Personality
Modeled after the personality of James’ favorite former Mandolorian, [member="Jagen Wren"], this droid has a very peculiar nature. Despite the fact that droids cannot consume alcohol, this one seems to believe it can—and douses itself into the intoxicant. It is serious, friendly, and even from the box seems to have a strange sense of regret about the past. The droid is very likable, professional, and works incredibly hard—so long as alcohol is not present. Like Wren, this droid doesn’t take itself too seriously or have a chip on its shoulder, which is more than we can say for most of the droids of its model type.

Development
James was making a lot of money with the droids MMI was pumping out. More than that, he was having way too much fun commissioning these droids. He called up his experts in the field that he has on retainer after a night of drunkenness with Jagen. The spacer asked what was in the market for repair droids and mechanics. The response was a general groan followed by, “we will begin drawing up blue prints for something.”
The spacer was quite pleased—apparently you can get people to learn from past experiences. When the droid bodies were deigned, they returned to the spacer and asked him what personality he wanted programed into the units. James, of course, wanted Jagen’s in these. After all, the K units had been successful, why not model these after another of his friend? The droid designers gave another groan of agony at his antics. Until the spacer reminded him what he paid them to put up with his antics. Clicking their heels together, they hurried about in diligence. Would the droid be another hit like MMI’s previous K-series, or would it be another Y1 unit? Only time would tell.
