Strengths:
- Modular ammo: Essentially, this thing is a star was equivalent to the M320, which is able to have a rather modular set of ammo shoved down its muzzle. Technically you could even put rocks down this thing but that would be pretty pointless. The usual ammo tends to be grenades.
- Easy to add: Just a pin here and a pin there, screw this clamp and that, and this thing is a nice tidy attachment to most every standard rifle that exists.
- Can be fired alone: Not optimal, but in a pinch, this thing can be used sans rifle to send damage down range.
- Rate of Fire: This attachment only fires once before having to be reloaded by shoving another grenade up the front of the launcher, aiming down sights again aaaand then you can launch a second time. Even with super force speed and lots of training, that isn't gonna be a fast process. You better make sure you hit right the first time.
- Weight: This thing adds weight to whatever rifle its attached to, and while on C.O.D. or Black Ops that doesn't matter, it makes the rifle heavier and that makes your arms tired, which makes aiming down sights harder.
For too long rifles and grenades have been stagnant, which is a shame since both are really the modern warrior's best friend. At RMIA, this could never last, so the weapon designers got to work and decided to even up their game. The results of their collaboration brought the K40, the next generation in grenade launching.
This grenade launcher easily slides onto any rifle that is made for combat. Once it is in place, the user places whatever it is going to launch through the mouth opening and primes for fire. Once placed inside, the projectile is primed and ready, locked in place until launched down range. This could be really anything that fits inside, from rocks to thermal detonators, however, RMIA is not responsible for misfires due to misuse. Overloading its launch capacity results in spontaneous combustion, which usually ends up being fatal.
Once the user pulls the trigger, the projectile is sent down range at a rapid speed. To increase accuracy this thing can be keyed into the user's HUD and personal targeting system.
The secret is in the patented launch mechanism. A gas chamber behind the barrel builds up pressure, which when released sends the ammunition down range. Its pretty simple, using air-pressure and air tanks to send their projectiles down range. As a result, the stuff launched down range is not really as fast or carries as much momentum as your average slug thrower round.
All in all, its just an under-barrel launcher for your rifles.
