Voli never got used to getting up at the crack of dawn. She watched numerous Holovideos of Galactic Alliance recruits being forced to get up by screaming drill instructors and were sent on hours long physical training or PT as the recruits called them. Training as a Jedi, the approach was different sure Voli didn't get screamed at by her Master: Dreidi Xeraic Dreidi Xeraic but she set a lot of lofty expectations for her. She was required to not only get up at 5 in the morning but also make sure that her robes were neat and tidy, to learn how to deconstruct and reconstruct her training saber, continue to practice Shii-Cho and to meditate 5 times a day. It was tough for Voli to keep up and Dreidi could instantly tell if she was didn't perform her duties.

In many ways, Dreidi was not too dissimilar to a drill instructor, she didn't yell and curse at Voli but the discipline that she tried to instill in her was relentless. While Voli respected Dreidi at the same time, she wondered if Dreidi took pleasure in pushing her to her limits. Now after moving to Naboo, Voli continued her training under Dreidi but she had been taking missions under her Master's encouragement. Dreidi felt like Voli was ready to take on low level missions, Voli on the other hand felt the opposite. She was still green as the grass in the Naboo plains and Voli had to admit that she wasn't keeping up with her training as of late. She was still busy trying to unlock the Sith Holocron in her room.

Voli sat on the grass staring at the waterfall as she awaited for her Master to arrive. "Wonder what the lesson will be this time?" she thought with a baited breath.

Dreidi gave no stricter expectations than had been expected of herself as a Padawan and knew that she was never pushing Voli more than Voli could handle. She was not a cruel or someone who was going to demand more from Voli than Voli could handle. It was a mentorship based on trust and respect towards Voli and herself. Dreidi had similar experiences with Asaraa where she would push herself to achieve more and demonstrate that she was more capable than her Master realised. Voli wanted to do more missions and gain more experiences, then Dreidi needed to see the progress she had been making as a Jedi.

It had been clear that other focuses had gotten Voli distracted, whether it was the Sith holocron that Voli was attempting to be secretive about or something else, she did not know since the Padawan was not being truly honest with her. It was disappointing but she was hoping with time that would change. Dreidi figured that a training session which had Voli facing an obstacle course would peak the Padawan's interest again. She was curious to see what progress would have been made physically since they moved to Naboo and the terrain of Naboo was beautiful and perfect for doing some outdoor training.

Grisial appeared first, excited to be here since he loved tackling obstacle courses and running around. With Aileni now training as a Jedi, the Vulptex was eager for some attention and people to show off to. Dreidi teleported in not long after, her golden eyes gazing over to Voli. "Any guesses on what the training will be today?" Dreidi asked with a smile on her lips.

Voli continued to sit on the grass, her pale fingers slowly brushing against the blades which tickled against pale skin. As sterile as Voli found Naboo, she couldn’t help but feel relaxed against the temperate climate. The Sun was shining bright which actually caused Voli to smile. Normally, Voli would avoid the Sun if she could mainly because the sun no matter how warm it was made Voli feel as if she stuck was in a furnace. Oddly, Voli felt at ease perhaps it was the exercises that Dreidi told Voli to do in order to connect with the Force.

Voli did make progress in feeling the Force from the tree, Sun and even the rocks. They all thrummed with life and they worked in harmony to maintain a fragile balance. The Padawan took a deep breath relaxing and connecting to her surroundings. Breathe was something Dreidi continued to tell Voli. Breathe and clear her mind. Voli remembered struggled her mind filled with doubts and fears but she managed to mentally set them aside though they still remained.

Volis concentration was broken when she saw Giselle walking around excitedly. “Master is here,” Voli thought. “Let’s see what death trap she set up for me.”

“Hey!” Voli flicked some pet food towards Dreidis pet. They had a good relationship though she wondered if Dreidi liked if she fed him.

“Oh Master,”Voli got up and bowed to Dreidi. “Given that there’s a mountain here and a waterfall, I’m guessing you set up an obstacle course.”

She sighed. “Just a disclaimer Master.” Voli gave a sheepish grin. “I flunked out of PE during High School.”

Dreidi had no bad feelings on Voli giving Grisial treats, the Vulptex was already spoiled rotten by her own son so it was a losing battle for Dreidi to attempt to prevent others from adding to that. All she could do was ensure Grisial had a healthy diet and that he would be exercised a proportional amount to the amount of treats he would have in a day. Something the lazy Vulptex was not always keen on. Dreidi nodded her head at the mention of the challenge today being an obstacle course.

"Not just a normal one. It is one that will test your abilities with the Force. One can imbue themselves with the Force to move faster, jump higher and further than possible, see traps or trouble before the danger presents itself and increase your natural strength. Or buffer the lack of it." There was a teasing smirk on her lips since Voli mentioned flunking out of P.E. classes.

Stepping forward, "there are other ways to progress through such a course, such as teleporting as I do or phasing through the challenges. However, today is focused on enhancing yourself so that you can push your body further than you have before." Finding new limits when training and working out was always important. "Now, you can start right away or I can give a demonstration so you know what to expect."

Dreidi figured the answer would be the latter but hopefully Voli would be up for the challenge.

"Oh even worse," Voli casually tossed Grisal another piece of chocolate smiling when she ran her slender fingers through his crystal infused fur. She wished that she had a pet of her own. Voli would annoy her parents wanting a pet, but her parents would always say that a pet wouldn't help Voli grow as a person.

"As if forcing me to do repetitive stuff in school was any better." Voli thought. "I'm not a drone Mom and Dad. All I wanted was a Vornskr...... okay I can actually see why they didn't want me to have a pet but still!"

"You've told me about this Master," Voli said getting up. "You can use the Force to enhance all of your senses. You taught me the basics such as running and jumping."

Her purple eyes scanned obstacle course her heart slowly sinking. "I've been practicing," Voli said. "But no offense Master what you've just created here is a death trap."

She turned to Dreidi giving her sheepish grin. "I think a demonstration is in order," Voli said. "That way I know I won't be completely hopeless."

Dreidi waved her hand and shifted the treat from being chocolate and potentially poisonous to Grisial into a safer treat. Dreidi breathed in deeply, looking over the course. "It isn't a death trap, but you cannot be training on easy mode, you need to start pushing yourself. See the potential that I see in you to become a Jedi." Dreidi attempted to maintain her patience with Voli.

She knew that her Padawan had a different speed. Moved at a different speed to others and it was important to Dreidi that she reminded herself of that. It was concerning at times since Dreidi knew there was plenty being hidden from her that Voli had thoughts and ideas about. Things that Dreidi had refused to pry until her Padawan spoke to her on it.

"I think we both know that a demonstration will do nothing to sway your mind on think it is helpless for you." Dreidi pointed out, Dreidi being able to achieve something did not mean Voli would think it was possible. "However, it is important to show a willingness to do a similar trial myself." Breathing in deeply, she whistled out to Grisial, "no more treats." Her amber eyes stern as she looked at her companion, solidifying that this was not a moment to break the rules with her.

Then looking over to Voli. "Keep an eye on my movements and the flow of the Force around me." Dreidi stated, making sure that Voli would pay attention to how she used the Force to enhance her feats and movements.

Dreidi stood at the beginning of the trial, knowing that any Magick or tricks would not be things that helped Voli in facing this trial. The Force flowed heavy around Dreidi as she tapped into it, building the Force energy in her muscles, building the power as she burst forward in a sprint. The Force speeding Dreidi's body till she was a blur to observe, the power in her body heightened beyond the limits that a Zorren could normally achieve.

"Master, It would be nice to see it being performed." Voli replied trying her best to repress her frustration. "If you can see someone overcoming an obstacle, then it can give you confidence."

Sometimes Voli wondered if Dreidi was disappointed with her. While she was making progress, Voli felt she still wasn't at the level compared to students who trained since they were younglings or even people who just joined the Order. They can adapt to situations befitting a Jedi than Voli could, she was just a rich girl with bad dreams and a lot of powers. "I have quite a gift of psyching myself out." The thought distressed Voli. "I just hope Master can be patient with me."

Of course, it didn't help that Voli spent her free time fiddling with the Sith Holocron but Voli did dedicate time to getting better.

"
I see," Voli nodded though she did struggle following Dreidi's speed. The truth is, she couldn't wait until she was advanced enough to perform Force Speed. No more relying on food deliveries when she can just run in, get her meal and run back. "I've done these exercises before!" Voli smiled walking towards the obstacle course. "It should be no problem for me!"

Dreidi placed no expectations on Voli, never compared her to other Padawans, she just demanded that Voli try her best and commit to the responsibilities she took on as a Jedi. And be honest with her. The disappointment came due to the latter, it was being broken by her Padawan and she was not sure how to nudge Voli back on track without seeming like she was sticking her nose into Voli's life.

For now, she focused on the course, leaping high and further than a person should be able to. Using her enhanced reflexes through the Force to dip, duck and dodge attacks that came her way. Eventually, the course circled back around to where Grisial and Voli were. Making a dramatic landing with the Force aiding her. "There, nothing too complicated, just testing how well you can increase your physical traits and get through a course like this. Don't worry, there are plenty of mats and safety pads to fall on if you fail." Dreidi was not looking to cause injury to her Padawan. That was not the way she operated.

"Well, this isn't about learning something new. It is putting into practice what you know and showing yourself as much as me, the progress you have made with your training." Dreidi stated, "so, let's begin." She gestured to Voli where to begin and crossed her arms, ready to evaluate and assess how far Voli had come with all this.

“Yeah……” Voli watched Dreidi finish the course and land with a dramatic flair. “I can do that……”

Still, Voli could do without the fashionable landing. “Show off,” Voli thought with a chuckle. “The way Master landed reminded me of one of those cheerleader mean girls that I hexed once because she bullied Zoey Bradiss Zoey Bradiss . Whats her name? Kalla? Yeah she would land with the show offy grace of a typical cheerleader. The same way Master did.”

Zoey…… Voli missed her so much. She wondered how Zoey was doing now and days. “Hopefully being unaware of the constant turmoil the galaxy is always in.” Voli thought. “I’m surprised that I was sheltered from all that.”

That was the nicest thing Voli could say for her parents. That they placed her in a safe environment. But the ignorance and gaslighting regarding her powers was something she hated.

“This will make a great story,” Voli said breathing in and allowing the Force to flow through her. “I’ll see you on the other side Master!”

Placing her trust into the Force, Voli leapt onto the first platform both feet landing firmly on the ground. “One down,” Voli thought with a smile. “A million to go.”

"Don't compare what I can do to what I expect you to achieve. I have many more years of training over you and I took up other hobbies and activities to ensure I can do the certain things with the Force I want to do." Dreidi stated, she watched her Padawan take position and saw her tap into the Force. It was good to see this progress in Voli, in the past she had been accustomed to fighting the ideas that Voli could even do a fraction of something Dreidi displayed being capable of.

Watching Voli land on the first platform, "keep your body moving. Momentum is keep here, linger too long and you give a chance to be hit." Harder for someone to hit a moving target, especially one moving as fast and as agile as a Jedi could get. "Watch out for the traps ahead. You need to be agile." Was Dreidi hovering/advising a bit too much? Perhaps, but she was wanting Voli to succeed or at least hold a sense of achievement.

It was good that her Padawan was taking this challenge with the most stride she had seen in Voli. Though she feared there could be some influence from the Sith holocron that was contributing to this change and not the attempts from Dreidi to be encouraging and motivating.

Of course Voli didn’t think that she’ll be as good as Dreidi at this point in her training. Why would Master have to stress that I’m comparing myself to her?” She thought. “Im just trying to survive this death trap…. Unless she can really think I can beat whatever high score she has.”

Maybe she was just thinking about it too deeply, but it was amusing to speculate. “Don’t worry Master!” Voli shouted back with a grin. “I won’t be breaking your world record anytime soon!”

At least not yet.

Maintaining her balance, Voli allowed the Force to flow through her limbs. She can feel light as a flower being blown in the wind and as durable as a Rancor. It was amazing how the force can allow a person to take on contradicting abilities that defy the laws of nature. It was the coolest thing she learned from Dreidi. Through the Force anything was possible.

As swift as a Kaadu Voli jumped on multiple platforms with liquid precision. Her mind was blank, she didn’t hear the words of her Master or herself, she just focused on the task at hand and allowed the Force to guide her actions.

“Easy peazy!” Voli said landing on a platform. This was as easy she thought…… until Dreidi mentioned that there were traps. “Traps?!” Voli shouted. “What tra-“

A small tremor was felt underneath Volis feet as the platform crumbled. Voli yelped and the next thing she knew she fell to the ground but stopped when she grabbed the pole her hands gripping onto the metal with all of her strength.

“Oh man!” Voli yelled in a panic as she tried to climb to the top. “Don’t look down! Don’t look down!”

Dreidi watched her Padawan move with more precision and confidence, it was a dangerous mix in someone young but it was also something that she had wanted to instil into Voli so that she could see progress being made. Watching the realisation of there being traps dawning on Voli far too late, Dreidi sighed. She had demonstrated some of the platforms to be dangerous as well as the swinging traps. Dreidi sighed deeply as she watched the scenario unfold.

Breathing out slowly, she moved past the disappointment in Voli having not paid as close of attention as she would have liked. "Adapt, keep the momentum going forward." Dreidi stated, hoping to keep encouraging her Padawan to move forward. "You are doing well."

Looking over to Grisial, she petted her companion's head gently.
