It was false what they say about Mos Eisley. That it was the worst wretched hive of scum and villainy there ever was in the Galaxy; there were other parts in the Galaxy that were equally as or worse than that infamous city misplaced in the sand.

The Stygian Cadera.

The Underworld of Coruscant.

Or the barbaric worlds of the Unknown Regions.
Many locales made Mos Eisley look tamed and orderly, at least there was some law or sense of morality in that depraved pit. At least that pit received its daily sunshine from the twin suns compared to the planet he was on mostly known for its obscure, dark skies. Only illuminating objects pierced the darkness and within it was not for the faint of heart. Rampaging violence with no end to it, one would ask how anyone could inhabit and live with the violence. Who knew why, but surely it was a place to attract certain individuals strong with the Dark Side.

Scum blending with other scum lesser than them. Fitting for those who practiced the darker aspects of the Force. Power they sought, though they always scavenged for it like rats.

The Nautolan was here for Jedi business, many seers feeling a dark power here on Stobar. He could sense the malice from the planet, but he would he have to be precise to uncover any dark siders. Rhis was alone, but had no fear of his surroundings. He’d face worse than foul criminals wanting to spread their misdeeds. Some with a brain would know who he was as he wore robes as traditionalist Jedi would, never agreeing with the loose attire the New Jedi adopted.

Walking to see if he could bait someone into coming out and assault him, thinking as that would be good way to make progress on this mission.

WALK THROUGH THE FIRE

It was surreal.

She hadn't even seen the whole of Deneba yet and here she was, on another planet. Not that Senari shared much information about this particular planet with her.

No.

The damnable Jedi had waltzed into the first cantina he could find and was now passed out drunk at a table. Sera could only sit there for so long before she started to get bored. So she and Dobby wandered out of the cantina to see what in the rest of the city.
"Kinda filthy, isn't it?" she asked the little droid as they wandered.
He whooped in agreement as he dodged a puddle of muck.

"What'sss a little thing like you doin' out thisss late, ey?"
Sera had been so focused on dodging another puddle that she nearly bumped into the large Trandoshan in front of her.
"Oh, uh...sorry." she said, trying to step around him, but another one blocked her way.
Dobby let out a warble that could only be described as a growl.
"Niccce droid. Could fetch a good pricce." he said
She had been starting to feel uneasy, but at these words, she bristled. "He's not going anywhere." she clipped.

The two lizards grinned at one another.
"We weren't assskin' ssssweetheart." the first one said while the other one made a movement toward Dobby.
With that, Sera flung a kick at his shin, causing him to buckle slightly. Dobby didn't wait but rolled away at high speed with the teenager short on his heels.
"Get her!"

Out of the dark jumped four more figures while she and Dobby ran for dear life with no idea where they were going. Not too far ahead of them, she saw someone in robes not unlike Senari's, which caused her to pick up the pace even more, despite her legs protesting.

"Help! Please!"

Anyone could’ve assaulted the Jedi, bring ten men and ambush him. None dared…yet. He was alone and, admittedly, was unfamiliar with the streets he trekked. At any moment he could get lost, but that didn’t deter his confidence. Confidence which he gained from his training and applying it in actual situations. Appearance meant everything to these thugs, and one look ok Rhis repelled many away from him. Were he a young Padawan confused and lost, then he would’ve made easy prey for the criminals.

Speaking of Padawans…

A young woman racing with a droid alongside her. He only turned slightly to see the girl and looked distressed. With six thugs chasing after her, anyone like her would fear for their life. Though she wasn’t any ordinary girl as he could feel something within her. A pulse from the Force. Something that made her different from many in this dump. Diamonds truly were found in the roughest places.

“Behind me,” he declared stoically, turning around to face the rush of criminals. A diverse group, all of them non-humans. Any other Jedi would’ve tried to peacefully dissuade the bandits, using a diplomatic approach to ease the tensions and have them leave without inviting violence. Rhis, however, was not like most Jedi. These thugs decided to chase after a girl to capture her and sell her off like a slave. There was no room for such debauchery. If it could’ve happen to Sera, then it could happen to anyone.

Defend the innocent and protect the weak was part of the Jedi Code. It would be irresponsible for Rhis to allow this scum to draw another wave of air.

They had the advantage in numbers and they surely weren’t going to negotiate. Good, less time to waste; however, a mistake on their part. Once in good range as the thugs came closer and closer, the Nautolan finally reached for his lightsaber and threw it, an emerald color flying in circles. All six came down to a thud, mercilessly dismembered from the hot blade of his lightsaber. Enough to see the crowd and keep them in line, though he was exposed and could give others the idea of attacking him. A thought for another time as he retrieved his saber with the Force, before seeing to the young one.

“Are you hurt?” The only important question before asking more to the child.

WALK THROUGH THE FIRE

“Behind me,”

Oh thank goodness! Sera rushed behind the Nautolan just before a hum whirred from his hand. Turning, hands on her thighs while trying to catch her breath, she was just in time to see a blur of green and the thugs dropping to the floor, dead and smoking. Dobby whistled in shock, not used to seeing something like that.

What could only be a lightsaber returned to the Jedi's hand before he turned to look at her.
“Are you hurt?”
Eyes wide, Sera was still attempting to steady her breath.
"No, I'm fine." she said after getting enough breath to speak. "Thank you, mister." She straightened up, eyes darting to the dismembered bodies of the thugs that were chasing her before looking back at the tall Nautolan. "Uhm..." She cleared her throat while folding her hands behind her back. "Are you really a Jedi?" Well done, Sera. Even Dobby groaned at her.

It did catch her off-guard, however, that a Jedi would resort to killing off the bat. It was not how the stories went. But who was she to argue when her life was in jeopardy?

Dark eyes darted from the bodies on the ground to the gathering, murmuring crowd.
"Uh...they don't look very friendly." she said, motioning with her chin to the crowd. She wasn't used to highly populated areas, but the expressions on the crowd's faces gave her a chill down her back that she couldn't explain.

Out of the frying pan and into the fire.

Good.

If she was not hurt, then she was able to walk and brush it off. It was unnecessary to treat her like a child when she was at a mature age based on her appearance. Rhis was taught the same way by his own Master during his own teenage years, harsh discipline which would create a steady and skilled Jedi.

However, that wouldn’t mean he would leave her to fend for herself. She wouldn’t last another minute out here alone. Pretty obvious to tell that she was not a native from the planet nor was raised in conditions like these. How did a child like her ended up here?

"Uh...they don't look very friendly."

The crowd that witnessed Rhis’ onslaught of the thugs were now staring at the trio; him, the girl, and the droid. They knew who he was and would be a target of interest. “Come with me,” putting a hand on her should, while walking and guiding them until they could find something relatively safe where the girl could catch her breath without any disturbances. His pace was fast until walking into an alley which was vacant. Shards of glass, broken boxes, the stench of liquor and vomit. The typical low life alley.

“Oh uh, yes. I am a Jedi,” remembering her question from earlier. Now he has questions for her to answer.

“What is a young lady like you doing out here? You stick out like a black sheep,” arms crossed and looking down at the girl, almost as if disappointed in what she had done. “Do you have any idea what could’ve happened had I not been there?” Continuing on his rant on her. During this he could feel a strong presence from the Force, radiating from her. Confirming his suspicions about her.

“Where are your parents? I hope you’re not out here alone?”

“Come with me,”

Sera was all but frogmarched toward an alley which had her on high alert. She may not be used to much, but she was wary of following a stranger into an alley.

Until...
“Oh uh, yes. I am a Jedi,”
That helps, doesn't it? She was just about to open her mouth with follow up questions when they reached the alley and he whirled on her. It was an odd feeling that ran down her back - as if there was much more energy bearing down on her than a saviour wanting answers.

The questions pelted her as she stared at the Nautolan, wide-eyed, mouth shut tight after the first time she tried to answer and he just asked more questions.
“Where are your parents? I hope you’re not out here alone?”
She let a heartbeat pass for any more questions. When none came, she folded her hands behind her back while her eyes fell to her feet.
"It's a long story." she mumbled. "My dad...it's just me and mom now. She's still on Deneba, but she's not doing too well. The Jedi that brought me here, was taking me somewhere to help her. We just stopped for fuel and he uh.....fell asleep at the inn." she finally went on, looking at him. "I've never been off Deneba before, so I just wanted to see what another place looked like. Didn't know it'll go that badly." She missed her mother, but knew it wouldn't make much difference if she was there or not.

Dobby nudged against her leg and she suddenly remembered her manners.
"I'm Sera, by the way...Sera Rosh and this is Dobby. Thanks for helping us, Sir." she said, still bashful, but then her curiosity got the better of her. "What's a Jedi doing in a place like this, though?" she blurted. "My dad always told me stories about the Jedi being the people's heroes." she then explained, a blush creeping into her collar and she fiddled with her necklace.

You really need to work on your filtering, Sera...

“Oh,” he said at first, feeling sorry and a bit ashamed for scolding the girl after she told him her situation. Just her and her mother? A sign that her father is deceased or was missing. As stoic and stern he was, he was not void of emotions to sympathize with others. The girl was, without insult, ignorant of the Galaxy since she grew up in a normal, innocent life on some backwater world. It was probably better than most others.

“Well, just make sure you don’t go around unaccompanied. Even in the better parts of the Galaxy it does not give a guarantee for safety; remember that. I’m sorry for your situation.”

“My name is Rhis, Rhis Fisto. I’m here because I believe there is a Sith or someone as dangerous,”
explaining to the young woman, and a hand outstretched to shake her own. Even now he couldn’t divert attention from his mission…but the girl.

“What do you know of the Force? Was there a reason why this Jedi took you?”

She felt small under the Nautolan's dark yet stern gaze.

How was this her fault? The most trouble she had ever had was from fellow scrappers wanting to run off with her discoveries. But Dobby's gentle nudge against her leg gave her some courage to meet the Jedi's eyes again. Not that he was letting up the rebuke.

“Well, just make sure you don’t go around unaccompanied. Even in the better parts of the Galaxy it does not give a guarantee for safety; remember that. I’m sorry for your situation.”

Weird - he was almost sincere there.
"Thank you, Sir." she said, almost surprised.
“My name is Rhis, Rhis Fisto. I’m here because I believe there is a Sith or someone as dangerous,”
"Oh." she said. "They always sound super scary in the stories. You're doing it alone?!" Filter, Sera! She did a mental facepalm.

But he made no movement to leave.

“What do you know of the Force? Was there a reason why this Jedi took you?”
"The...Force?" she asked. "I don't know - he just said he's taking me somewhere I can't remember the name of to help me so I can eventually help my mom?" she then tried to explain. "I don't know. He was talking in riddles of things I couldn't understand." Even Dobby whined in confusion next to her.

She felt like she was stuck rolling in a barrel.

The girl was completely lost and confused. Embarking on a journey she didn’t understand, not even the slight grasp of it. He deemed it irresponsible of the other Jedi to just take her without giving needed answers to her desperate questions. Some Jedi he met were like the one Sahar explained. Mysterious; full of riddles; not direct to the point. Did so on purpose, so one could figure out themselves and their problems. It was completely unmethodical at its times.

"The...Force?" she asked. "I don't know - he just said he's taking me somewhere I can't remember the name of to help me so I can eventually help my mom?" she then tried to explain. "I don't know. He was talking in riddles of things I couldn't understand."

“I suppose this Jedi was miserably trying to be philosophical to impress you. Unnecessary and annoying, in my opinion,” the Nautolan explaining to the young woman. “I think it would’ve been better if he was straight to the point with you and not waste your time with foolishness.”

“I can sense something very powerful in you. Something that many do not possess. I believe that is why this Jedi took you from your home, in hopes to teach you to wield that power.”

“Have you ever done things strange? Ever felt different from the others, Sera?”

He seemed frustrated with Senari.

"In his defence, Mister Fisto, he did actually explain. I just didn't understand any of it." she said, an embarrassed blush creeping into her collar.
“Have you ever done things strange? Ever felt different from the others, Sera?”

She thought about it for a minute until Dobby let out a whistle next to her.
"That's true, isn't it?" she asked him before turning back to the Jedi. "Something did happen a few years back. When I found Dobby, actually. Scrap rats were attacking him from all sides. It was weird - all of a sudden they stopped moving for a bit while Dobby was able to get away. I never could understand it, but somehow it had helped." she explained. "Is that what you call the Force?" she then asked.

It was strange - she had never thought about what had happened as her fault. She had always thought it a freak accident that somehow helped her little friend.

But the Nautolan had her curious now. He had spoken of something powerful. She needed more answers.

"Could you...perhaps teach me? Please Mister Fisto?"

“Yes, that is what we call the Force,” confirming her question and curiosity, including his own suspicions. Naturally emotions triggered such minor episodes to those inept with the Force.

Then came her next question.

Sera asking for his tuition. He had already trained Xashe Tistya Xashe Tistya to Knighthood, his first apprentice whom he was proud of. The girl was weak and timid when he first found her, only to train her to a brave and strong Jedi. It was a while since he had adopted a Padawan, and this girl…

“I can bring you to the New Jedi Order, Sera, and appoint you as my Padawan…” but his mission…he couldn’t abandon it now. If it was one thing about Rhis, he was dedicated to his mission in burning away the Dark.

“Do you know how to fight, Sera? It’s very dangerous here to not know how to fight.”

WALK THROUGH THE FIRE

“Yes, that is what we call the Force.”

Sera gave a sigh of relief. It was nice to finally have some sort of explanation for what had happened that day. She still didn't know everything it entailed, but it was a step in the right direction, at least.

“I can bring you to the New Jedi Order, Sera, and appoint you as my Padawan…”

At least she knew what a Padawan was supposed to be.
"Thank you!" she exclaimed with relief. Anything giving her answers and helping her mom was worth it. She was way out of her depth where she was now. Anything or anyone granting her a lifeline, she clung to for dear life.

“Do you know how to fight, Sera? It’s very dangerous here to not know how to fight.”
Huh.
"Uh - depends on the fight." she said bashfully. "The worst I've done previously was whack a fellow scavenger over the head with a plank because he tried to nab my collection. He uh - was just knocked out, though." she added, the blush creeping into her collar again. She wasn't exactly a violent person. She just sort of knew how to survive, albeit barely. She did leave a piece of tradeable scrap with the knocked out scavenger though. They all needed to stay alive somehow.

"I may not be worth all that much, but I can still try to help against that...Sith."

It was the least she could do - and to not be stuck in a tavern again.
