained red with blood.

Born aboard a space station on the fringes of Wildspace, the son of Dr Janus Arcturus and Miranda Arcturus, Kalvin Arcturus was no product of love, but of scientific curiosity. Janus was fascinated with the Force, in which his wife was strong indeed, and sought to discover a way to awaken latent sensitivity in any sentient. The experiments he intended were beyond unethical, beyond insane even, and yet he cared not the slightest. Science, he would say, was beyond ethics. But there were many who disagreed with this assessment, his wife amongst them, and shortly before the maniac could begin his twisted experiments she arranged for a group of mercenaries to raid the station and steal away both Kalvin and his younger sister, Raine. For their own safety, the children were seperated and taken to distant corners of the galaxy.

Kalvin ended up on Corellia, where he was taken in by a young soldier named Zach Murn and his fiancee, Celine. The years the followed were not, perhaps, the easiest; a soldier of the Imperial-aligned Diktat were not amongst the best paid in the galaxy. Yet despite that, they were happier than any the child could have expected in his true home.

But happiness never lasts.

Zach died when Kalvin was ten, gunned down in a rebel ambush and, denied the money from his wages, Celine struggled to care for their young ward. Realising this, that she was suffering because of him, Kalvin did the only thing he could think to do; he fled in the dead of night. In the days and weeks that followed, he survived as best he was able, stealing what he needed. Eventually, he fell in with a street gang run by a man known as the Shrike, and learnt much of the ways of the streets. It was there that he first encountered the child known as Lore. Kal and Lore prospered in the gang, but the life quickly came to bore the two young men; they became convinced that they were destined for something more and, after a handful of years, both enlisted for the Imperial Stormtrooper Academy on Carida.

Neither graduated. In the years that followed, Kal would say that was because of Lore. Certainly, he broke the rules to stop Lore from taking advantage of a waitress in a local cantina, a girl who stirred up certainly brotherly feelings in him. But in truth, Kal could have gone to the authorities. They could have saved the girl the proper way. But no, that wasn't Kal's way, and he chose to confront Lore himself.

He was thrown out in disgrace for that.

Without a future or a job, Kal drifted for a while after that, before a chance encounter with a woman named Lady Nagrom, a Viceprex of the Corporate Sector Authority, gave him direction once more. Nagrom had been seeking recruits for the ESPOs, the notorious security forces of the Corporate Sector, and Kal was exactly the sort of candidate she had been seeking. He was given a role at squad leader level, then quickly rose through the ranks. And that was when the dreams began. Dreams of a girl trapped, begging for help. Of his sister, Raine, though he didn't know it at the time. Eventually, seeking out the source of the dreams, Kal stumbled upon the station where he had been born, and the father he had never known. Their encounter went as badly as anyone might have imagined, ending when Kal speared his father on a broken strut and, setting the station's reactor to overload, fled the station with his sister in tow.

Returning to the Corporate Sector, Kal began to take more dangerous assignments, using the money from them to set his sister up running a cantina on Etti IV. One such assignment involved infiltrating a group known as the Blue Star Pirates, a motley group based on a world named Ryustlore. It was no easy task, but Kal managed to earn the trust of their leaders and stood poised to destroy them when a demon from his past appeared on the Smuggler's Moon, Nar Shaddaa.

Lore.

Lore knew much of Kal's history, and threatened to reveal it to the pirates unless Kal faced him in a duel to the death. Left without a choice, Kal faced his onetime friend in a clash of blades that raged across the city-moon. Both were wounded grievously in the encounter, armour serving as little protection from their hatred. Eventually, Lore struck a killing blow, his blade piercing Kal's lungs, only to find himself staring at a thermal detonator.

The explosion obliterated them both.

But it turned out the galaxy was not done with Kal Strife.

Kuat of Kuat, a member of the Direx Board, soon learnt of Kal Strife's death, and set in motion a scheme to clone the Corellian. His reasons were simple; Kal died an apparent hero, slain while trying to bring down sworn enemies of the CSA, and Kuat required a figurehead for a planned takeover of the Authority following the disappearance of Lady Nagrom and her lover, Stark Valkruk. Alas for him, Kal was a poor choice for a figurehead, possessed with a strong sense of self determination. Worse still, the rapid cloning process Kuat had paid the masters so much for had done what Kal's father had failed to achieve; it had drawn out the potential to wield the Force that slumbered within the original.

What followed was a time of conflict, both within the Board Room and without. With Strife at the helm, the Authority underwent a series of reforms that seemed ever more militaristic, whilst Strife himself became ever more driven and ruthless. His reasons for this were simple enough; the dreams had returned, but this time they showed him a galaxy torn asunder by some terrible evil, and while Kal knew not what they represented, he vowed to do everything in his power to bring the galaxy to a point where it could survive the events of his vision. That vow proved to be a deadly one; as conflicts across the galaxy escalated and chaos swept through entire systems, the Corellian came to realise that the only way to unify the galaxy was to utterly destroy the chaotic elements that sought to divide it.

He began with the Blue Star Pirates, who by this point had formed an alliance with many other pirate groups in the galaxy. Drawing upon memories of his first life, he led the forces of the Authority, accompanied by a fleet of the Imperial Rim Patrol, to the pirate's base on Nedjev. In the massacre that followed, it was Kal who gave the fateful order; Base Delta Zero.

Nedjev burned. Thousands died in moments as the fleets poured their combined firepower into cracking the planet's crust and boiling away its atmosphere.

Other worlds followed, and never a soul was shown mercy as the Corellian continued his crusade against entropy. Eventually, as the Direx Board's enthusiasm for the hunt began to fade, Strife defected to the Galactic Empire under the authority of sometime leader Locount Lazarus. The defection was well timed, for not more than a month later the pirates struck back with a series of assassinations and terrorist attacks that slew many, including Kuat of Kuat, and entirely levelled Strife's former estate on Etti IV. Yet to Kal these attacks seemed little more than the death spasms of a dying group, and he soon turned his ire elsewhere, striking at the resurgent Sith with Lazarus' blessing, harrying their fleets and annihilating their worlds. But the Sith were not such easy foes as the Pirates, and eventually the Corellian found himself on the wrong side of an ambush. Captured, he was taken to the frozen world of Ziost, where the Dark Lord Rani Churs held him prisoner. There, in that frozen realm, Kal first encountered one of the only people he would ever come to care for; Aida Khan. She a Jedi, and almost his exact opposite, yet that did nothing to still the spark that flared between them. Trapped together, they had time enough to grown to know one another well, before the fateful day when one of Churs' apprentices made the mistake that allowed them to escape.

Though he and Aida parted then, Strife knew they would meet again.

Having escaped from the insidious clutches of the Sith, Kal pressed the campaign against them all the harder upon his return to the Empire. Forging a fresh alliance with the Corporate Sector, now under the leadership of a man named Salem Norongachi, the Corellian pushed the Sith back from known space, leaving their 'Empire' as little more than a cluster of scorched, lifeless worlds.

The two biggest threats to order eliminated, Kal was able to turn his focus to less important groups for a time. Groups such as the Dragons, terrorists who thrived on chaos and madness. It was on a hunt for them that the Corellian encountered Aida once more, rescuing her from a monstrous cyborg who had burnt the vision from her eyes and seemed intent on torturing her still further. Given the option of leaving Khan to die or returning her to the Jedi and risking incarceration for his sins, Strife chose the latter and soon found himself turned over to the Republic for trial. Fortunately, things were not as they seemed within the Republic - an insidious force had infiltrated every tier of their government, and Strife was able to cut a deal with these shadowy figures, publicly defecting from the 'decadent' Empire in favour of the Republic. There, Kal once more served as a figurehead for the masses, continuing his crusade against chaos while the holonets painted him a hero. Yet Kal was not blind to the evil within, and soon found himself standing against the group that had infilitrated the Republic. Against their leader, von Schwartzkrieg. Alas, his stand came too late; von Schwartzkrief activated a network of shadowmass generators he had secreted across the Republic's capital, and both combatants were forced to withdraw from the dying world.

In the days that came, Kal worked to bring some semblance of order back to the shattered shards of the Republic, eventually managing to from them into a New Rebellion against the corrupt forces of von Schwartzkrieg and their old enemies in the Empire. In this he was aided by Aida, who had left the Jedi to help rebuild the Republic she loved, but there were many who stood opposed to him. Many who could not forget his past allegiances.

Knowing that his presence would only cause the chaos he sought to silence, Kal passed leadership of the Rebellion to Aida and departed, taking a small crew of loyal soldiers and a ship he christened 'The Unforgiven' into the depths of Wild Space.

That was seven hundred years ago.

SHIP:
The Unforgiven. This modified PB-950 system patrol boat, named for the epithet Kal assumed after departing the New Rebellion, was once crewed entirely by those whom Kal Strife trusted implicity. Alas, the years have not been kind, and now the Corellian is most often alone onboard. Although now considerably outdated and battlescarred, the vessel has been carefully maintained and, in the right hands, can be a surprisingly potent weapon.

KILLS:
Many. None worth detailing.

BOUNTIES COLLECTED:
None.
