APPEARANCE:

Kairi, as her former self, was a beautiful young woman with fair but very pale skin. Her long black hair would often be far below her waist and her sparkling blue eyes would diffuse even some of the most fierce hearts. She was not an athlete by any means but, however, she was still a moderately slim girl. Those days of young beauty have long since passed. She now stands but a husk of her former self, a vile and wretched being.

Her skin tinted a pus yellow that seemed to flake and crack under the most gentle of pressure. Her eyes, once full of a spark of life that could sink the confidence of every young Atrisian boy, were now but dark hollows that ached with the pain of girl who wished only to die but never would. Her black hair, once straightened and cleaned with care, now hangs twisted and unkempt and even a slight pull could peel a bald spot in the tangled jungle of thread-like hairs.

BIOGRAPHY:

Kairi was born on Atrisia to a noble household long before the rise of even the first Galactic Empire. Her father, Hato Tzang, was a warlord known throughout the Atrisian Empire and a strict man of discipline and honor. He was also a loyal servant to the ways of old, he believed that a house was only as good as the sons it bore. One can imagine his disappointment when the first child he bore was no son at all, but a small girl with two eyes that didn't even match. Hato was outraged. In his mind, a daughter was no more use than a unwanted piece of art that muddled your home until someone came along and found beauty in its otherwise worthless existence.

This set the girl on a harsh and unwelcome path from her very first breathes. She was never truly brought to a real home after she left the hospital. It was more as if she had been brought to a house of strangers and she was simply some unwanted guest that they couldn't be rid of. By the time she was a year old, her father and mother had a second child who was the male heir to the throne as she was supposed to be. She would never rise to be seen as an equal to her brother, Izo, not in her father's eyes anyway. While Izo would be bragged about and groomed for success, she would be locked inside the family home and left to find her own way. Not ever her mother paid her mind out of fear of her father's reprisal. He had commanded that Kairi not be acknowledged by the family and that Izo was not even to know of her, out of fear that she might "corrupt his mind".

So, the girl was treated like she wasn't even supposed to be alive. Her father tortured her soul and mind for no other reason than he was ashamed of himself when he looked at her. How could his first born be a daughter when for generations of his family, the first born was a son granted to the family by the spirits? It was nothing short of a disgrace and an omen in his eyes. Kairi was determined, however. Determined to rebel against her father's hiding of her existence and determined to make herself great whether he agreed to it or not. And so, at the age of twelve, she began to sneak into her father's dojo in search of manuscripts and guides to family techniques she was supposed to have no part in. This led her to the discovery of a force technique passed down her family for generations.

The technique she discovered was entitled "The Path of the Whispering Palm" and was a force sect developed mainly in the interest of forging a strong self-discipline and maintaining fitness, concentration and meditation. However, it was also used to defensive combat but had tenants and morals specifically against using the technique as a tool of war. Due to these tenants, the Whispering Palm was kept a well guarded secret of the Tzang household to keep the technique from being utilized by Sith and Jedi as weapons. Kairi was sure that if she could prove herself by learning the Whispering Palm, she could impress her father and finally be welcomed as part of the family.

For years she trained in secret, using household items for practice and using her father's orders to ignore her to the advantage. By the time the Clone Wars erupted, Kairi was at the age of fifteen and her father brought her brother to help the Republic in their fight against the Separatists. It was during this time that Kairi used her father's absence to mingle with households and relatives she was barred from seeing. To many, it was suspicious that the Tzang household had a daughter it did not speak of and this soon led to conflict. The Ugha Household, a rival to the Tzang, capitalized on the suspicion and began to harass Kairi's mother with questions and endless visits. Eventually, these visits escalated into vandalism and even burglary.

Kairi would not stand for it and she had made up her mind to break the tenants she learned from the materials stolen from her father. One day, as the Ugha vandals were on their way to the Tzang household, Kairi ambushed them. Using her knowledge of the Whispering Palm, she attacked and severely injured the son and two brothers of the head of the Ugha clan. Witnesses reported her to the Ugha and confirmed her identity, leading to a strong political attack on the Tzang household that saw Kairi's father returning to Atrisia.

Once home and hearing of the damage caused by Kairi, Hato felt a deep cut of personal shame and disgrace. He had let the daughter he never wanted steal from him, learn the family secrets and then dishonor the family name and code with her actions. There was noway to restore honor to the family name, aside from the most drastic of measures...and he was willing to take them.

Kairi was bound, gagged and brutally beaten by her father's servants before being put on a shuttle. Her father planned to have her murdered in deep space and have her body ejected to keep his crime covered up. As the shuttle exited the system, Kairi sat cold, barely clothed and alone in the shuttle bay. She had finally been bestowed the most horrible of betrayals that her family had ever given her, she was sentenced to die and on the eve of her own birthday. Her life seemed all but over, until an unknown figure attacked the shuttle after it had exited the bounds of the system and dropped from hyperspace. The figure easily slaughtered her father's men and came before her in the holding area.

This figure called itself Azothrogal the Destroyer

The creature offered her what he called "the ultimate solution to all of her pain and suffering" a chance to be greater than any of her ancestors had been before. A chance to become immortal and all she would have to give was her physical body and forfeit her soul to him, for all eternity. To her, it was an easy price to pay...
