Just some Fruit (Kiren)

On the planet of Makeb, the whistling sounds of an object traveling through air was heard and moments later a white and rather fashionable transport shuttle appeared, hovering with buzzing engines above the market squares landing pad. A second later the mechanical sound of gears turning was heard and a door at the back of the craft opened. Another moment later a man exited, crouched down as he left the vehicle to fit through the tiny door, but as he stood his full frame came into view. He was around 1.85 meters tall and had a well built muscular frame, one that was even visible behind his long dark robes, that had delicate silver trimmings along the edges of them. And by his waist, in order to keep check on the long robes sat a thick dark brown leather belt which had an unusual piece of equipment attached to its right side, a curved hilt lightsaber.

One of the most notable things to his appearance however, was probably the durasteel mask that was covering the front of his face, going all the way from the bottom of his chin to the top of his forehead. It was almost silver like in its appearance, decorated with symbols and curves where the cheekbones and nose would have been. Its otherwise face shaped surface was only broken by two holes for the eyes and nostrils each, and a few slits by the mouth to allow for easy breathing. It gave off an almost cold and perhaps even menacing look.

As the man stood tall he turned his face towards the open door to the transport shuttle, only darkness seen inside of it. “Thanks for the ride, Sir. Was much appreciated.” The man said in a formal and bass voice, giving a polite nod as he turned once more to look over the square of the city he had arrived in. Makeb was a wonderful planet in its own right, its cities placed upon tower tall stone pillars that reached far up towards the white soft clouds that made up a part of the planets atmosphere.

Senji, the man with the mask was a padawan from the Ossus academy. He had been lucky enough to get the "important task" to buy and bring back an old jedi scroll an elderly lady had been rumored to have. It was one of the few missions Senji had been on, but he was looking forward to it, eager to get going. After all, he was a librarian.

It was market day in most of the cities that scattered across the planet, laughter and loud voices heard haggling the prices of various goods from the market, up and down prices went, people seen everywhere. A subtle smile formed behind the cover of Senji’s mask as he started to trudge by the edge of the market down towards one of the larger streets where he had been told that the woman lived, his likewise dark brown knee tall leather boots heard squeaking softly as he walked, his eyes quietly scanning the market place as he slowly went through it. What a lovely day, surely this would be an easy task. Or what?

Kiren paced quickly down the back alley's of the city, today was the day that would keep him fed for weeks, the teenage wanderer had been hearing rumors of a large shipment of off-world fruits arriving at the vendor of an elderly Twilek. The boy with the long, unkept spiky black hair, and ice blue eyes had to get most of his meals these days from what most people would refer to as "Garbage". Chances like these were getting increasingly rare for the boy, mostly due to the fact that bounty hunters and his old gang members were on his tracks.
Kiren had once been part of one of the largest, and most powerful gangs on the planet of Makeb, he had been "Adopted" by the gang when his family, some of the wealthiest people on Makeb, were murdered. In an accident during a job for the gang, Kiren learned that he was force sensitive, he kept this a secret but when the leaders of the gang eventually found out they forced him to do bigger, more ambitious and dangerous jobs for the gang. Gaining quite a few scars from these jobs, Kiren started to fear for his life and eventually fled.

'There they are.' Kiren thought as he stared out from the alleyway at an open box of off-world fruits across the street. 'Now all i need to do is-' Kiren stopped mid-thought as he saw a menacing looking man in a durasteel mask scanning the market place.
'A bounty hunter!' kiren thought as he examined the man, just his luck. 'How am i going to get the fruit, when there's a bounty hunter patrolling the place?!' then Kiren remembered.
Kiren lifted his hand and focused 'Alright just think of the fruit. Think of the fruit.' kiren closed his eyes and brought up a mental image of delicacy across the street. Kiren put all his might into the image and opened his eyes, the most he got from the fruit was a light shifting of position.
The boy sighed and considered giving up right then and there until he heard his stomach rumble, 'Alright Plan B, here we go.'

Kiren lifted up his tattered brown hood over his head and started walking inconspicuously across the street, he stopped at each vendor and pretended to examine the wares until he finally arrived at the box of fruit. The elderly Twilek vendor owner eyed him warily "Is there something you want here, young man?" the alien said to him, Kiren took one last look at the bounty hunter to see if he was looking in his direction, he then swiftly grabbed as much fruit as he could carry and beelined it for the nearest alleyway. "Stop thief!" the elderly Twilek yelled at him.

Senji continued to walk at a slow pace past booth after booth filled with wares of all kinds, from droids to food and clothing. He was almost certain that you could find everything your heart desired at this market. If you had the credits for it. As Senji neared the large main road he stopped. He had felt something flow through the currents of the force and gently push the small field around him he kept in constant check. Slowly Senji turned on his feet to look back towards the market, peering through the crowd to find the source of this tiny disturbance. Air was felt entering his lungs as he inhaled deeply through his nose, closing his eyes for a few seconds as his force field slowly started to expand. Behind the vail of darkness of his closed eyes he could see faint, ghostly image of those around him, but nothing seemed out of the ordinary, he could feel no other force presence. He opened his eyes once again, a tiny bit exhausted from having utilized the force in such a manner and was just about to dismiss what he had felt just a second ago, but suddenly a loud voice was heard from what he could only assume was a female twi’lek.

“Stop theif!” The voice sounded, commotion created as someone pushed their way through the crowd towards an alley way with great speed, a brown and tattered hood hanging over the persons face. Senji supposed this was the theif the twi’lek had yelled about, but Senji didn’t react immediately. From what he could see it was a child who had been running away, holding only a few fruits. In Senji’s mind, there was always a reason for criminal acts. And in this case, hunger had probably inspired it. He did not feel the need to chase down a boy with a few fruits and give them back to the owner who had many more she could sell. She wasn’t the one who would grow hungry in the evening and furthermore Senji could do nothing to help out the poverty that was seen everywhere across the galaxy. He would make no difference. He pitied it, but knew he could do nothing about it. Compared to a lot of other Jedi, Senji understood this concept well; even if one wanted to, it was impossible to help everyone. Sadly.

However, his thoughts were halted as he spotted a large, almost 2 meter tall twi’lek male –he could only assume was the ladies son- that started to run towards the alley, picking up some sort of metal pipe on his way over there, clear rage seen in the large aliens eyes. See this, was something Senji could relate to a lot more. This twi’lek intended to hurt the boy and take back the fruits. And it was not through violence this situation would be handled, not with Senji around. Quickly he sprung forward, complete concentration seen behind his mask as he delved into the force, no emotions, complete control starting to pool the essence of the force into his mind. As he moved towards the alley he slowly started to the let the pool leak, a steady and slow stream of the shimmering sensation springing through his body, renewing his energy and taking over his legs. He allowed the force to guide him, his movements becoming faster as he flashed across the stone road beneath him. Suddenly he was two meters above the ground as he made a long jump guided by the force over a pile of large metal barrels, landing safely to continue his pursuit.

As reached the alley way he spotted the boy and the Twi’lek he was chased by both only a couple of meters in front of him, both running with determination towards the next corner. Senjis steps grew louder and faster as he let the stream of force energy grow stronger, his pace rapid as he sprinted towards them and from behind his mask his voice was heard, loud, echoing down the long alley: “Stop! Both of you! Boy, it's alright. I'll pay for the fruits! Stop!"

Kiren had made it half-way to the alleyway before he started to hear footsteps chasing after him, he looked back to see if it was the bounty hunter, too his surprise it was the Twilek shop owner's humongous son who, to Kiren's knowledge, was supposed to be in a different city.
'Great, this is even worst than the bounty hunter.' Kiren thought as he made his way into the alleyway, the large Twilek had an ominous reputation of beating thieves to an inch of their lives. To Kiren's dismay, while he was thinking this the Twilek picked up a large metal pipe, no doubt to beat him down with.

As Kiren stepped into the alleyway he started to feel a strange sensation in the air, a sensation that he had never felt before. He looked back to see the bounty hunter from before jump over a large pile of barrels and chase after them at an unnaturally fast pace, Kiren's mind flashed with alarm and he started running at a faster pace. The Twilek with the metal pipe was starting to catch up to him, the weight from the pipe not slowing him down at all. 'This is a losing battle, they will no doubt catch up to me eventually. I need to lose them and hide.'

The bounty hunter from behind yelled "Stop! Both of you! Boy, it's alright. I'll pay for the fruits! Stop!" Kiren doubted that the Twilek was willing to listen to reason at the moment and turned the corner as he dashed down another alleyway. 'Buy the fruit and turn me in to the gang.' Kiren thought as he balanced out the bounty hunters words.
The Twilek was starting to catch up to him and had a hand outreached to grab him, no doubt to pummel him into a pulp. Kiren knew he had no doubt of outrunning the man and started looking down the alleyway for options, the boy found an answer in the man piles of garbage that lined the alleyway.

Kiren started pushing over the piles as he ran past them, trying to gain ground on the Twilek, all the while the bounty hunter was catching up. 'Once i get rid of the Twilek, how am i going to get rid of an unnaturally fast bounty hunter?' Kiren thought before deciding to stay on the present. His tactics were working and he was gaining ground on the Twilek but his tactics seemed to have no affect on the bounty hunter.

Kiren decided to do something risky, he stopped and looked back at the bounty hunter who was gaining ground fast.
The boy closed his eyes and focused 'Please work, Please oh please work…' he lifted his hand and focused all he could into a push before he started dashing down the alleyway again, not seeing if his focus had paid off.

To Senji’s own dismay or disappointment rather none of the two in front of him stopped as he had yelled out to them. Both continuing the chase. This didn’t discourage Senji terribly much though, his whole body feeling light as a feather, weightless as he moved over the ground below quickly gaining ground on the twi’lek and boy. As they neared the corner of the alley Senji leant into it, his boots sliding on the ground, dust flaring up beside him as his durasteel gaze fixed up on the two infront of him.

He had to admit, he was surprised by his own abilities, his training really had paid off it seemed. He wasn’t at the goal yet however and he knew that he would need to keep his focus, keep his iron grip, no... Beskar grip around his emotions, be in absolute control in order to bend his force usage properly. The large Twi’lek did seem like a challenge, but Senji was sure that he could figure out some way to not let this conflict result in violence, after all he saw himself as first and foremost a practitioner of form zero, a philosophy of sorts, instead of an actual lightsaber form instead focused on not even igniting your lightsaber. Of course this could not always happen and at times aggressive negations were needed in order to get a proper outcome of a situation.

Senji was gaining ground once again as he had continued his pursuit down the new alley, and fast. Unexpectedly however it seemed the boy was starting to use his share of tactics in an attempt to slow down both the twi’lek and Senji himself. As a large pile of garbage crashed down onto the ground, creating a sort blockade Senji saw the opportunity and leapt forward, passing the twi’lek on the right as he quickly gathered the last bits of his pool of force and send it through every bone in his body. He sprung powerfully into the air, spinning and rotating in a complex manner, leaping gracefully over the blockade of garbage in a peculiarity only a combatant would recognize as the ataru form. Out of the corner of his eye Senji saw that the boy had stopped his running and turned towards the twi’lek and himself a mere few meters ahead, a fact Senji interpreted as if the boy now knew the twi’lek wouldn’t do him any harm with Senji around to protect him. Something that made Senji use the last reserve of his gathered force, the feeling surging through him as he spun an extra couple of degrees in the air before landing softly on the ground, his breath heavy and his back turned to the boy, instead facing the twi’lek who was still aggressively fighting his way through the large garbage pile.

Senji slowly went to look over his shoulder after a half second of panting, a grimacing frown appearing on his face as he realized he had made a mistake. Now the same force presence as he had felt by the market before this chase, was now streaming visibly from the boy. Moreover, before Senji could even react and put up a protective barrier, exhausted as he was, a powerful ripple of force energy launched out towards him, carrying him into the air and sending him sprawling into the pile of garbage. He groaned as he fought himself back onto his feet, the twi’lek yelling something in an alien language at Sejni as he based, still chasing the boy.

With the realization that this boy was force sensitive, this whole chase had now suddenly become much more important. And with a focused frown hidden behind Senji’s durasteel mask he got back up onto his feet. Slowly starting to renew his energy, pulsing it through his body as he tried to gain ground, his speed however not as fast as before, obviously tired. "Gargh.. I'm not after you, son! I'm after the Twi'lek!"

"Gargh…i'm not after you, son! I'm after the Twi'lek!" the bounty hunter yelled behind him, Kiren wasn't willing to listen yet. He looked back to see if it was true, but only to see the man chasing after him and not the Twi'lek. 'Like i would believe that.' Kiren thought as he rolled his eyes and continued running. The bounty hunter was running at a much slower pace than before and Kiren had started to gain distance, he wanted to get into a better position if he really was going to bargain with the bounty hunter.

Kiren was beginning tire from the chase, the boy wasn't use to chases lasting as long as these, normally he would have lost them by now.
"If your really after the Twi'lek, then why are you running after me?! Bounty hunter!" Kiren yelled at the man behind him, he could tell the man was starting to gain distance again and Kiren couldn't keep up this chase for much longer. The boy rapidly started scanning the alleyway for any means of escape, he saw a corner ahead and quickly decided to turn at it.

As the turn approached, Kiren swung his arm out and swinged around it, as not to lose any speed 'Keep up with that.' the boy smirked until he was were the alley had taken him, right into a dead end. 'Not now!' Kiren cursed his back luck and looked back at the entrance of the alley, he could hear footsteps rapidly approaching and he doubted that he could make it back out.

The chase was on once more and Senji was at the back of it all, third place if you will as the Twi’lek had apparently had a moment to catch his breath as he had walked through the large piles of garbage, now scarily fast for one without the guidance of the force. Senji could not consider giving up now however, this whole situation had turned out to be a lot more important than it had first seemed. He thought back to an old lesson with his former master, where he had told Senji about the importance of making sure young force sensitives were given the opportunity to get into the academy for training, mainly because one with force powers roaming the galaxy could easily fall into disarray with their own feelings. It was a risk for themselves and Senji for one understood this all too well. Not that he had been on his own ever, but he could imagine that if he had been dropped off anywhere, but the Ossus Academy as a kid, he would properly have… Lived a completely different life.

Senji adjusted his robes a bit after the fall as he started to run once more, his speed steadily picking up as he tried to push his limits, quickly starting to feel the surge of the force ripple through him once more, as he once more held grasp on his mind, turning off all unnecessary thought and ponder. Senji was close, the ground underneath him hammered against his boots as he came closer and closer to the two. However, unexpectedly the boy swung around a corner and the Twi’lek was just about to follow in his running pace. Oddly enough, he instead stopped just by the entrance to the alley, slowly walking in after the boy, letting out a threatening laughter of what he took as the imminent beat up of the boy, the metal pipe held in the Twi’leks large hand. “Yu noo so smart now, eh?” Apparently, the twi’lek had not realized that Senji was still approaching the two, concentrated as he slowed his pace and stopped behind the twi’lek. “I’m no bounty hunter…” Senji said with his bass toned and formal voice, addressing both the twi’lek and the boy to make clear he was not here for credits, his demeanor confident and face unseen behind the durasteel mask as his eyes locked onto the back of the twi'leks neck for a second or two: “Sir, please stand down.” He said hardly, his gaze changing a bit to look towards Kiren, his voice a little lighter: “That was a very interesting display of skill you showed back there.” A sincere compliment.

Senji adjusted his posture a little as he awaited the two in front of hims reaction, a hand going to rest by his thick leather belt where his curved hilt lightsaber was clearly displayed.

Kiren's face turned to horror as the Twi'lek turned the cornor, the alien grew a sadistic grin as he realized the situation. The alien let out an evil chuckle as he started walking down the alley, towards him 'Is that so?' Kiren thought before taking a large bite out of the fruit in his hand to spite the alien.
The Twi'lek frowned at his action "Yu noo so smart now, eh?" he said in broken speach.
"Says the person who couldn't pass galactic standard class." Kiren countered back.

Kiren suddenly noticed that the bounty hunter from before was now standing behind the Twi'lek 'Great, just what i need.' Kiren thought sarcastically before the bounty hunter spoke. "Im no bounty hunter" the man spoke in a bass and formal tone from behind his mask. The boy blinked, the mans statement had suprised him thoroughly. The man continued talking and gave him a compliment about his skills "Thank you." Kiren said before giving a sarcastic and exaggerated bow.

Kiren awaited nervously as he awaited the Twi'leks reaction, while he was waiting he noticed something displayed on the mans belt, he examined it for a moment, blood rushing to his head 'No way! He's a je-' his train of thought was interupted as the alien inexplicably charged, clear rage shown in his eyes as he prepared to bring down the pipe.
