WHITE SCAR POST
881 ABY

"Watch the tarp," Siv barked at a bumbling Cernr droid as it fumbled with thick wirecord. It was the last of today's shipments of construction material from Tor Valum, but they wouldn't be able to use it for a couple of days now at the pace that they were going. A storm that had begun blowing three days prior had slowed down their pace of construction. White Scar's structural frame was all but finished, and the portions that were either underground or carved into the rock were finished. But until this squall passed, they would be hard-pressed to continue. To make matters worse, another wave of criminal activity across multiple systems had Volo all tied up at Karjr Headquarters. Siv himself had dipped off to Lyran IV to help some Karjr with a rather entrenched spice gang, but construction of the post kept him tied down. Someone had to supervise, and with Volo's responsibilities being more official, that responsibility fell too often to Siv.

He marched himself through the falling snow to the small little prefab shack that was serving as his on-site living quarters. Next to it parked was his CVT-48 Outlander Starfighter, also tied down lest the storm blow it off the mountain. The shack gave him warmth -- sparingly -- and shelter from the storm, but it was a far cry even from his sparse apartment in Tor Valum. But White Scar Post, once it was completed, would be the real deal. A real home for him, and Clan Dragr, with plenty of wilderness and rugged terrain that it felt apart from all of the craziness of Tor Valum. There was definitely a lot of that these days. And eventually, Siv would need a place to retire; why not a nice, warm bar on a mountain in the middle of nowhere?

If only the building part didn't take so long.
