STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES
  • + Philosophical Wisdom: Wise beyond her years, Jyn is known to break into philosophical debates without a moments notice - an act which can often surprise those who view her as little more than a child still.
  • + Strong... Enough: Due to her upbringing within the Sith Empire, Jyn is conditioned against physical pain and emotional trauma which gives her a grizzled resilience that is unfitting of her age. This does not make her physically strong, of course, and it is useless against her more recently acquired fiery damage.
  • + Survival Instincts: Being that she has fended mostly for herself since her abandonment, Jyn has slowly adjusted to life on her own and in the wild; she knows how to keep herself alive long enough to make it through the night.
  • + Firearm Training: Raised by an Imperial Officer prior to being sent away to the Academy, Jyn is capable of handling small firearms; as of late, she has taken to carrying one with her in place of the Force or a lightsaber.
  • ~ Natural Empath: Her heightened attunement towards emotions allows Jyn to have a better understanding of people; however, it also means that she can sense their pain and distress which has been used against her in the past.
  • - Paranoia: Raised amongst a society of manipulative individuals, who would do anything to further themselves, plus her exposure to the likes of the Atrisian Empire's Inquisition, has left Jyn an extremely paranoid individual who distrusts everyone save for Fuz.
  • - Distrusting of the Force: Viewing it as a burden and a curse, Jyn will only use the Force when necessary or outright instructed to. She lacks trust towards it, and refuses to rely on it as a crutch to her existence like so many others do, knowing well enough how corrupt man can become when given too much power.
  • - Fuz: Still mourning the loss of her only companion, the death of Fuz - her little fat monkey - has left Jyn all the more at odds with the Galaxy, with the Force, and with herself; she blames herself for his death, and it has left a void within her that cannot be filled.
  • - Naivety: Despite her aforementioned wisdom, in many ways Jyn is just as naive as the next child... If not, in many ways, more so; she also craves the acceptance of a Father-figure, although she will not admit as much.
  • - Unstable: Volatile in nature since her latest case of abandonment, Jyn's paranoia has reached a peak and has left her a bit of a wreck; she is unpredictable, especially when provoked or backed into a corner.
  • - Introverted: Jyn keeps to herself where possible; her only companion is - or was - a monkey. This has caused her to become less vocal and more introverted when around fellow humans.
  • - Slight Deafness: Jyn was born with partial deafness in one ear, which only seems to be growing worse as she ages. Anyone stood on her left and speaking in a hushed tone may have a hard time getting her to listen and respond.
  • - Combustion: The Force is cruel. Through a mixture of severe emotional exposure and the Darkside whenever Jyn expresses too much emotion, or fluctuates too deeply to either side of the Force, her body becomes alive with fire. This can come into effect from something as visible as laughter, to more discrete fears. She has very little control over this, and while it does not physically damage her she feels the pain regardless.
  • - Flightless: Jyn awoke one day without her ship or possessions, and no memory of where they are. While she has been able to replace most of her smaller items, she remains without a ship and as such relies on public transport or the aid of the few people in the Galaxy she trusts to get around.

FORCE POWERS
  • [Innate] Empathy: A natural ability, Jyn is able to read and feel the emotions of others; she has been known to feel the agony of an entire planet from within its outer atmosphere during war.
  • [Novice] Telekinesis: Jyn was taught how to use the Force to levitate an object and how to shatter it. She has since unintentionally gained an understanding of Force Wound, however the ability is not one she can fully control.
  • [Novice] Telepathy: Jyn is capable of telepathic communication, however only in very close proximity. She cannot speak to someone who is not in the same room.
  • [Novice] Animal Friendship: Naturally developed, Jyn used this to soothe Fuz and keep track of him. She has only used it on other creatures when absolutely necessary, and thus it's not as natural!
  • [Novice] White Current Immersion: With her immersion training going unfinished, Jyn is capable of holding an immersed state for but a few moments before she over-thinks it.
PLAYER DEATHS
STARSHIP
  • XS-800 Light Freighter: Piloted by a FEG-Series droid, with Jyn as co-pilot due to her incompetence with a vessel, the ship was acquired by Jyn shortly after her escape from Vendaxa and the death of Fuz. However, it has recently gone missing and Jyn has yet to recover it.
PRE-ROLEPLAY HISTORY

Eli Lorr was a distinguished Knight in the Jedi Order, a fellow student who learned alongside Asha when they were both Padawans. Together, upon Knighthood, the pair formed an Academy on Talus to ensure the safety and future of the Order. Years passed while the pair continued their work, however with time they grew ever closer until they did what each had vowed to never do: they broke the Code of their Order through infatuation, and a sincere and deep love blossomed.

It was inartificial to a fault, and in truth their relationship was not even physical to begin with, merely an increased kinship. As things began to grow tough for the two Jedi, however, their passions ran deeper. They married in secrecy, and Asha became with-child. Before it was noticeable enough for Eli to realise, however, a drastic turn of events took place. Eli disappeared off the face of the Galaxy, having fallen to the lure of the Darkside found upon Korriban. He returned only once to see her, their love still ever-present.

Just before the birth of Rhiari, Asha fell ill. It was a sickness of both mind and body, and in her confusion she fled from the Order, disappearing for several months. When she returned all memory of Eli and her child was gone, the product of a self-induced Flashburn. Asha had tipped over the edge, and in order to save herself from the darkness she had sacrificed all she had. From then on she continued her Jedi lifestyle, all the while Rhiari remained without her parents.

Everyone regards the inhabitants of Serenno to be self-important, pompous fools with grand, yet worthless, titles and a wealthy plot of land, right? Well that's not the case. Rhiari was initially raised as the unwanted child of a Countess of Serenno, within the City which gave her the name she wears: Saffia. At first her adoptive Mother, wife of a notable Count, raised her in secrecy, fearful of what the Count might say should she present him with a babe.

Soon it became too much for the woman to upkeep the child without his knowledge, and after three strained years the child was left outside the door of a Temple, deemed a burden and not a family member. But they too could only do so much, and soon Rhiari was a child who was forced to scavenge for herself. Some people would take pity on her, but never would they do more than hand her a little food or some old clothes their children no longer fitted in.

Despite this she couldn't find it in herself to loathe the Galaxy: there was always a small spark of hope that somewhere out there there were better worlds than this. Over time her innate Empath skills began to flourish; at first they terrified the young girl, but that only made it worse. Once she accepted it as a part of who she was, albeit she didn't understand the power all the same, it grew easier to handle. And as her Empathy grew so too did her worldly understanding.

There grew within the child a longing: the desire to help, to make things right in the Galaxy. She had seen so much wrong, so much hardship, while a select few enjoyed their wealth and luxuries. Rhiari had to turn her moral compass on its head and perform petty theft just to remain alive, hoping to find a few credit chips or something of worth through sleight of hand. She knew it wasn't right, but what else was a child to do? One day, however, Rhiari made a mistake.

She chose to pickpocket the wrong person...

ROLEPLAY LISTINGS

ACT I: The Princess of Dirt
Rhiari was, for a time, adored by her mother. The child of two Jedi her existence was kept low-key; she was sent away to live with a couple on Serenno, however Asha visited her frequently. That was before the incident; afterward everything went downhill, with her adoptive family evicting the child from their home at the birth of their own child. Now she is just an urchin on the streets of Serenno. Can the assistance of a Jedi help put her back on the right path, and perhaps even bring her back to the mother she had lost?

ACT II: Uncertainty Incarnate
In the time which passes among the Sith, Rhiari's identity is changed with her retaining no recollection of her past self. Raised within House Sol, prominent members of the Sith Hierarchy, and watched from a distance by her true-blooded aunt Thyra, Jyn is sent to learn among the Sith of Korriban. But even after all these years, even with her mind made to forget who she really was, Jyn is reluctant to become one of them. Being a natural empath they try to harness this in order to force her into subjugation, but her strength of spirit keeps her from falling. She even managed to escape the academy for a few days, finding herself a companion in the form of Fuz, a baby fat-monkey. But her luck ran out quickly and she was carted back to the Academy. Here she met with Tirdarius, and learned that a change of lifestyle wasn't always the best of things...

1. Monkey See, Monkey Do: Jyn does not want to be a Sith, and often finds ways to avoid lessons and hide from the eyes of who she deems the predators. During one such evening of hiding she is met by the figure of Tirdarius, a Sith Lord with a different attitude towards the way the Empire should be run. Taking her for his Apprentice, the pair leave Korriban, and various discussions on Philosophy follow, as well as an introduction to the Force.

2. Investiture: Having left the Sith Empire, Tirdarius heads to the newly refound Galactic Imperium, taking Jyn with him. Following this, she is inducted into the Imperial Knights as an Initiate, and is expected to give herself to the Imperium, the Empress and the Imperial Knights as a whole.

3. Ice Breaker: The Imperium is spreading it's influence, and seeking to claim Belkadan for herself. Exposed to the truths of war, Jyn forces herself to keep her Empathy under wraps, or risk going mad, and Tirdarius hopes to use the opportunity given by the Dominion to teach her more on Philosophy, structure and her place within the Galaxy.

With four years of her life gone from her mind, it's up to Jyn to retrace her steps in order to try and figure out exactly what had happened. But all is not what it seems; and after learning of her true heritage, Jyn seeks a rebirth in hopes of shedding all evidence of her time as a Sol. Taking up her Father's name, while resisting the urge to return to her roots completely as Rhiari Lorr, the newly named Thédus set out into the world, intending to right the wrongs of her Bloodline. But fate is cruel, and instead of finding her way to the Jedi she instead lands in the hands of a Sith. Will she resist as her Mother before her had, or fall to its allures like her Father?

Jyn has had a lot of development... But not a lot of training :p

[member="Jorryn Fordyce"]

Oh it would be the worst. She used to have a relatively strong mind, would you believe?

[member="Naamah Aesham"]

Now that is interesting! Jyn is struggling simply to survive right now without her skin turning scorched.

I suppose enough time has passed since the days of the Inquisition for the likes of Naamah to realize they may have been a little heretical :p

Lololol.

See, Naamah doesn't really feel bad about the Inquisition stuff. She has Stockholmn Syndrome in that regard. What she feels bad about is turning into a deviant psychopath who did nasty things. She was already messed up in the Inquisition, but went off the rails after the Anti-Forcer Purge.

Poor Jyn. She needs a big hug. :(
