+ Force Sense: The Miraluka as a people can "see" using the Force, but Jeren's training and natural talents have made him highly adept at using sense-based powers, including Farsight and Field Detection.
+ Duelist: Years of training among his own people, the Jedi, and the Crusade have honed Jeren's abilities with a lightsaber. He has some training with all the lightsaber forms, but specializes in Makashi with lesser focuses on Soresu and Ataru.
+ Speed: Jeren is capable of moving very quickly, particularly when enhancing that speed with the Force.
+/- Zeal: Jeren is eager to prove himself, to find and defeat the Bogan wherever it may lurk. While it gives him a strong motivation and sense of righteousness, it could also lead him to doing morally questionable things in the name of the greater good.
- Strength: Jeren's strength is slightly above-average, but he does not focus on it the way some do, instead utilizing speed, precision, and technique when he fights. He is liable to being overwhelmed by a truly physically superior opponent.
- Miraluka Sight: While it usually presents no issues to him, if Jeren were to be cut off from the Force in some manner, it would seriously impede his senses, if not leave him completely blind.
APPEARANCE:
Jeren is a tall, athletic Miraluka man in his mid-20's with light skin and brown hair. Like all of his kind he has empty sockets where his eyes would normally be, which he typically covers with either a red mask or a simple blindfold. A scar can be seen peeking out from under the mask on his left cheek. At times he will don a pair of fake cybernetic eyes if he wants to be perceived not as a Miraluka but simply as a human who lost his eyes.
BIOGRAPHY:
Jeren was born on the Miraluka adopted homeworld of Alpheridies. At an early age he was discovered to be Force sensitive and began training with the Luka Sene, the Miraluka's own native Force-based order. He excelled, showing a strong connection to the Force and a nearly-prodigious ability with using and expanding upon the Force Sense powers inherent to his people.
As he grew, the galaxy roiled with war and chaos, and buckled more than once under the depredations of followers of the Dark Side. Jeren felt a pull at the very core of his being, a sense that he was being called to use his power to help others, to fight those who would subjugate what they could and burn the rest. He regularly studied and practiced with Jedi who came to Alpheridies, dedicating himself to studying how to fight, how to fly, how to be effective in the wars to come. Even more than the Jedi, though, he found himself drawn to the faith of Ashla as he heard it from the believers he came across as a young man. The more he learned of it, the more he incorporated it into his own life, meshing it with the philosophies of the Luka Sene.
At 19 the young Miraluka was declared to have completed his training. He was selected to act as one of the order's Sene Seekers, one of those tasked by the order with tracking down and bringing back those who had fallen to the Dark Side. The Luka Sene put a strong emphasis on redemption and correction of the fallen, with elimination as a last resort. Jeren spent the next several years acting as a Seeker for the Luka Sene, but he found himself more and more frustrated with the comparatively isolationist attitude of the Luka Sene and the Miraluka generally. As he interacted more and more with agents and representatives of the Ashlan Crusade, the more he ended up butting heads with the Masters and Mentors of his own order. More and more he felt Ashla calling him to greater service in the war with the Bogan.
Eventually he decided that enough was enough. He chose to strike out on his own, leaving Alpheridies to join forces with the Crusade in its struggle against the Bogan. The young Miraluka spent some time training and studying with the knightly orders of the Ashlan Crusade, further refining his combat abilities, gaining new skills, and growing in knowledge of Ashla. His zeal and fervor for taking the fight to Ashla's enemies, his considerable skill as a duelist, and particularly his high level of mastery of Force Sense powers soon caught the attention of the Holy Jury.
