Mission Jedi Mission: Hell's Belle's

Emberlene's Daughter, The Jedi Generalist
THe information and request had come through older channels. Matsu had her silver jedi expanding.. they were reaching places in the universe and beyond Matsu had been more surprised as last information had the world embroiled in its own wars among each other. THey had even pulled out of the Republic senate at the time. It was... different compared to others and initial reports were something very different So she had sent out a request for some jedi to be able to come and dispatched the new model Blockade Runner. It would be able to pick them up quickly enough and bring them. The jedi master there on the bridge as the mission table was glowing softly.... the displays showing hardlight setups to show them the world. Matsu was going over it as the purple haired biot remained by her offering a small look but was relaying the information that the drones they had sent were bringing in.

"Are you certain?" The petite master said it while she stood there in the silver robes, black hair gleaming as it was pulled back. Her hand coming out as she moved the hardlight around and checked over it. "Yes master Ike, we have checked the information twice. There are two forces stationed in the location and it seems to alternate between them fighting or they are sullen and avoiding each other." SHe gave a nod of her head and it matched with what they had been told... the two forces wanted their help. "Have we been able to get any information about the ones we are supposed to meet?" The biot stood there as she seemed to be accessing information. "A little, it seems most of the planetary forces are divided as explained but the military is in a fractured state. The walkers, ships and vehicles are with on whom controls this region."

Her hand came out indicating it. "It seems to be one of the larger sources for fuel and is protected... While another has fighters whom are considered some of the strongest able to hold their own and led by the planets older general. The last seems to have numbers that swell their ranks and a larger amount of force users. The generals of the previous ruler before he was dethroned have flocked to the youngest of the children... all in the information they sent but we are not seeing an initial place to start. Resources on the world are strained as they fight each other. THis alliance from what we can tell will mostly be less a victor then maybe keep them from killing everyone." She said it as Matsu was checking on it so that they could try and have the most recent intel for the jedi who would be here.

I don’t have time for this.

Connel was ridiculously busy, not to mention a bit unstable right now. He was absolutely no danger to those around him, but Vanagor was experiencing a life issue he wanted nothing of. This was not the place for that and thus he had to practice self control. So this was not the best place to be.

However

It was Master Ike. He had known the woman all of his life, and owed much of who he was (literally) to her. She was one of a handful of sentients not related to him who just had to call and he would come, without question. What was the mission? Didn’t know, didn’t care, he was here, and was going nowhere until it was finished.

He couldn’t be on Kashyykk.

He would[/B be here.

NPCs free to use. Taresa Kae in full Echani mode as usual

A sleek silver shuttle had dropped Taiden and Taresa Kae Taresa Kae , each with two honor guards. The Keth and Kae houses were still working toward the common good of restoring their people since the Mandalorians glassed Eshan. His work had kept him overly busy, but that was nothing new! It was a welcome break to be assigned a different sort of mission.

The half-dozen white and silver-clad Echani Jedi were pristine and spotless as ever, with sabers, swords, and other weapons fit for the Echani fighting styles and disciplines. Taiden's visor was clipped to his belt, with a thin line of barely noticeable armor beneath their flowing robes. All had a small shield generator device attached. Nothing looked out of place; each of them perfectly represented a traditional Echani, down to the smallest detail in the Force. Noble, you might call it—perhaps part of what was required to speak to nobility.

Proceeding down the ship's hallways, the six pairs of footsteps kept precise time in sync. Taiden and those with him greeted people with half-measured bows to anyone they met, Connel Vanagor Connel Vanagor and others, his posture alert, his body language observant. He asked where Master Ike was located and headed straight there. It wouldn't be long before she saw his familiar face arrive nearby, almost smiling, walking to the table with purpose. His body language, though, was very happy—a huge amount of respect, reverence, for the Master and her work—often displayed on their travels together.

"Master Ike." He gave a deep bow, eyes closed, holding for longer than normal. "It is an honor to see you again."

She might recognize Taresa Kae as well, as they had worked together very briefly, her silver eyes and long white hair the same as before. The Kethborn had received a datapad en route and was reading it over. Nobles, generals, "strained resources always make peace fragile, but it is perhaps a possible angle to pursue," a double-edged sword in any negotiation, but then, many things often were.

Garric had just been dropped off on the ship by a shuttle. He was in his standard kimono, but wore his jedi robe over it. Tucked to his belt and slightly hidden by his robe was his scabbard and lightsaber hilt. When he arrived, he noted the man in all black and offered him a bow with a small smile on his face. He noted that he seemed to be the one called Connel Vanagor Connel Vanagor , from the image he was given so he would know who to look out for.

He proceeded through the ship, being directed towards where the others of the group he was told about would be located. Eventually he came across a group of individuals who certainly stood out to him. He recognised two of them, those being Taiden Keth Taiden Keth and Matsu Ike Matsu Ike .

He approached the two and offered a bow to the both of them but remained quiet. He only offered a bow to show his arrival, but didn't wish to interrupt their conversation.

He sat cross-legged in deep meditation near the shuttle, hoping that the force could guide him into deciding on the dilemma plaguing his mind. Jasper wondered what would have happened if he had gotten involved, taking into all the possible outcomes from him partaking in this situation. He didn't know if his training in the force would be enough for him to survive if he were to engage in combat but he knew he wasn't going to be able to find out just by staying at the temple. The breathing techniques that he learned helped him channel the force through him and his eyes twitched showing those around him signs of life. His hands gripped his knees while in different time intervals and it stayed that way until his eyes opened up instantly.

Getting up from his position, an idea formed in his mind that would help him make a decision. Walking into the shuttle he looked for Matsu Ike Matsu Ike to talk to her. The force assisted him in locating her quickly and took notice of the conversation she was in. He felt a sense of unease as he looked over to the other people inside the area that he was in. He decided to wait until he found the opportunity to speak with her presented itself.

The group that had come was welcomed... she took a moment to see if anyone else was going to come and bowed in greeting. "Welcome." She said it while standing there for the moment. The ship able to hold their shuttles. "About fourteen hours ago the jedi received a message on an old Republic channel. It was marked priority intervention and so initial contact scout drones were sent to the planet. Using the information we were givenall we know is there is one of the older republioc worlds that has been embroiled in civil war for the better part of thirty years." She said it and let them be around and look at some of the scarce information they had.

"We can't be entirely certain how much of the world itself has changed... initial scout reports confirm much of the information and we are being asked to help make a treaty between two of the three major groups there... likely to be united against the third which is the dangerous part. We'd be helping with the outcome and deaths... but not intervening means the fighting will continue and all of them could perish instead of a third." She was looking at some of them and it. "Not the ideal jedi negotiations and not ideal for other parts. All of the armies could be a powder keg and primed to fight at any time... but we need to recon and learn what we can about this third faction they are uniting against."

Geez, more and more fighting.

He offered more of a “head bob” than actual “bows” to anyone as Connel was busy keeping limber in a corner. He was not trying to be anti-social or anything, but he had his gear on, and that usually meant that it was time to “work”. When the talk of the planetary issues and the civil war was afoot, Connel was really not in the mood to commit, but there was something about this story that just kept him from doing so.

There was a need for “recon” and from the looks of everyone here, Connel was probably best suited for that, no disrespect to the others, but it was his capabilities that would be put to the best use here.

I’ll handle, or at least be involved with that.

Garric Wrenna and Jasper Candos were greeted with the same measured respect—polite bows and observant gazes reading body language. Jasper carried a surface unease, while Garric held a quiet reserve. Kei would have engaged them all in conversation, Glade might have told a story, and Sera would have offered almost ethereal, prophetic wisdom. But Taiden preferred… questions.

Thirty or forty years. "We could search more on the individuals or groups involved. Motivations beyond the obvious—things, people that might be reasoned with or negotiated?" Did a hidden tragedy spark the war or just the obvious? Such wounds might leave room to heal, thirty-year-old grudges could have softened with time or hardened further, and be a point to raise.

Stepping lightly toward the mission table, the Echani accessed one of the hardlight consoles with a graceful sweep of his hand. "Are there other voices of reason among them we might appeal to—popular figures, or those who carry weight?" Beyond those bent on fighting, with their resources running low.

A quiet offer of recon cut through the discussion. Taiden half-bowed his head in acknowledgment to Connel Vanagor Connel Vanagor "It would be good to know if there are still those that see what they are doing to themselves." Where they were or their condition, information from planetside might offer better insight.

It was often the powerful who were quick to war, but those who did the fighting rarely had the same taste for dying in it. Only zealots and the broken sought such ends.

She listened to a few things and Taiden asked a question. "We do not know, that is what the recon will be for.. the more information we can get without bias or coloring from any side the better it will be to make a decision." She said it as the ship was coming down towards a massive sight.... a large citadel on a mountain surrounded by barren sands. Tents forming a city as differing flags were on either side. The remnants of a building housing the landing pad as the ship came in and The external camera showed various people standing around. Two clear sides though when Matsu was moving with a small clap of her hands. "Now, present the best appearance and observe everything."

She said it as the doors revealing with a slender, girlish figure, similar in every detail to a human women... Her face was oval and beautiful in the extreme, her every feature was finely chiseled and exquisite, her eyes large and lustrous and her head surmounted by a mass of coal black, waving hair, caught loosely into a strange yet becoming coiffure. Her skin was of a light golden copper color, against which the crimson glow of the sun illuminated her cheeks and the ruby of her beautifully molded lips shone with a strangely enhancing effect. She was as destitute of clothes as the others who accompanied her; indeed, save for her highly wrought ornaments she was entirely naked, with the ornaments covering her up.

Matsu raised an eyebrow but remained quiet as the other who stood opposite had her men step aside. She turned toward the jedi, her chest heaving, her eyes flashing. She was slender, yet formed like a warrior: at once lithe and voluptuous. Her only garment was a broad silken girdle with sheath for a blade. Her white ivory limbs her rich black hair, black as night, fell in rippling burnished clusters down her supple back. The jedi master was looking at them and spoke with a bow as one other came forward. "I think we aare overdressed." She said it and the short man spoke walking there and his face was a patchwork... varying colors, his outfit much the same.

"No... well maybe who knows. It is customary for warriors when meeting in peacefcul talks to appear without armor or weapons... all is bared as it were." He moved more like a jester around them and seemed to draw sneers. "I am haxon, alas messenger to the late emperor, father of the trinity." There was movement and a robed figure caame forward grabbing him. "You insult our lady." Matsu was listening and taking in a few things quickly... well this was certainly something but she moved forward. "I am sure his insult was not meant, we are here to help and one who is neutral in this would help us get information."

Hearing everything about what was going on over the land of this planet that they were approaching, Connel shed the majority of his gear. Only keeping his sabers and the combat shield to cover them. The web gear, the throwing knives, the lightblaster, the gauntlets, they were all left in a storage container. He still had an intimidating appearance, but that was more for “security” than anything.

He didn’t appear so, but he could still be compassionate. Time to try and prove that.

The woman who met with them was admittedly highly distracting, but he could not say or do anything because it was probably a culture for them, besides, he was here to work. (Which is why the mask was hanging like a hood over the back of his neck, he could not put it on right now because it wasn’t that kind of “work”).

The hardest thing to do was, and always is “nothing” when the fool was accosted, but he was not here to act until it was necessary. He focused on the mission, reminding himself that professionalism was paramount. Connel maintained his composure, ready to act swiftly if the situation demanded it. His restraint now would ensure the success of their objective later.

Composure over Compulsion.

Readying himself for anything, he centered himself in the force. It was not physical beauty that drew his eye, but movement—poise, balance, the language of presence.

Around them Taiden observed the unfolding tension, taking in both the customs and the significance of their moment. "Indeed. I shall take your lead and respect your traditions," he offered, ever the traditionalist himself. Without hesitation, he moved with precision, bowing abruptly with a click of his heels—a deliberate interruption meant to shift the focus from each other to the Jedi.

In full view of all, he lowered his lightsaber and the Keth family sword in a slow gesture, ensuring it was seen to be recognized. A sign of trust and respect. At least it offered something else to think about, other than each other.

"Now, I walk as you do. Forgive my ignorance," he said, choosing his words with careful diplomacy, compensating for his natural lack of social intelligence with a usual practised courtesy. "I am certain before this matter is done, we will have been insulted many times, and so we must be wise and generous in our forgiveness."

He unclasped his armor with a methodically practiced grace, removing his belt and any plating until only the white of his Jedi robes remained. Piece by piece, he placed the gear aside, until only the robed essential remained. Kei had been warned many times not to go on missions without his armor! If Taiden recalled correctly, Matsu had even told him herself once! How things came full circle.

With the gesture complete, he let silence settle. Taiden observed everyone present, including the Jedi—always the keen student. He studied the way they moved, the subtle shifts in posture, the unspoken dialogue of tension weaving through the gathering. For now, he mirrored Connel Vanagor's approach, maintaining a measured distance so as not to crowd the guests.. Understanding came not from words, but from watching, the weight each carried in their stance and the force.

THe tension was thick, Matsu didn't want a fight right away but she could see the smaller beings attitude as he seemed to enjoy antagonizing so she was guessing this was a big thing... the voice coming out. "Release him." THe pale skinned woman spoke as she looked at the guard who held the patchworked man for a moment before he did. Haxon moving and bowing. "Alas never an insult and for the jedi allow me to introduce THe ivory maiden Peri-Banu the princess of the frozen wastes." She skipped around and weaved when another guard tried to grab him showing more speed and evasiveness then before... "And her esteemed sister, princess Nur al-Nahar the lady of flesh and faith."

He moved around stopping in front of Matsu and the others... "And they brought you here to officiate their alliance to slaughter the princess Buddir-al-Buddoor. Their youngest sister and whom the generals of the faith have sided with in this conflict." There seemed to be tension for a moment as the pale one Peri-Banu spoke. "Enough, the generals control our sisters actions it is as plain as day. Come." She said it and turned around as the others moved through the camp towards the massive mountain and city. Nur al-Nahar staying there for a moment as she walked and spoke. "The fool is bold but he is considered a neutral influence and messenger between us as it were."

The continued walk went through camps where training and other activities were happening.. the sounds of gambling were there. "FOr the moment they grow restless... my warriors have not been this close to heretics and allowed them to live in a long time. They are straining my priestesses and slaves in their endeavors. This city of the flesh was only meant for visitors not occupation." She said the last with a sneer but offered a grin. "But I am sure we could find some for such strong looking jedi. On credit of course." She laughed while moving forward and the small man Haxon spoke. "She is a dangerous one... and her warriorrrs are like a cult more then anything... her father would be disappointed."

Matsu listened and observed but she looked at the small man. "What was their father like, if his death could cause a civil warr like this." She said it while walking and there was more to it all... it was clear easily enough but she wanted insight beyond their initial reports. "Oh... a wise man, powerful aand ruled through his might. No one would challenge him after he killed his father and brothers... and he had the most exotic treasures to maintain order from across the galaxy. A flying transport to get everywhere faster then a thoat could run and it would never tire, weapons and armor no one else could match and riches... countless gems and bars of golden shiny."

SHe was rubbing his hands together. "He took a lot when he became emperor but none more then he was able to lay claim to all of the domain and properties, servants, wives, concubines, treasures and warriors. His empire spanned over the planet and he was considered the greatest ruler we have had... until alas." He was about to speak before he was kicked and Peri-Banu spoke. "Until I cut his head off for what he did to my mother and you locked me in a cryocasket for twenty years." She looked with a sneer at the lift going up. "Come, he will stay down here in his filth or deliver a message to our sister you have arrived... it is what he does when we do not look at him report to the generals of our father."

The whole “fool” exchange was not bothering him, in fact it was somewhat entertaining, but the Shadow stayed back and let things play out. It was when they began to walk and listen to what the woman was saying. Some things soon began to stick out in his mind and started to really echo.

“Heretics” … probably them… but this could be just a word used in their culture for outsiders.

“Slaves” ... this is a problem… regardless of the culture.

She wanted to offer them consorts? Nope.

… and there is a bully.

I need to put my mask on. It’s getting harder to keep a straight face.

Slaughtering sisters, and conflicts of faith were troubling notions for one whose family ancestry had been as bloody as his. He walked in quiet contemplation at their sides. Offering Taiden a consort without years worth of appropriate courtship was like asking a bantha to study calculus—not only impractical but damned confusing for all involved. Taking a moment to rally himself. His personal effects were carried by a small silver droid, and now, dressed solely in traditional white robes, he moved with greater ease among their own traditions. Still, some points of etiquette tested even the most composed Jedi's sensibilities!

Yet he listened readily to each word spoken and watched every gesture expressed. It seemed their father had been both wealthy and feared enough to maintain the fine balance necessary for leadership over such people. Now with their resources stretched so thin, the logic of advocating peace over a costly conflict was undeniable; the contrast might prove too much for them to resist.

But how to introduce the subject with care?

"My ladies if I may, it sounds as though your father commanded great resources, despite his horrific nature. It is distressing to hear how much this civil war continues to drain them." He offered the thought with care from the sidelines. Not wishing to champion a tyrant but also reminding them of some of the benefits of the peace before.

The mountain loomed above them, a vast citadel and possible heart of their negotiations. The symbolism was not lost on him. Considering every possibility that might bring about a lasting peace, he inquired further: "Have any other efforts been made to secure that which may benefit you from outside sources?" With the force's guidance, peace might yet be guided through diplomacy, transactions, or well-placed aid, rather than the destructive nature of conquest or conflict.

Turning his head, he tried to get a read on Connel Vanagor Connel Vanagor but so far the man remained an engima, which was perhaps the most accurate read of all.

"YOu mean like the sith." Peri-Banu spoke without looking back as her arm pointed towards a large standing pole. The remnants of a flag there aas her voice came out. "They would seek to conquer us and rule to settle such things or as you say command our resources." There were laughs. "He wanted us to fight his lords and be a notch in his power grab so I agreed to make him a bannerman... I think it sends a decent statement." She said it as the dried and flayed skin was on full display with the bones polished and cleaned. The lightsaber ceremoniously in the chest with chained golden bands. ONe of the guards walking. "I guess his chains weren't broken enough."

She still moved as the buildings loomed ahead. "As to our father, he entombed my mother in the walls of their bedchamber and starved her until she was ready to eat anything he gaave her and then put her sister in there whom he had been fattening up like a succulent piece of meat. He was cruel and made sure everyone knew the language of violence." She said it while entering the building with her guards as her sister snorted... looking at Taiden. "He threw mine into a hole and then threw her family on top to crush her. I clawed my way out of the flesh pits after he was killed because his advisors who survived wanted one who could be controlled and no one will talk about what was done to his other wives."

SHe looked at Taiden while walking into the building that sounded more like an arenawith Matsu taking a moment as she looked at the ones with her and breathed in but made motion they would be coming in after a moment. "This is certainly not what I was expecting but we might need to change our tactics." She looked at the banner in the distance. "The intel we had was right and limited, this is maybe much worsebut at least we know something.... the old emperor is a sore spot for a lot of people." She said it but looked at Connel. "What is your assessment?" She asked it and wanted his opinion as she was focusing the force around them and a bubble of energy to block out the sounds.

Then she was looking at Taiden after Connel spoke and she bowed her head. "And yours so far?" She wanted to go where their minds were going cause it seemed this was going to get more before it got anywhere else.

The talk of this monster started to infuriate him, but one thing Connel had learned a long time ago was how to bury his thoughts under others. He was not liking anything that he was hearing, the talk of torture, of starvation, forced cannibalism? It was a nightmare that these people were living through, but he was not getting the whole story, that was clear.

Then they wanted to talk to him?

I could give you an opinion, but it is not entirely educated or completely informed yet, so it would not be fair to any side to give it to you right now. That was really the best answer that he could give, because right now… he just wanted to hit someone, and right now he would probably hit the wrong person.

Which is why right now he did not trust anyone that he did not travel here with.

More easily swayed by one side's opinion than Connel, Taiden often took things at face value until presented with new information. Though his features remained expressionless, his stance tensed, betraying a subtle wince at the gruesome sight of the displayed message or bannerman. The overt violence tested the limits of his resolved neutrality and contemplation.

"I am giving it all consideration, Master Ike," Taiden answered the rest through mindspeak, preferring not to be overheard.

~A symbolic, gentle yet pronounced white beacon might appear in both their minds, an image to illustrate his point, followed by words. I believe they are a brutal people. It is all they have been taught and thus all they know. They will only be reached through overt displays—but to do so in a way that does not stir this powder keg further will require tact and timing. The alternative is the absolute opposite: appealing to the nature of rebellion born from their shared trauma. They seem more blind to their lack of resources than I had hoped, and wear their resilience and independence like a survivors badge of honor.~

To blunder into this conflict, where three factions vied within an unstable political and social landscape, would be folly. Likewise, touching on trauma so deeply rooted within an individual risked provoking anxiety, anger, or worse. There was a third alternative, three separate states, which might be the only logical way forward for a temporary cease fire.

But then, Taiden was cautious about all things in life, and they had many considerations to balance here. Without even touching on faith which might unify or divide further, depending on how it was structured here. An arena, interesting, good thing the droid still carried his weapons and armor!

~What do we know of their faiths? Are they singular or plural?~

Studying both the words and the women as they walked, he remained silent for a time, mirroring the Jedi Shadow who did the same. When the moment proved too difficult to ignore, the Scholar questioned as always.

"Would it not be a blow to your father, then, to speak with something other than violence? A dagger in his violent legacy—perhaps the truest mark of rebellion against a tyrant?" Taiden threaded his words as carefully as he was able. If their father had spoken through force, and they despised his memory, then would not the ultimate defiance be peace?

She gave Taiden a look and spoke mentally while walking. 'I am not sure about them being blind to their lack of resources, they reached out because continued fighting means they would waste more.... at least by their reasoning killing off a third group means more to go around but we haven't seen farms just the warriors.' She said it while walking and being able to see some of the others. Taiden was calming in most of this and going past some of the others she could see the arena like area was filled with gladiators yes... thickly muscled and armored with weapons but there were also creatures and an area with a feast set out for everyone who was there.

'The closest we have seen faith or religion wise is that mention of a trinity that seemed to upset them.... but there are two armies of the faith. The ones controlling and manipulating their sister and the ones serving as the bulwark of the army from this city.' She said it mentally while looking at Taiden. "Something to investigaate if we can but observation is key... it doesn't always preceed well to try and have someone explain everything to you... we can't all sit around and hear a long history while dangers and death are happening." Shhe said it and coming out to the table there were places for them to be able to sit and observe the fighters.

The two were there at the center of the table with their respective bodyguards standing at the ready and servers bringing pitchers filled with drinks.. others had platters of meats, cheeses and other foods. "We speak with words jedi... violence is merely the foreplay." Peri-Banu said it while sitting there and the goblet in her hand sloshed for a moment with the sweetest scent of its content but even Matsu who didn't drink knew there was no sharpness of alcohol or more... it was smart and it seemed none of them really were drinking here at least but a few others were. One of the fighters coming though stood there while the others cleared out.

"Ahhh Rada." The name coming out as the fighter remained there in front with clasps around her wrists down slender chains. Nur al-Nahar speaking as she sat there and ate. "Last time I saw you.... you had your face buried in the entrails of your men and I believe I said I would have you killed for showing your traitorous face." There was a sneer and laugh from Peri-Banu as she was there. "Yes but it was quite humerous... you should have seen your face before the acid burned it." There was more laughter and Rada seemed to snicker. "I have no where to go, even just being out there and fighting neither raiding party I encountered could deliver a deathblow."

Nur al-Nahar remained there and snorted. "Then we'll just have to send a few ones to kill you painfully." SHe said it and turned her eyes sideways. "And you might need to get your eyes checked again sweet sister of mine... maybe that replacement eye didn't see everything so well." She laughed with a few of hers before holding a hand up towards Rada. "Wulf, see that she is killed... painfully." She said it and one of her guards moved towards the arena dropping down and standing there for a moment. Matsu's hand came out though as she spoke. "Perhaps, we can offer an alternative... this woman has wronged both of you but killing her will not bring anything."

She looked at Connel and motioned with her hand for him to go in. "We can hold her on our ship ensuring no more deaths of your people if she is so dangerous and it seems a personal problem for both of you... so we can use this as a better means to unite you are Jedi Taiden suggested... finding a new language that can be used to promote some form of peaceful understanding." SHe didn't know about peace as they would understand it but making it so that they could be seen as more useful in a situation like this was well worth it... they needed something of a better in and she spoke looking at Connel with her voice barely audible but carried on the force. 'Talk with her, learn what you can.'

Matsu moved positioning herself before the pair as she looked at them and there seemed to be a tension and then amusement. "Take her, there is little pleasure to be found in her death for either of us... we've already recovered and it is fair I suppose after what was done to her brother." There were more laughs and Matsu could feel anger radiating off of the woman as she motioned with a hand for Connel and then another for Taiden.
