Just A Trip to the Store

She rubbed her temples in agitation. Finally, she had passed her Mentor inspection. After years of patience and studies. And they send her to fetch materials. While she didn't mind going 'grocery' shopping, she preferred in a place nearby. Not, you know, a few planets away. The Jal Shey engineers had demanded someone to go and pick up their order of saber gems and such. The order also came along with a requirement to hire muscle to help with transport.

Of course, like always, Xeni would be chosen. She had a suspicion that some of the engineers like to tease her from time to time. She was far from a people person and had a legendary dislike for cantinas. Too noisy, too stuffy, too crowded, and too foul at times. So what better way was to 'welcome' her to the Jal Shey family? Tch.

She took a deep breath in and started to observe the occupants of the establishment, judging to see which one of these travelers would be trustworthy to help transport Jal Shey property.

Jericho finally reached the small village in Naboo that he was familar with after being in the deep forest for little over a month for his regular but extremely rigorous saber and force training. He was able to get into the village with the greatest of ease with out causing a commotion, stowing away a huge caravan going into the village. He placed his breathing mask on and blended with the people wrapping his saber in dirty looking wraps to make them look as if they were just farms tools to hide the fact that he was a jedi. Even though he wore battle torn jedi robes, many worn the robes to impersonate jedi before or wore them as trophies after killing a jedi. So really, he wasn't too worried about that part at all, since he was also wearing mandalorian light battle armor underneath. He looked to the sky for a moment then continued his walk into the city, it was crowded as usual.

Thinking about it, takes off his mask letting out a slight yawn, last thing he wanted was to look too suspicious and people with masks tend to look exceptionally suspicious. But for a little while he was conflicted on whether or not to wear his mask due to the fact that he didn't like people seeing his face. In the end he submitting to his awkward need to hide his face and kept the mask on. Another day, another bottle of wine and other varies drinks of the universe. He was by no means a wine connoisseur but with his travels he was able to experience the many tastes of Republic, the wookies, the mandalores and so on. With that stated he went to the usual cantina and headed to the bar, though Jericho's face wasn't known, his look was integrated in the minds of the regulars. His first time here a numerous amount of bandits picks a fight with his now deceased master; Jericho disapproved and ended their immature attempts of bullying. The cantina went still for a moment as he walked to the bar. Taking a seat, he signaled the bartender for a drink sitting quietly and keeping to himself as had always done.

The bartender nodded and passed over a drink and as usual Jericho barely took off his mask to quickly finish his drink. When gently put it down, looked around to check out the rundown bar; it was filled with the regulars; mercenaries, drunkards, bandits whatever the cantina generally attracted. But there was a new face a woman that was seemingly blind; an odd place for a woman of her stature to be at. She didn't seem to be scum like most of the people that were here but he could always be wrong. But something compelled him to keep an eye on her to keep her safe from harm; it was an unnatural thing for him to do. It could be the jedi order's teachings, no it was his master's teachings, now that she passed on he now really took in her lesson. He let out a sigh and then walked over to the woman as though he was being nagged by her ghost.

The man took a seat next to her and didn't say a word for a moment but again he was compelled to say something. Speaking wasn't really his strong suit but for whatever reason he felt like he needed to initiate the talk. He opened his mouth but words didn't come out, what was he suppose to say? He hasn't really initiated a casual conversation before. Jericho closed his mouth a took a moment to think what to say. Then he remembered watching something, some play or soap opera on his holocron. He remember a man speak to a woman in a suave manner. 'Hey beautiful.' the man said leaning to the woman. 'You come here often?' That was all Jericho could remember from the holocron but he wasn't complete sure whether or not that was proper edict for starting a casual conversation.

But still, he tried to attempt to mimic the actor but failed in his attempt to do so. Instead he stood up straight and tried to smile even though it could not be seen under his white breathing mask. He placed his hand the the table as gently as he could and abruptly killed the silence. "Hello." Jericho said his usual stern and low tone. His voice sounded like he was about to start some sort of extortion to the woman and his battle-torn robes and armor didn't help the image he was trying to portray.

"Hello."
Xenia tensed. Wait a minute. Rewind. Xenia ran through the recent sequence of events. She had been observing the lot of bafoons for two hours before this masked stranger entered, silencing the cantina to a whisper. She had shoo'ed enough drunkards to last her a lifetime, and her cloak had met its max capacity of drunkard stumbles and spills, stains now decorating it. The humidity and heat of the Naboo cantina did not help the smell of the putrid alcohol and it was sticking to her. Her hair was also sticking to the nape of her neck, and frankly she felt like a sweltering rat in Wookie fur.

She was about to leave the cantina for another, or leave the planet altogether. While the thought of wasting time to find hired muscle made her grimace, it seemed like she would have to, if she wanted to find someone she could trust and be willing to travel with. Then, out of the blue, the man sat next to her. They were silent for a little while, making Xeni's mind swirl with confusion. Did she need to run for it? His Force shined like those of Jedi, but perhaps her vision was going bad?

Fast forward to now. The man had taken the initiative to speak, though it was far from friendly. Or, was that just him naturally? She stared at him before gently taking his hand that had been placed on the table. Her fingers began to sign into his palm. While she could probably telepathically speak to the man, she did not want to startle him with that sudden intrusion. That, and he could get violent should she. If sign language failed, then she always had her datapad in her satchel while she really wanted to avoid that.

'Hello. May I help you?'

Xeni tilted her head at the stranger in slight interest and full wariness..

@[member="Jericho"]: I'm sorry it is not as long. :(

There was another awkward pause after he said his hello. Taking his time looking around in the area he noticed that some of the regulars started to chuckle at him knowing full well that he was in an awkward position. That laughter was quickly stopped as he glared over to them intense, the other men quickly went back to the their drinking. 'Why is talking such a difficult thing? I can fight gloaxs and rancor, but I can't speak to a damn person?' He thought to himself. The answer came by itself, he was Lorrdian, he and his family were 'slaves' the whole human populous was they weren't allowed to speak. Instead to communicate they would either have to sign to and really be in tune with body language. Most humans and other sentient beings had other ways to speak to one another with words.

Telepathy, holocron, voice emitters; all things Jericho was used to but not used to using. His master continually tried to make him speak, to make him open him and for the most part failed in that mission. The only person he really opened up to was her but in assumption she may have taken that as a victory. Though he would never truly know if it was to her or not. He closed his eyes resting his weapons upon his lap and his head into one of his hands unsure what to say next to the woman in front of him.

Then he hears a voice call out to him, he looked over to a man sitting across the room from him. Unexpectedly he felt a hand touch his, which made him tense up and almost cringe but the touch was soft, warm, a feeling he was not used to. This was his first actual, for lack of a better word, embrace with another human outside the silent conclave. It was an awkward feeling to say the least but it felt natural, it felt Lorrdian; He felt her touch sway a move briskfully as if she was making words.

She was signing with him.

The normally intimidating and near-emotionless man, could not be feel slightly excited to meet a person that would sign. Though he has been on numerous missions and met all kinds of beings, he either had to fight them or let them do all the talk since they already knew why he was midst their presence. But there wasn't enough excitement to be seen through his gruff exterior. He grabbed the woman's hand and started his reply in sign, his touch was surprising gentle with every stroke of his finger similar to a scholar or loving teacher.

"I am not well-verse in the art of conversation and seemed to have frightened you. So for that I apologize and for my intrusion but you seemed out of place. But back to the subject at hand. What brings you to a place like this? It's not for the company, I assume. No, are you here to hire someone for some type of mission?" He signed, revealing his actual intelligence and experience with people, was more than that of a brute. He continued to sign with her.

@[member="Xeni Kraylu"]: No worries still a good post :)

Xeni jumped slightly when the man signed back to her with, dare she say, mild enthusiasm? Most individuals upon finding out she's mute (but not deaf) would either write or talk. This was a first. She had been slightly embarrassed when she noticed him tense at her touch. Xeni was known for crossing social boundaries without knowledge which landed her in more trouble than she needed. But, thankfully, this man was actually .... content with such communication? His touch was gentle and quite experienced, which made her internally sing with joy. Finally, someone was smart enough to know sign language! Now if only most people in this galaxy was, she would never have to deal with that horrid datapad ever again.

"I am not well-verse in the art of conversation and seemed to have frightened you. So for that I apologize and for my intrusion but you seemed out of place. But back to the subject at hand. What brings you to a place like this? It's not for the company, I assume. No, are you here to hire someone for some type of mission?" She raised an eyebrow at the young man. He seemed capable and so far the most polite (and sober, for that matter) individual in the establishment. Surely, she could use him, no? A moment of silence before she touched his palm again. Calloused and rough. She took a moment to trace the lines in his experienced before jolting back to reality.

'Er.. Why, yes.Yes, I am. It's a simple pick-up of materials and deliver mission, but my elders were being stubborn and demanded me to hire help.' She paused before taking the leap of faith. 'I do not suppose you'd be willing to help? I'm not much trouble and the Jal Shey would pay once the cargo was safely delivered." She tilted her head, her chestnut hair falling over her blindfold. Hopefully, he wouldn't be offended by the idea of escorting a Miraluka.

He continued with keep his eyes closed and continued to 'listen' to what she had to say with every soft stroke she made on the palm on his hand. A simple delivery mission; was it so simple that it needed a hire hand from a cantina? Jericho sarcasm at it's worst, but paid no mind to that for she asked the right person to help. Most of these bandits and mercenaries were cut throats. Being force in the way of light he wasn't allowed to cut down unless given proof and absolutely necessary, after all he did believe in the laws of life, but also in the laws of death.

When she asked the question Jericho was more than happy to answer, again with a gentle stroke he spoke to the young mistress. 'As you wish.' He started off. 'There is no need for payment. Being able to find a person that I may actually communicate with is a reward in itself.' He said politely. Well that and he was a Jedi as the code of the Silent Conclave one should serve and help the needy to the best of one's ability or at least he thought so. He grasped her small delicate hands with his own firm larger hands as a sign of a new friend.

'But if you don't mind gracing me with another reward...' He said with a pause, this would be a first for him to do. 'What is your name? Since I rather not just refer you as miss.' Yes, this was the first time Jericho made an attempt to ask for someone's name. He cared little of what race, color, height, weight a person was, rather he didn't care at all. If needed Jericho was the one to be approached and asked not the other way around. So him asking her for her name was rather a big deal; language does wonders in the matters of social interaction.

@[member="Xeni Kraylu"]

Her name? A reward? She tilted her head in mild confusion. Maybe to herself, but to others? She pondered the man and his behavior as he gave a friendly squeeze to hers. He seemed capable of talking but desired touching instead. She took another quick inspection of the male. Human. I guess it was natural considering humans were quite a wild card in this galaxy.

She finally consented into telling him her name. She turned their joined hands over and signed on his forearm. 'Xeni. Xeni Kraylu. I'm a member of the Jal Shey. And you are..?' She smiled softly at the man. She could tell that he out of his comfort zone, though she sort of was a fish out of water as well. She suddenly felt stares prickling her body, and glanced around the cantina. There were several onlookers, and even some shocked faces. Was he that intimidating of a force here? She stilled, wary of those around them. Perhaps they should move to a safer place to discuss business.

'I'm sorry to be sudden," Another glance around the room," but perhaps we should move..?" Her body was starting grow tense and that was never a good sign.

Jericho was the type of man that noticed every little detail. Every. Single. One. At least when it can to body language and movement; it was an aspect that made him so dangerous. His ability of kinetic communication can allow him to almost depict what his foe is planning, thinking, and even what or how they are feeling just from seeing a shrug of a shoulder or a turn of a body, there was that and he was well verse in most saber form and had a great mastery of the force. But his ability of kinetic communication came from his natural heritage of being a Lorrdian.

Noticing the slight tilt of her head, he could tell that his action confused the woman as he was about to apologize to his unnatural invasive behavior. But she turned their and and told him, her name. In turn he did the same and signed on her forearm thinking that was how it was done where ever she hailed from. 'I am Ghost.' He signed and stopped letting out sigh. He wrote down his nickname and now codename for mission and for a moment debated whether or not he should give her, his actual name. After a quick moment, he decided to do so after all he was the one that declared the friendship and he would just look more foolish if he did not. 'I mean...' He started off. 'I am Jericho and I am a Jedi though I am no longer part of the order.'

His mood changed drastically when his focus changed from her to the crowd around them. His eyes cold but piercing, most as always looked away but some continue to stare some wanting to pick a fight and other just wanted to stare but all for one thing. The woman, they seemed to be fascinated; enthralled even by this woman. Despite his defensiveness side showing, his hands remained gentle with every movement made to sign. 'It is no problem, I am glad to be of service. Let us take our leave.' Jericho stood up showing that he was early a foot taller than the woman and and close to double of her size. He place one hand on one of his three sabers and took the lead to guide her or rather...

...Still assuming that she was blind due to her cloth over her eyes. He thought of the most gentlemenly thing to do for a new found friend, he picked her up and using the force to greatly increase his speed. He sped out the cantina and once out gently placed her on the ground once more. He again took her hand to speak to her. 'You'll have to guide the way.....Kraylu.' He said referring her to her last name. Baby steps. Baby steps for his relationships with people.

She always hated to be stared at. It unnerved her, making her assume that she had done socially wrong once again. Most Miralukians could, you know, communicate properly and actually maneuver conversation. But the back slums of Katarr did not give her much decorum and losing her voice at fourteen made her even more awkward. Her avoidance of the more diplomatic Jal Shey only increased the lack of etiquette.

She stifled a small giggle at the ticklish fingers on her forearm. She had made the mistake of doing it on his since he probably thought that's what she always did. Though, in actuality, Xeni signs wherever she feel. Shoulder, hand, cheek. She paused in that thought. She should probably fix that habit. He mentioned that his name was Ghost before hesitating and changing it to Jericho. Well, which one was she supposed to use? Though, the tid bit about being a Jedi was not surprising since he basically filled her vision with his Force. Not being part of the Order sort of perked her interest but she did not delve into it. He was after all just hired help, and perhaps an interesting companion, but nothing else.

She sighed out of relief at his consent to leave. However, she almost fell out of her chair at the mere sight of his full height. Goodness! She wasn't that short was she? No. She concluded, pouting. Everything else in the galaxy was abnormally tall it seems.

However, the surprise of his height did not compare to the shock of being picked up and rushed out. She squeaked as she held onto his neck. W-wait a minute! Give a person some warning here! Her breathing was a little out of whack when he finally set her down. She looked at him before snickering, her loud laugh filling the telepathic channels. He took her hand and motioned for her to lead the way. He had called her Kraylu. Her shoulders slumped a little and a sad smile crawled onto her face. Memories of an aging man being scolded by an equally aging woman came to mind. She shoved the memories to the side as she signed back into Jericho's hand.

'I'd be glad to Mr. Jericho. My ship isn't all that big but it should fit both our need comfortably. We need to head towards the outskirts of town. Unless.. you need anything?' She turned her chin up, tilting her head in inquiry.

@[member="Jericho"]

Jericho's mind refrained a violent growl at her as she sent telepathic laughter into his skull and drove into his mind. Not due to the fact that she was laughing; he found it somewhat appealing but it was overshadowed by his dislike for telepathy. Only master Seren was allow to create a mind link with him only because she needed to do so during missions, the times it was necessary. He felt like it was an invasion of privacy that she was able to peak into his mind and see his actions and choices he was force to make. Naturally he created barriers using the force through countless hour of meditation but for whatever reason he let down his guard around the woman.

Maybe because he was taught better not to hurt an innocent; maybe because he didn't ruin a possible friendship; even maybe he was already growing fond of the woman. Whatever the reason, he kept reflexes from striking at the woman and merely clenched his fist and took in a deep breath of the refreshing Naboo air. The thing was if he didn't allow his master to speak with him telepathically without consent, he wasn't about to allow anyone else. But while the mind link set established he would use it, as he needed a moment before touching her.

But before he could say a word, he noticed her shoulders slump and a frown on his face. His Lorrdian side took hold and he began to look into the woman's actions, a feeling of sadness? From the slump of her shoulder and the slight bow of her head he could easily tell that she was thinking of a past memory, something that he was all too familiar with. He reached to her in attempt to the comfort her but ultimately stopped himself from doing so, this was uncharacteristic of him to even try. Just there was something about her that made him want to act out. It may have been she was just as if not more than awkward than he was, in the end he shook his head an turned.

He tooked in another deep breath of air to calm his nerves after take a moment to calm himself he resigned his hand to allow her to speak with him once more. He preferred this way anyway. Hopefully he kept his composure enough so that she wouldn't notice his more than mild dislike for telepathy. He gently took her hand and replied, "No, I am ready to go whenever you are and I am fairly adaptive to my surroundings." He 'said' in a gentle tone.

@[member="Xeni Kraylu"]

He was tense, if not on edge. The air practically sizzled with... anger? But slowly it died down as he responded with same, and now deliberate, gentleness. Xeni digested what had happened. Did she do something wrong? She wracked her head and analyzed her every action (and words), scouring for an answer. A slow realization.

Did her mental laugh accidentally transmit to the channels and he had heard? Had it perhaps even hurt him? She hadn't felt a barrier, so she didn't even notice. Xeni's face paled. She had experienced first hand what it felt like to have her mind invaded and it hurt. Incredibly so if your barrier was torn down quite viciously. She swallowed and then slowly, as if making sure she didn't break a fragile vase, she lifted his hand to her forehead as she bowed. Her way of apologizing for what she may have done.

Then, just as careful she signed into his palm. 'I. . . did not realize. I hope..it did not hurt. I will try to be more careful. My apologies, Mr. Jericho.' She offered him a small apologetic smile as she continued on. The fact that he didn't violently react towards her intrusion (if she did) calmed her fear, if just slightly. 'If everything is fine, then we will head to our first destination, Ilum. It's quite a bit away, so if you need me to make a stop...' She trailed off, her mind detouring to things she could explore or find on the way. She always got sidetracked on missions and the engineers had not exactly ordered it to be done quickly. She grinned unconsciously, her mind wandering and her eyes shining. What fun this might turn out to be!

Jericho watched patiently as she continue to speak with him through sign, covering himself into a more bearable appearance. Patting his hands to his cheeks in an attempt to regain her composure she stood up from the blood patch of floor and looked over to the man. He seemed to try so hard to keep his spirits and ego up after being found in such a distressful state. Admirable as it may have been to the others, he felt it was fool hardy to try and keep up the charade in such a condition. He knew it too well from his brothers and sister was NOT going to stab by and let this woman take the brunt of it.

Striding up at the side woman, the steel boots he wore clacking against the hard ground with each step. She smiled a small apologetic smile and made her apology. Setting his fingertips to her bare forearm he ran his fingers up to her shoulders, as a sign of forgiveness; at least that is what it how it was done. She seemed timid on that action, thought he could not truly tell nor understand; he did what he could, he did his best.

But telling from her actions, he felt like he should establish their boundaries. How about he dropped his tough guy act? Act? No, it wasn't an act it was who he was but then again he wasn't completely himself with her; she pulled a more open version of him through just sole sign speech, an oddity to say the least, but that is what was going on. Jericho once again replied, "Just Jericho....Kraylu...I mean....Xeni. I travel here solely for training, so the innkeeper generally keeps my room intact. Unless someone is in need of it. But now that I think about it will will need a change of clothes among a few other things." He noticed her smile, without thinking he signs gently as usual on the top of her hand. "You have a nice smile....Xeni." He said getting used to calling her by her first name.

@[member="Xeni Kraylu"]

He had forgiven her and that made her greatly relieved. She would most definitely have to be careful how loud her thoughts are so it did not happen again. Most beings usually had natural or artificial barriers so coming across this problem was far and in between.

Oh? Clothes? She tilted her head then nodded. Her scanner did need a quick look at and she could feel the bottom of her boots wearing away from her adventures, which made her quite proud. She had the pair since she began travelling around. About two years before she was granted the title of being a Mentor. That was a good sign that she was living just the way she wanted to. 'I too need some new boots, though I don't mind going barefoot either. But I've met a good number of floral that had deterred me from that..' She grimaced internally at the particular memory. Best way to learn how to climb trees.

He mentioned her smile, and she paused. Small pangs of relief bounced in her. At least something was nice about her. It was a strange confession, but Miralukas did not know what they themselves looked like. Mirrors (along with a plethora of other items) did not work for them. So usually, if need be,they would just describe each other. Her parents would always whisper how precious she was before bedtime when they had just returned home. While she appreciated the affection, she did not take their words to heart. They were biased in a way. Then again, she really didn't care about how she looked. As long as she was clean. Occasional, she would trim her hair.

But his compliment just made her cheeks pink and her grin grow. A small giggle as she signed into his hand. 'Why, thank you. I'll keep that in mind. So, any recommendations on where to find a good pair of boots around here?'

Jericho kept a casual look on his face as the woman as she let out a little giggle. He pondered what was going through her head when he cheeks turned pink as a rose. Perhaps it was wrong of him, to tease her, if he did actually tease her. To see such a being, causing destruction on her precious burial ground, or maybe he was jut being a tad dramatic. Such a feat for him to do, he honestly did not know whether or not it was a good thing that he cause a reaction, despite the fact that she was grinning.

“I’ll grant you your wish and in time I hope for you to return the favor…” He gently grasped her hand and signed. He thought that it was her way of asking him for a new pair of boots of her size. Still thinking that she was blind he kept a slight hold on her hand and guided her to the nearest shop in the area. Jericho wasn't a racist or unobservant; besides what seemed to be obvious disabilities cared little about one's race.

"We drop by the shop first before heading to the inn I am staying at." Jericho signed guiding her to the shop once there he released her hand and knelt down to look at her feet and got a quick measurement and quickly went into the shop and before she could even take a step in he walked out with a pair of adventuring boots made for travel in most terrain.

He over stepped his over comfort zone and lightly signed on her warm shoulder. "I hope these are satisfactory and to your liking." The insides were made of the warm fur of animal indigenous to the planet of hoth, it was soft and well padded for comfortably. The outside made of skin almost as tough as rancor and could take a ridiculous amount of damage; in terms of boots.

@[member="Xeni Kraylu"]: sorry for taking so long and the lameness of the post.

Xeni stared blankly at the boots he had handed her. She was curious as why he treated so gently, as if fragile. She had always thought she was pretty sturdy, but perhaps she was wrong? A raised eyebrow as she quickly discarded her worn and abused boots, putting on the new boots. A sigh of comfort and relief escaped her as she wiggled her feet in the boots. Now, these...these were boots. She smiled, and nodded that they would be fine for the time being.

It was right about then that Xeni had stumbled on what could possibly explain Jericho's behavior. He thinks...I'm a blind human? She smacked herself in the forehead. How could she forget to tell him that she was a Miraluka? There were a good majority of people who mixed the two until Miralukians take off their face protection. It would be severely troublesome for him if he constantly thought he had to escort her. Sweet intentions, but not needed nor practical. Biting her lower lip, she grabbed his hand.

'I'm very grateful for the shoes. Er...Um.. I'm not sure if I told but... I'm a Miraluka,' she paused, a small frown on her face. 'I hope I didn't trouble you into thinking otherwise....'
-----
@[member="Jericho"] : I can't say much. These finals are killing me. o.e

"Please forgive me for my ignorance. In my many travels I have yet to meet other Miraluka. You're the first." He explained. That was the truth, He has read countless number of holocrons and watched numerous holo-vids on history of almost every known race so he knew of the Miraluka. He has been around to many planets and space spots and he has seen many different sentient and non-sentient beings but she was the first one. Though he never read that they were extinct, due to the lack of interaction of any he was let to believe that either were, secluded on a planet he has yet to travel to or just disappeared.

From her presence alone, it was obvious that he was foolish to think that of her and her race. He was almost to the point where he felt some sort of embarassment. Almost.

Jericho stood still as a warm breeze blew past him. It was all to obvious to him at that point when she had mentioned that she was not blind but that of a species near-human as he was. He thought of giving himself and smack to his brain realized that she was not blind and the Miraluka race was all force sensitive and they saw every thing through a master ranked force sight. Looking around the woman up and down, Jericho eyes spotted the little things that would of made it even more obvious to him that she was not by any means handicapped.

As he approached the thought of it he realized it was not a big deal but he felt like that was some sort of an insult to her, thinking that she was blind and made it clear as day that he thought so. Keeping one hand on hers to secure it, he gently signed again. "I suppose that explained the head piece over your face." Beginning to get frustrated by his own ignorance to Xeni and possibly causing a situation. "I hope I did not insult you in any way by treating you as such." He apologized and hoping to explain why he did such things for her more thoroughly.

Insult? After a moment's deliberation, Xeni could see how someone might be offended. But he meant well, so why be so? She smiled and shook her, standing up to brush off any dirt. But now that she thought about it..... Was this boy human? He looked practically identical to a human, but was he in fact something else? Should she know? Does it matter? A small pout and a shake of the head. He'd say something if he wanted to.

'No offense taken. Just thought it would severely handicap you if you had to drag me around,' she grinned, looking around. She had what she needed. Now to this mentioned inn to fetch his and they could be on their way. Hopefully, this mission wouldn't be too troublesome and, after all, it's not dangerous or anything. Signing on his hand once again, 'So, what's next on the list, Captain?' A small tease of a smile forming. 'You said you needed to fetch things? Should I come along or should I prep the ship? It's hard miss since it's right on the outskirts of this town.' She inquired, wanting to go as soon as possible.

She was correct, it would have been a hassle if he would have to take care of her while trying to complete a task. Though it was obvious that he did not mind doing so, he was more the type of man to get things done as quick as possible. She was wise to tell him so, otherwise he would of possibly miscalculated situations among other thing. But as he thought about it, he had held her hand. A small thing to think about for most, not so much for Jericho; a slight blush was hidden under his mask. Why? He was taught by his late master that was a sign of endearment. But did it count if they were using it for practical means? After all he had paid no mind when they were signing together and he paid no mind when he thought that she was blind and needed help. Jericho grunted in his own mind allowing such meaningless emotion to take hold. He scoffed a bit before signing with her once more.

"A wise thought." He started off. "But I glad I did not offend you by any means." He said with a bow of his head, an obvious sign for respect. Then she asked what was next on the next, noticing her cute smile formed once more as she asked the question. Was this the form of playfulness? Was she merely teasing and joking with him when she referred him as captain? He had never own a ship or had a crew and he was never part of a military branch to have a rank as such. And technically since she had hired him and had all the needed information she would be the commanding officer in this situation if rank of leadership needed to be put on someone. She also was the owner of the ship, he assumed. So really...She was joking with him, like a friend would.

For a moment he didn't answer her question mostly because he didn't know how to. Was he suppose to act just as playfully? Did he have to say a joke as well? Damn. For moments like these he wished he wasn't so dang awkward. He kept a silence until she mentioned he need to get his things and prep to get off of this planet. For a moment again he hesitated to sign on the palm of her hand before concentrating on the task at hand. "I do, go ahead and prep the ship, I will be there shortly." He started off, he didn't want her to follow mostly best his room was a 'mess', at least it was in his mind. "The trip with be rather long, do you want me to gather food supplies and drink for the trip as well?" He asked thoroughly getting ready.

When he did not respond to her jokes, she noted that maybe, perhaps, she should walk into conversations with some smaller steps. She's used to working with people, not over them.

Hm? Xeni noticed his hand heating up randomly before returning to normal, which puzzled her. Did he have a fever? Should she tell him nevermind and not to force himself? However, such thoughts were halted as he stated that it was a wise move (She was brilliant as always.) and bowed. Now that was something she's not used to receiving. She had always been the person trying to shrink away from sight. She'd always been the student, bowing in respect. This was new. Do you pat them on the head, shoulder, back? What does one do? The moment soon passed and she relaxed.

She about to turn and walk to the ship when he mentioned something about food. The thought brought about an orchestra of gurgles from her stomach. She tried not to laugh as her face started to turn a beet red. She ended up snickering before shaking her head. 'I..' she motioned, '..I have a uncanny knack for forgetting to eat, so it might be wise to bring that as well. I can give the money to buy it if you want,' She smiled. She couldn't see letters so trying to find out where the food store was like playing 'Eenie, Meenie' and usually she lost.

As he thought, she tapped her MMAD bracelet, waking it from its slumber. "Command?" the device bleeped out. Map a course to Ilum. Take note of any notable pit stops. A hologram map popped up, a line drawing shapes across the mini glalaxy. Mind you, she couldn't see the hologram but it was useful to others. The device whirred quietly before suddenly speaking again."Route to Ilum complete, including fourteen travel cities. Command?" Send information to the ship and program it for autopilot. "Sending of information to ship. Please wait. . ." The device whirred again, the hologram showing the steps before shutting it off.
