Just Another Routine Mission

Empress Teta System

Mozos

Aboard Tu5k-Class Corvette; Talon 3

~Several Hours ago~
The bridge was silent as usual. The Galactic Alliance war path on the One Sith had calmed down significantly in the last few months and even though the Shriek-Hawks, a Mandalorian company, was a registered mercenary company on retainer with the Alliance the recent upswing of Mandalorian militarism had caused a large amount of distrust and suspicion towards such a large fully Mandalorian force in their territory. As a result the Shriek-Hawks for the most part had been assigned to dead jobs like this.

The captain sighed.

"Disengaging hyperdrive."

"Board is green. Radar is clear."

Talon 3 dropped out of hyperspace with two other Tu5k-class corvettes, Talon 1 and Talon 2.

"We're wasting our time. Four days searching up and down this sector and we haven't found any sign of Sith activity."

The captain sighed and pressed his fingers to his helmet,

"Four Alliance ships gone missing here in the past month. Something happened to them."

"My money's on slavers," chimed the coms officer, "Border systems like this are crawling with them." Almost on que the Sensor Tech's screen lit up.

"Picking something up on the long range scanner. Unidentified vessel. Hmm, looks like a cruiser."

"Doesn't match any known signatures," added the helmsman.

"Cruiser is changing course. Now on intercept trajectory. Picking up one, no, two three more ships dropping out of Hyperspace."

He didn't get to finish his sentence, the captain slammed his fist on the ship-wide com,

"Alright vode we've got a fight on our hands. Don't know who or what it is, but its probably Sith! We're outgunned. The Talons are a brawling squad though, so lets get our shebs in gear and get ready to fight!"

Location: Surface - Mozos

Sturgis sucked his teeth. He could feel the blaster bolts slamming against the stone wall behind him. How had this karking mission gone so bad? Talon 1 and 2 were still up in space. Talon 1 had evacuated and landed on Mozos, which he was learning was one hell of a vacation destination. The winds were harsh and throwing off his aim, there were TONS of Sith, apparently the remnants of the Sith occupational force of Empress Teta had turned to piracy and the Mandalorian assault group was just their newest target.

Sturgis popped over the wall and pulled the trigger, dual wielding Mandalorian blaster pistols. He felt a bolt hit him square in the knee. He winced, but the pain was dulled. He had already hit the Celeber pretty hard.

Just another routine mission.

Rex pumped his combat shotgun and stuck it over the wall and shot blind as he tried to comm his clan mates.

"God damn signal's jammed grengo." He said as a Sith soldier let out a shout followed by a thud to the ground.

He had been on this hunt for the fun mostly and well sometimes you just get what you ask for. He looked to his squad mates and gave a short chuckle.

"That's one for me pendejos." He said cocking the weapon again, "I'm going to take them all and send you all home with no kills."

He could tell that the coms were chatty. Transcribed conversations were continuously scrolling down his HUD. One would think this would be a pain, but really Sturgis didn't even notice it half the time. Only when messages came up in color did his attention turn to the eternal wall of text. This was one of the many light challenges he faced as a deaf soldier. For instance, Rex Cholo's constant bravado chatter was almost completely ignored by the pistol sharpshooter.

He grunted, seemingly in response, also it may have seemed like a challenge to Rex. Sturgis vaulted over the wall and dashed to the nearest cover point blasting away as he went.

GA and Shriek-Hawk Reinforcements en-route.

'Finally,' Sturgis thought to himself, 'We can get out of this hellhole.'

Estimated Arrival time: 50 Min.

The message was sent to all of the Shriek-Hawks. They could do this. They could hold out for an hour.

Immortal

Oh the Empress Teta System, a wonderful place for bureaucracy and cults of the Dark Side to thrive. A former safety net for the One Sith, and the home of the thriving, but hidden, Krath. Like a cancer through the heart of some majestic, beautiful, creature, Xzav's men and women had eyes and ears all over the system - the perks of brokering a deal with a dim-witted, but good-willed, youthful Empress. Keep them dumb and naive, he always said. 'You can ascend to the throne if you become the face of the Krath - it's "leader".' He recalled writing. It was the only way he had communicated with the Empress of the system when he wasn't talking through another member of the Krath's nobility. She thought she was in control, that she could change her homeworld and the system at large. What. a. farce.

Xzav Ine, militant leader of the Krath, found himself standing in an unlit room of a carbonite mining facility on Mozos with a trio of men, former One Sith. While he most certainly had no alliance to the remaining Sith that straggled throughout the system like rabid dogs, or ties with the slew of recent piracy that sprang up, the Phorosian did intend to use all of these events to his advantage. As the defence forces of Empress Teta, the planet, and its neighboring worlds - all falling under command of its capital planet - defended itself with its own troops, not those of the Alliance or, even formerly, the Sith, any influx in terror, military and guerrilla strikes on its people, meant an increase in warm bodies hired to fill their ranks. And what better way to infiltrate a system's military than to enlist and start from the roots? Like tainted water the Krath would be pulled through the inner workings of the System until his words would be whispered, with confidence, into the ear of its public leader.

As for why he was on Mozos? What better way to bring alarm and worry to miss Lily Kuhn than to make her think that a small contingent of the One Sith still remained on her worlds?

Arming the Sith by "misplacing" an arms transport was certainly one way to do it.

"And you don't want any payment for these blasters?" The robed Sith, some nameless Acolyte saber-jockey, asked with some mild confusion - unable to comprehend, or perhaps too lax to be weary, of what was obviously too good to be true.

"You being here, using these blasters, is payment enough, friend." Xzav answered in his trademark monotone voice, clearly altered through a device of some sort in order to keep his identity a secret.
