  • Easy to use slick and stable operating system that everyone can count on. It feels very simple, but behind the nice graphics there is a well designed system that runs everything. Developed by K Corporation, it has everything a modern operating system needs.

STRENGTHS

  • Multifunctional: From home and office use to space-station operation it can be used everywhere, even on mobile hardware, and it has a server version too, so it can power whole networks. Users can enjoy the new graphical interfaces, or if they prefer the old console style interface too. With drivers it can run on nearly any hardware that is powerful enough to properly run it.
  • Stable and Fast: It is a very stable and reliable system, almost never crashes, even if you mess with it. Generally runs smoothly, everything is nice and slick with it, unless you bloat the system with too many addons.
  • Secure: K Corp focuses on security, the OS is very secure and safe, it has built in firewalls, anti-hack and anti-virus systems.

WEAKNESSES

  • Closed Source: The OS code is closed and protected, only K Corp can access, modify, improve and develop it. It is licensed, so users have to pay for it.
  • New and Shiny: It runs only on new and powerful hardware, it is not backwards compatible with very old hardware, or it just runs poorly.

A popular universal multifunctional operating system developed by K Corporation, it has everything a modern operating system needs, the foundation on other programs can run on. It has many integrated functions, which make it so useful and versatile. The code is made by the most knowledgeable coders in K Corp. The OS is jack of all trades master of none, it is good at everything you need, but generally excels at nothing. Aside from its built in functions and tools, the real charm of it are the programs and applications that you can run on the OS, you can generally find a K Corp or third party program for nearly everything you need.

K OS was always one of K Corp's base products, one of their most known digital product, it's the system that runs on everything in the megacorp's realm. The 1st version was the big breakthrough, the first OS with a nicely working graphical user interface in the history of the megacorporation. The second version was a big improvement, with much better performance and stability, the first was a slow and laggy OS, but the 2nd was finally what was originally imagined K OS to be. It became very popular, especially on older systems that could be modernized with a simple software change. However despite its popularity the second version of the OS lacked critical features, it simply needed to be more than a stabile working environment, with more features and built in programs. The 3rd version of the OS was the definitive one, that everyone knew and loved, with many preinstalled programs for digital/holo work. K Corp sold countless K OS 3 licenses during the years, but as time passed, it has become a bit dated, the design and the code too. Still some hardcore fans of K OS 3 still insist it is the best version of it and use it till today with custom patches and updates. During the successful years of K OS 3 K Corp wasn't sitting on its hands, it used the money to improve the OS.

K OS 4 is the best version of K OS yet, it has many improved and grand new features, it runs much more smoothly and stable than the previous ones, and it has many security features. K Corp hopes it will become a standard OS.
