STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES
Expert in martial arts and hand to hand combat, favouring the hidden blade he fashioned to use over blasters and even lightsabers.
Interested in all things science, especially Biology. If something has a heartbeat, it can further change the galaxy with the secrets it contains. Kaan knows which organs do the most damage when ruptured, and how the elements can be used with the Force for attacks.
He thinks with his head, not just his heart. Kaan takes time to listen and find reason in everything, and does not openly dismiss anything unless proven otherwise. Regarding the Force and the Light Side, he has seen their faults and its weakness so does not need them to plead their case anymore.
Kaan suffers from laryngospasm and reflux disease which is something he refuses to believe was a factor in his sons young death. The vocal chords seize up when irritated and momentarily chocks him, worse when sleeping, but passes in moments but is very scary, as if one was drowning. Working with chemicals and toxins has damaged his vocal chords and nerve endings, so his breathing is hampered because of this and he chooses to wear his breathing mask more often than not to help regulate his attacks.
No experience with the Jedi or Sith, and does not fully understand the power of the Force and what it can be used for. Kaan would be willing to learn, but not at the expense of his view of the Force being nothing but a mutation in genes being disregarded.
At one time this man could love, but has since forgotten how. Is this a gift or a curse? Kaan doesn’t know, but right now love has only brought pain and so deems it a weakness.

BIOGRAPHY
Born on Cambria to successful parents; a Republic doctor and starship mechanic, Aldro Kaan was a much loved son. Brought up with a wealth of education and life-lessons thanks to his parent’s stories and experiences, Aldro took interest in wanting to follow his mother’s footsteps in medicine and help save lives, excel in studies and learn about the Force which, he was brought up to believe, was more to do with science than nature. While Aldro was gifted with the Force, he never was taught how to use it, but was told to discover it in his own way, in his own time, through science and research.
However, a tragedy was embedded in his brain at the age of 7 when he unfortunately witnessed his mother give birth to a stillborn child, a boy, at home. It was the first time he had seen death and the first time he had seen a life taken away before it had a chance to thrive, and this made Aldro deeply upset ay how unfair life was, but also proved that the Force, if natural, was cruel in selecting who lived or died. It also brought a strain to the household with a grieving family trying to move forward.
The Kaan family did move on, as families do, but the memories never left. Aldro grew, studied, and became more convinced the Force was nothing but mutated genetics which enabled sentient beings the ability to do things evolution hadn’t yet granted to everyone. Biology played a bigger part in the Force than nature.
When it came for Aldro to find his own way to continue studying medicine and science, there was only one place he could go. With his parents blessing and the promise to help change the galaxy for good, Aldo left for the Deep Core – Coruscant.
With the good word of his family name and reputation of his mother, Aldro was placed at the Biomedical Institute on Coruscant to continue his studies. He found work in a cantina serving and cleaning and while he had many good days, he also had bad ones – those with the Force continuing to fight in a show over who was right and who was wrong. The Jedi Knights valued life and what the Force was, while the Sith Lords valued progression with the Force as a tool. Aldro saw the Sith Lords as the ones who understood the Force for what it was.
Over the years he continued working and living in the low-level cantina, starting to meet locals and build a reputation as a quick-witted and knowledgeable young man. He was involved with expeditions to Core planets, learnt martial arts and helped grow replacement organs and body parts for wounded servicemen, and equally was involved with the darker pleasures that come out after hours on Coruscant. It proved beneficial in the end as he graduated from the Institute, left the small cantina bunkroom and moved in with a fellow scientist graduate he had been seeing, a human girl called Keli. During the strong relationship with Keli, Aldro was even happier when they learnt they were going to be parents. He had a job as Republic Biomedical Engineer and the two were more than content.
But not everyone is granted a happy ending.
Keli gave birth to a son who survived for 2 days, dying peacefully of respiratory failure in his mother’s arms. Aldo was devastated and desperately tried to transfer a natural Force energy to their son to help him survive, to repair any damage done, but it was too late. With the death of his son a further example that the Force was nothing more than a biological ability which failed to grant life, even if those who controlled the Force willed it, Aldro withdrew from everything. He focused on using his skill to fuse the Force and science in one human body to create a power that would finally choose to give life or take it away – earth, water, air and fire being the elements he would control.
With his obsession taking over and the refusal to accept their son had died naturally, Keli left him after numerous arguments and split lips. Aldro worked day and night in the apartment he kicked her out of, her fear of him allowing him to stay there if he didn't contact her ever again. The strange pursuit of wanting to use the Force as a tool to prove it was nothing more than a gift and curse in equal measure, mixed with his anger and hatred for those who believed the Force was what brought about life itself, in his eyes deeming his family deaths worthless, Aldro steadily become twisted with the Dark Side due to his irrational feelings and thoughts.
Deciding to fight anyone who praised the Force and the Light, he customized his gold martial arts armour into something more fitting for him to wear and fill out, complete with a cowl and mask to protect his face. Fuelled by a loathing for the Light which brought him nothing but pain, Aldro dispenses his first name and simply calls himself Kaan and sets about seeing if the Dark Side will do what he promised his parents he would achieve – to make the galaxy a better place once and for all…
