Character
Name: Jester Artizan
Alias: The Twins
Age: 30
Species: Changeling
Faction: The Family
Rank: Associate
Sex: Unspecified
Height: 5’9”
Weight: 150 lbs.
Eyes: Blue
Hair: Varies
Skin: Varies
Force Sensitive: No
Strengths and Weaknesses:
Thanks to their genetic makeup, the Twins have the natural ability to change their appearance at will, making them very valuable on a number of assignments. The Jester side is a very passionate, feisty personality that thrives in social situations and occasionally plays the part of a pretty airhead to manipulate the weak minded. Meanwhile the Artizan side is a very detail oriented individual, big on numbers and the bottom line. Both sides are accomplished con artists and big believers in fake it til you make it and have few lines they won’t cross. However, the Jester side is also overly passionate in some instances, with a surprisingly short temper and capable of copious amounts of pettiness. Her grudges typically hold a long shelf life to boot. On the other hand, Artizan is particularly cowardly, akin to a womp rat that will scurry away if things get heated, he also holds little loyalty and will double cross just about anyone if it means a quick buck. Both have no fighting prowess and rely solely on wit and charm to get by. And although it is primarily Artizan’s vice, by nature of a single body both personalities must accommodate an addiction to deathsticks.
Appearance:
As a changeling, they can adopt many visages, however both personalities have a preferred form. Jester usually dons the pink skin and blue eyes of a zeltron, with long purple hair that reaches the small of her back. Her choice of clothing are usually long elegant dresses and gloves and if possible an abundance of jewelry from head to toe. Artizan on the other hand normally shows himself as an Arkanian with blue eyes, short white hair and alabaster skin. He prefers to keep a classy but professional look, often in two-piece suits with a fedora to complete the outfit. Although not immediately noticeable, as twins they possess near identical facial features, something more easily perceived if a direct switch between forms takes place.
Biography:
Born on the bustling planet of Nar Shadaa were twins that were left to an orphanage. Jester and Artizan. As changelings, they had many an opportunity to cause chaos in said orphanage and make it a living hell for their caretakers. It was no surprise then that they were given to the first person to ever show interest in them. That was one Olgon Marrick, an up and comer in the entertainment industry who saw potential in both their singing voices. An arrangement of business and never family, the Twins received no affection from their adoptive father and faced extreme pressure to perform. As they grew older, Jester was the clear starlet, with an abundance of stage presence. Artizan in the other hand was awkward and reserved and although had a decent voice like his sister, he possessed no force of personality or charisma to make him a captivating figure.
As time went on Artizan faded into the background, learning to serve as an accountant and bookie for the trio. Concurrently Jeater became an increasingly popular local act, though still confined to seedy cantinas and nightclubs. Both twins learned how to dip their toes into the criminal underworld as they often needed illegitimate means to sustain them while seeking stardom. The lack of success wore on Olgon, whose punishments became increasingly physical, furthering the divide between he and his adoptive children. Artizan, now a young and cocky fast talker convinced his sister of the fact that they no longer needed Marrick and would have greater success without him. And so, they snuck off one day on a one way trip to Coruscant.
It was there on the planet of lights that the duo struck gold. With Artizan as her agent, Jester gained some fame as a showgirl and vocalist. For a brief time they were living it up, getting a taste of wealth and popularity. Far away from their lap of luxury, Marrick followed Jester’s career and was enraged to have been left out after their newfound success. Tragedy would soon strike by Marrick’s hand. Late one night the twins were partying after a show on Nar Shadaa when Marrick arrived with a vengeance. Mercilessly, he bludgeoned both of them, presumably to death. But, one survived. With severe brain damage and gaps in their memory, but alive. Somewhere in the brain trauma and psychological damage, something snapped. The damaged mind couldn’t rationalize such an event. Years went by in recovery, and at the end of it they were penniless, scarred and broken. They had developed schizophrenia, with both of the twins’ personalities competing for control. With no memory of which twin survived, neither personality knows which was the original.
Now, their mood is in constant flux, sometimes one twin take control or the other, and sometimes neither will be in control. Lingering affects of their injuries rendering them useless with migraines and seizures. Five years have passed since the assault and they’ve yet to recover, living on the streets with nothing but the clothes on their back. They operate as con artists for the time being, scraping by on what they can to sustain themselves. Waiting, for their next big break.
