Description:
The JX-5 pod racer is the first attempt for MandalTech at Pod Racer creation. The racer was designed to have an excellent acceleration and top speed but it cost in the braking and maneuverability departments. The twin trust engines are air cooled internal combustion turbines capable of propelling the Pod at a whopping 950km/h. The energy binders are quite powerful and dangerous if contacted by living creatures and droids or electronics entering the beam would be shorted out quickly. With out a doubt the precision of the engines could push the pod faster utilizing a boost feature and reach 1000km/h but the risk are substantial. If boost is used and the Pod does not decelerate quickly enough before a turn a crash is more than likely. The crash would also likely be fatal for most species.
While the thrust engines add speed the craft is kept aloft by repulsor lift technology.
