Description: Prior to the expedition on Jabiim, she decided to modify her own SI-74 anti-tank rifle so that she would be able to fire the particle beam rifle more than once before reloading. In the process, she makes use of the Trandoshan particle power packs instead of the original power packs, allowing her to fire 15 rounds before the power pack runs dry, and the advanced cooling system was found to allow her to fire the weapon as fast as 8 times a minute, that is, have a cooldown of roughly 8 seconds. Any infantry soldier will tell you, a weapon capable of being fired only 8 times a minute is a liability if used in anti-infantry roles. She originally purchased the weapon as it seemed to be a good fit for her personality: she was pretty direct, she knew that she lacked subtlety and agility due to her size and bulk. As with its original weapon, Jessica's modified anti-tank rifle shares a load of weaknesses: difficulty of aiming, low rate of fire, high thermal signature, large amount of recoil. And, because she is using the bulkier particle power packs in use by Trandoshans, it takes even longer than with the stock version to reload: 20 seconds as opposed to 15 seconds, in part due to the larger mass of the power pack. The power packs can be recharged but the process of recharging the power packs takes about 2-3 hours.

There is no 360, no scoping with the SI-74 and firing it takes time and preparation, this often means that the SI-74 has to be used in ambush or not at all. The weapon also has a massive kick when fired, meaning its entirely impossible to aim the weapon when standing or crouching, one must lay down to properly utilize it.

Hi [member="Jessica Med-Beq"], I will be reviewing this submission.

  • If this weapon is being modified to fire multiple rounds then this needs to be updated to reflect that.

  • While I am okay with allowing the power pack to support up to 15 rounds before it empties, the original submission is worded a bit differently regarding these two statements. In the original submission, after firing a single shot the heat cylinders take 15 seconds to cool the weapon down enough to fire again, as well as ejecting the power cell. Because of the construction of the original weapon, I can't give you the pass of 15 shots & a 20 second reload when the original was 1 shot for 15 second cooldown and reload. It just wouldn't make sense based on the foundation of the original weapon.
Reduce the ammo capacity to about 4 shots, with a 75 second cooldown/reload and I can pass it, or, alternatively, write up a 15 post quality dev thread explaining substantial research into the modifications of the gun to keep the weapon as you've written it.

The second detraction of the SI-74 is its massive size and weight. There is no arguing with this fact, or trying to change it, the SI-74 is a massive weapon. It has a huge length and is hugely heavy. This weapon is a pain in the ass to carry around and an even bigger pain in the ass to aim. There is no 360 no scoping with the SI-74 and firing it takes time and preparation, this often means that the SI-74 has to be used in ambush or not at all. The weapon also has a massive kick when fired, meaning its entirely impossible to aim the weapon when standing or crouching, one must lay down to properly utilize it.

The original weapon made it that it has to be used in an ambush or not at all. It also needs to be used while laying down. Please edit these weaknesses in as well as in your description.
