Jump, jump, jump.. (Ataru training)

Templar Sanctum, Courtyard.

Krest stood in the courtyard, hands behind his head. The day was pleasant at least, no rain, no clouds. Just a blue sky and bright sun. For the moment he was waiting for @[member="Sanna Legra"]. He had every intention of training the girl in a form he enjoyed. Ataru. Always about jumping. Part of him figured she'd be good at the stance even before she learned it, but who knows.

Only time would tell.

Sanna had arrived a few minutes later than she was supposed to. Walking down into the courtyard with a half eaten fruit in hand she looked before spotting @[member="Krest"] and walking towards him. As she did she finished off the fruit as fast as possible before chucking what was left away. She wiped her mouth and walked in front of him so he would know it was her. Sanna reached down and felt the hilt of the saber staff she borrowed for today's training, it being her weapon of choice now

"Sorry I'm, late." she said. "I got up late and didn't have breakfast so I had to make a little detour is all."

Krest rubbed the back of his neck, looking @[member="Sanna Legra"] over. Saber staff, that was new. "Got into a duel blade eh? Can't say it's a bad choice." He offered a smile, moving his hands down to his sides. "I wouldn't say you're late. This isn't all that official of training, just me showing you the basics."

She looked down just to see for herself that @[member="Krest"] was mentioning it, making her look and smile before saying "Yeah well, to be honest, I didn't even know they had these types of sabers. I thought it was just one or you hold two of them. But this is far better if you ask me." She wiped her hands for a moment before drawing the saber staff, not activating it, and twirling it around in her fingers as she waited for her first lesson.

@[member="Krest"]

Krest nods his head. "It's more offensive then anything else, so it'll work with Ataru. Rather well actually." He rubs his chin a bit, thinking. He himself didn't use a staff, but hey, it's something new to learn. "Well, let's begin yes?" He motions for @[member="Sanna Legra"] to step closer.

"Yeah sure." Sanna said while starching behind her ear with the saber staff. Clearly it was her own mocking way of saying how she felt this would be easy. Despite her age Sanna still had a very rebellious underlining feeling towards things. The younger heart that still needed taming on her inside one could say. @[member="Krest"]

Krest thrust out his hand, sending a force push for her as she stepped close. Simple yes, but he wanted to see how she reacted. If she would evade, catch herself mid flight from it, or fall flat on her face. He'd study her reactions regardless anyway. Rebellious might get angry. So, he set a hand on his saber just in case @[member="Sanna Legra"] decided to attack him for it.

The force push knocked Sanna a little, she holding her arms up to defend herself in that moment. After recovering she activated her staff and charged, spinning it around herself like a shield for her body while reacting to whatever @[member="Krest"] would try. When she reached him she tried sweeping for his right side while bringing the staff around to hit the left a moment later.

Krest pushed off the ground, leaping his way back. He held up his hands, an apologetic smile on his face. "Just a test, just a test. We're not going to fight. Not yet at least. I wanted to see how much mastery over the force you had and how good your reflexes were. Both are important for Ataru." He rubs the back of his neck, once more watching @[member="Sanna Legra"].

She stopped when he indicated that was a test, she narrowed her eyes before holding the saber more casually and saying "Next time try not to seem so trigger happy." After that she waited to hear his assessment of how well she did for her first try.

@[member="Krest"]

Krest nodded slow before looking around. "You were able to withstand it, which is good. But, now I need you to jump." He points to the walls around them. They were high enough not to be reached without a force assisted jump, but not too high where you needed a lot of effort. "Jump up there." He then pointed to another wall. There was a large gap. "And jump to that wall." Simple tasks, that was all he had for @[member="Sanna Legra"]. For now.

Looking between the spots she smirked before turning her saber off and putting it back on her belt. Thanks to her torogian half, she was able to leap to each one with ease. When it came to the second gap she did use a little of the force to help, but only because she wanted to be extra sure of reaching the point. When she got to it she hung there, looking back down to @[member="Krest"] and waving to indicate she was doing fine.

Krest nodded. He figured @[member="Sanna Legra"] would be able to jump, and he was right. "Good. Alright. Now, I want you to jump at me. Use your saber. Attack me. I want you to continue to do so, never staying in the same place, but never running. Try and disarm me."

Looking down she hung from one hand in order to draw her saber staff. Sanna activated it before pushing herself off and leaping down towards him, her saber over her head for a striking motion. When she made contact on the first it, landing on he feet as well, she dropped and rolled to the side, making sure not to hit herself with her own saber as she did. Getting to her feet she attacked from the right before hoping over and trying at the left. As he'd said it was a matter of not being in one place for long and trying to disarm.

@[member="Krest"]

Krest ignited his blue saber, catching her first attack. He kept up with her, turning as she rolled and jumped, his blue blade flashing. He lept back, landing atop one of the low walls. He stayed there, his blade down to the side as he watched @[member="Sanna Legra"]. "Do not be afraid to leap back and back in. It is about having surprise and unpredictability on your side."

Sanna had jumped into a somersault when he'd told her not to be afraid of jumping in an out. Landing on her feet she took that into consideration before coming in with a sweeping motion with her attacks. Coming in high and changing to coming in low with each swing. When she reached @[member="Krest"] she waited until one sweep made contact and then leapt over him before trying to attack from behind, the first swing going for his right again.

Krest kept to the defensive, his blade moving quickly. With just one hand he moved to deflect her attacks, but it wasn't all that simple. He found himself pushed back a step before @[member="Sanna Legra"] leaped over him. He turned, barely able to catch her blade. He gritted his teeth then leaped down, flipping away. He kept his blade high, motioning for her to continue, still silent.

Seeing that @[member="Krest"] was keeping up Sanna began going on a more offensive stance. She lashed put with left and right attacks as much as possible, often swinging her body into it as she did. One swirl of her body had made her tail lash out, almost hitting Krest in the process. She she recovered she winked at him, showing that the saber wasn't her only weapon, before wrapping it around her waist to not loose it in some counter attack Krest would likely try to make.

Krest continued his smaller leaps backwards, using them to evade some of her cuts while blocking the rest with his saber. She was getting the hang of Ataru at least. Then the tail came. He blinked as it came by, then his free hand went to grab a hold of it, a frown on his face. "Unless you're attaching a blade to that, don't be swinging it around. You'll loose it." He slams down a foot, sending a ripple of the force out from under him to offset anyone still on the ground nearby. Which should be no one if @[member="Sanna Legra"] continued to jump.
