TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

  • Classification: Lightwhip
  • Size: Average
  • Weight: Average
SPECIAL FEATURES

  • Bifurcating cylical-ignition pulse: No self-respecting Merfolk would ever think of wielding a weapon that cannot be used underwater. The upgrade was not quite a luxury as much as borne of absolute necessity.
  • Crude Phobium emitter: Jenn is relentless in combat, leaving her opponents with very few opportunities to obtain some measure of safety. This upgrade allows her to press the advantage even further by enhancing the potential behind each strike, but further sacrificing defense.
  • No Dimetris circuit: Prevents Cortosis from shorting out the lightwhip. A rare danger, to be sure, but one Jenn never intends to be surprised by.
STRENGTHS

  • Parry this!: A lightwhip is a most unorthodox choice of weapon - most tend to prefer the venerable lightsaber, and so find themselves confounded when faced with a weapon forcing them to rethink their entire strategy when it comes to dueling! Combined with Jenn's unrelenting aggression and fluid motions, the shock of facing such an exotic weapon alone is an undeniable advantage when facing more traditionally-minded duellists.
  • Bonded: Having established a bond between herself and the kyber crystal within, Jenn's lightwhip is much like its owner! Stubbornly resisting the grasp of another user is but a common occurence - or outright disengaging when those touched by the Dark Side seek to use the Ersansyr's own weapon against her.
  • Imbued: Weapons are part of a Mandalorian's religion - and no weapon is more dear to its wielder than a lightsaber. All too aware of how easily she loses herself to her love for ocean worlds at times, Jenn has taken the decision to imbue the kyber crystal with her own essence, thus allowing for it to help her focus when needed. The crystal within offers minor amplification in the focus and potency of Force abilities.
  • Bifurcating cyclical ignition pulse: A Merfolk's weapon is useless if it cannot operate underwater, and so Jenn has seen fit to installing this upgrade.
  • Beskar Hilt: The use of the hallowed metal in the fabrication of the lightwhip's handle has ensured that the handle will adequately protect the emitter within - even when faced with a strike from a lightsaber.
  • No Dimetris circuit: Prevents Cortosis from shorting out the lightwhip.
WEAKNESSES

  • Attack, attack, attack!: Formidable as it may be on the offensive, a lightwhip offers some rather poor performance when it comes to defending one's self! Simply put, the weapon's flowing nature makes it impossible to keep a guard up against an opponent armed with a more traditional choice of weapon in the form of a lightsaber, and deflecting blaster fire becomes exceedingly difficult as well.
  • Bonded: Jenn's Lightwhip is a weapon made for a proud warrior - and, when wielded by the hands of one judged unworthy, it will simply refuse to function, even if said person would brandish it in hopes of aiding its owner!
  • Force Nullification: When brought in the presence of a Void stone, an Ysalamiri containment field or any other piece of equipment capable of disrupting connection to the Force, Jenn's choice to imbue her kyber crystal becomes irrelevant - and the faint call of the ocean stops, leaving her with only quiet.
  • Haar'chak, EMP!: Although the lightwhip has protection against interference, a directed EMP or Ion attack has the ability to knock key components offline - the most dramatic one being the Bifurcating cyclical-ignition pulse.
  • Watch where you swing that!: Because of the nature of a lightwhip compared to a lightsaber, the flowy, yet snappy motions tend to hit more than merely the target, should one fight in a cramped space - or in a crowd. Disaster is just waiting to happen, if someone chooses to wield this weapon with allies at their side...

    DESCRIPTION
When Jenn became aware of her Force Sensitivity, she found herself thinking of how to acquire her very own lightsaber. Claiming one from a fallen Jedi would be quite the trophy, and a meaningful acquisition - or perhaps she could barter for one, given her position as a smith of her people. In the end, she chose neither, undertaking a pilgrimage to Ilum to acquire her very own Kyber Crystal instead, in a well-meaning, if perhaps misplaced attempt to walk in the footsteps of the oldest enemies of her people: the Jedi. Borne of respect for the ways of those who walk in the Light, Jenn returned home with a crystal - and hope in her heart, vowing to wield her newfound weapon for good.

For someone so clearly used to working with beskar in the creation of swords and spears, assembling a lightsaber, let alone a lightwhip, was a difficult process. Nevertheless, the hilt was lovingly crafted, and the weapon further enhanced by upgrades she judged to be indispensable for someone such as herself. Naturally, this began with the inclusion of a bifurcating cyclical-ignition pulse, given her nature as Ersansyr - a type of Merfolk created through Sith Alchemy. Mindful of the possibility of facing foes more experienced with lightsaber combat than herself, she made sure to lean into her weapon's strength, upgrading its ability to cut through anything standing in her way.

Fashioned after an Urumi, Jenn's lightwhip is meant to be used aggressively, leaving little time for the foe to recuperate: a brutal onslaught awaits any who thinks to stand in her path, as both a reminder of her past as a furious Crusader, and her acceptance of the need for violence in the name of life and peace.

My mistake, the wording was wrong on my part - as was my understanding of the material. I was suggesting that it made shorter work of resistant materials rather than allowing her to cut through lightsaber-resistant materials.

Nevertheless! I've edited it to make more sense, and be more in line with the source.
