STRENGTHS
  • Hot Drop: Just in case of damage to the transport itself or in circumstances where proper landing zones are too dangerous, the Jurgoran does feature a drop pod bay to deploy squads, droids, and even light vehicles directly onto the battlefield. Additionally these pods do have heatshields, allowing them to survive orbital entry if the transport can't breach through to atmosphere itself.
  • Link Between: Featuring a dedicated communication suite, a somewhat modular cargo and transport bay, and a fairly decent carrying capacity, the Jurgoran Transport is designed to be the ideal link between an orbital fleet and a planetside army. They can assist in coordinating strikes from orbit while reliably ferrying troops to the frontline, making them an essential component for both planetary invasions and even defenses.
WEAKNESSES
  • Lightly Armed: While the weapons of the Jurgoran are respectable in their firing arcs and capability, for its size it is somewhat under armed and its guns are mostly meant as a deterrent and some ground support more so than anything else. Starfighters and especially other corvettes would be able to easily damage or even outright dispatch the transports if they were without any escorts.
  • Boots on the Ground: While light vehicles and even some more medium ones can be transported by the Jurgoran rather easily, heavier vehicles aren't part of their transport capabilities. This necessitates other transports for heavy vehicles and naturally means that initial landings are somewhat separated as a result, requiring more coordination and contact in order to ensure that all assets can be united after landing.
DESCRIPTION
Transports were in no short supply for the forces of Wonosa and certainly not for the wider Sith Order, however within the ranks of Wonosa in particular only the fairly small Vezioti shuttle was a dedicated troop transport vessel. The other transports were more so gunships, meant for quick deployment of squads rather than bringing in proper invasion forces or transit for assaults. As such this gap in their arsenal needed to be filled and the Jurgoran Transport would be their method of doing so.

The Jurgoran, named for a beast native to Dromund Kaas, would be capable of transporting several squads and light vehicles across planets or from ships in orbit and can even act as a sort of impromptu command vessel planetside due to its sophisticated communcations array. Supplies can also naturally be easily transported within the ships as well, making them useful even well after the initial invasion force has been landed. Drop pods were integrated into the design mainly for the utility of being able to deploy without a proper landing zone, allowing it to deliver its cargo and troops even while in orbit of a planet.
