Jedi Journey: Takeru

Emberlene's Daughter, The Jedi Generalist
The ship was older but their pilot was well... the jedi was skilled as far as she knew. He held himself as such and might have been the only male within the ship for the moment as Matsu sat there. She was in one of the tertiary chairs, not taking an active role in the ships functions. Observing and giving what intel she could to him and the others who were up here. Pilot, copilot, navigational sections. She sat there and brought up the information about the region of space. There wasn't a whole lot and since the time before the darkness a lot more of the information was lost. MOstly they had collections of oral tales and information from smugglers and captains who had gone to the Hellhoop. WHo had managed to survive, a woman Aphra who had gone there and the remains of a droid brain that had been involved with two teens who were going around the area and galaxy.

"There is not much, the ship is described as just apearing and disappearing within the region of space almost at will or out of a monster vid. The five though they were killed so if the ship is still traveling around then there might be some sort of new captain or it may have some will of its own." She said it and knew there might be more, what she had sen on Kashyyyk had not been simple, it was older then she knew and still there... She could feel its presence between her shoulder blades like a cold stare. Uneasiness washed over her but she was a jedi, she knew how to function with that but the closer they got to the hellhoop the stronger that feeling got. It helped if she hid herself within the force, the feeling, the sensation could go away when it dind't seem able to find her but that wouldn't have been as easy for the small team.. smallish team that had answered the call.

She had also brought them some equipment, field kits, protection amulets, environmental circlets. THe means that they will be able to survive in case of really bad things happening. THe jedi master was looking around at some of the other things she had. THe small inth metal and crystal bells tied itno her hair to jingle as she walked. The sc ented oil for her hair, the robes. She knew what she needed to take and this might not be one of the Saotome ships they could pack to the gills with all of those secret compartments.... all of those spaces but it would do. "There are also reports about some of the worlds within this region, twisted and dangerous. The infamous screaming citadel will be here and that is a place symbiotes were found. I want scans set to detect them, we don't want one of them getting acces to the ship or worse one of us."

She looked at the viewport and she could fel it, like an oppressive weight in her gut, wanting to spread while she focused on the force to keep it there, keep it at bay. Whatever it was she didn't want to let it spread unease to the others and they couldn't feel it as far as she knew. On Kashyyyk it had only found her because she had drifted into it being there at that moment... at that instance and it was able to see her, feel her or whatever it was that you could have, The screaming citadel was on a planet just inside of the hellhoop, just on the edge before they went to a place where if you wanted to be lost in the galaxy you could easily do it and few if any jedi ever went there. Most would choose to avoid it so would the pilots. She focused on the force to wash it over the ship and keep a calming presence connected for all of them.

Following the skirmish on Kasshyyyk I'd had a ship delivered to me at an undisclosed location. Taken the better part of two days moving everything around and now here she was taking her maiden voyage, The Prudii'kad hadn't been on anything short of a return trip to Kasshhyyyk. Now we were going into a section of The Unknown Regions known as the Hellhoop, not a menacing name at all.... Master [member="Matsu Ike"] was the lead more or less here but I was the navigator for sure. "So.....Master Matsu, we have the possibility of phantom ships, droid brain remnants, and a screaming citadel. Anything else I need to be aware of?"

I knew at least some of the risks of travelling The Unknown Regions....still.....there was in fact a reason most people didn't choose to venture there. Most who did came out stark raving lunatics....though I'd heard tell of the same things from each case Eldritch creatures whom had offered knowledge and power in exchange for one thing being taken back out of the unknown regions with that poor soul. None had yet done so to my knowledge which begged the question.....were these smugglers, pirates, and other people actually mad or had they been driven to that because they'd refused to allow the beings and Eldritch creatures passage out?

I'd heard tell from a few that there were ancient beings in there that were......less malevolent. More passive to simply watch they had offered gifts which some of these smuggler's brought back, with more of their minds intact than the others. As the Navigator of this voyage my job was simply to pilot and land or dock us where we needed. I was also in charge of mapping the route as we went...Once we'd landed or docked sensors would go out and we'd be exploring the Unknown regions. What that would lead to ? Force knew, as it was I was only waiting on the rest of our group to join us....

The hellhop, even the name sent shivers up his spine and probably any explorer with even the hint of exploration knowledge and history. Even for someone without a single spec of space know how would have common sense to stay far, FAR away from anything with the word hell in it, and now, himself Tanasuki Yumi was on a ship heading straight for it.... glorious. So, why was he here? well why not? After the attack on Kashyyk things had been quiet, the Sith recoiling and going back to their secluded ways. So what do the Silver Jedi do, go on a space trip to an ever deadlier place, what fun but in all honesty he needed to get out of the system for a while.

Donned in his whitrum Yukata and Sarori crafted Saber the Padawan moseyed along the bridged, sabre blades and blaster attached to the small sash that kept the fabric tight around his waist. His job? security, maybe a bit of history, but over all more a tag along with the prospect of being a part of some massive adventure that would forever be recorded in data pad for all to read. Being but a few steps behind their lead navigator [member="Andorreth Vikar"], Tanasuki could not help but throw in a small quip at the mans own slightly sarcastic comment, "hmm we may run into some deep one or who know Vong, ah but then again there are always ghostly spirits of part explores".

[member="Matsu Ike"]

A journey of exploration, a chance to get away from the temple, from all the staring eyes and whispers. The force was great, an awesome, powerful tool but the senses it brought with it, sometimes they weren't so great. Especially when they let you hear, feel what they were all thinking, the whispers of sith, of traitor that faded out the moment she stepped into a room and started up the second she left. It's was no more than she deserved, Everything about the temple seemed to grate on her senses, like a splinter under her skin she couldn't quite extract, always worrying at her in the back of her mind.

So when the opportunity to travel away from the temple came up the young woman had leapt at the chance to get away for a while, to regain her own balance. So now she rested against the wall at the back of the bridge, eyes sweeping over the scene in front of her, as her arms rested wrapped around her chest. She could see the flashing lights of the consoles, the confident movements of the pilot and navigator as they handled the ship's systems. Even the footsteps of her friend Tanasuki cause the Padawan to flinch slightly, try to hide herself back in the shadows and the obscurity of her corner of the bridge.

In between battles against tyrannical Imperials and Sith, Jyoti was back on the beat again with her newest Padawan, about to partake in the exploration of an odd and dangerous region of space known as the Hellhoop.

Because of the nature of the mission, she opted to play escort for the rest of the investigative team, leading a two man flight of Bobcats. They were long range interceptors with powerful sensor suites, making them idea for patrol scenarios like these. Best of all, they were two seaters, which meant that Jyoti could fly with Charlie and show her the ropes of piloting with the hope that she may two become a Jedi Ace someday soon.

While she and Charlie manned one Bobcat, the other was in autonomous mode, slaved to her fighter as a dedicated wingman. Communing between craft with the aid of Hydra, both fighters became an extension of the cyborg's will.

The interceptors would be positioned to trail behind the main ship of the mission, set up for some deep scanning once the party finally got moving.

"Vulture Leader, checking in," Jyoti called out over encrypted tight beam. "all set for escort duty."

After check in, she turned her attention to Charlie in the WSO (Weapon Systems Officer) seat, speaking off comms.

"Hey, so you're not just here to sight see. I want to get you into the habit of monitoring your sensors and ship health, so you'll need to be paying attention to the displays. We'll be entering a dangerous and mostly uncharted area."

[member="Asaraa Vaashe"] [member="Tanaski Yumi"] [member="Andorreth Vikar"] [member="Matsu Ike"] [member="Charlie"]

Being in the bobcat was pretty insane. Charlie had always wanted to be inside of a fighter, she had seen the Jade Squadron a few times, but never close enough to experience it. Charlie had let herself become sucked into the sights and the controls that were in front of her, it was like her X-Wing flight simulator she had back at her room. She didn’t push too many buttons only the ones that her Master had told her to press. Once they were airborne of course all that went out the door and Charlie had her head looking out the window.

Charlie wondered if they were going to remain in the air as an escort watching over the party. She didn’t pay too much attention to the briefing beyond the fact that she would be flying in one of the bobcats. Jyoti’s voice broke her daydream as she looked back to the back of the woman’s seat. The helmet she wore as a little too big, but she could still see out of it. Her head tilted slightly as she heard the woman’s request. Frowning, it seems she wasn’t going to get a bit of a joyride.

Jyoti was right though, this was still a part of her training and she needed to focus. Looking down at the panels she tried her best to understand all the numbers and what she had been told before. Looking back up she squinted. “So what exactly am I look for on the monitors?”

She could see the ones who were there with them, allowing the jedi master a chance to continue to meditate as the hellhoop pulsed in the distance. She was reaching out, she was allowing the force to guide her as she felt something was here. Waiting in the dark as the edge of it came into her mind. They had the escort from the two jedi which would serve greatly before she was speaking to the pilot. "THere is a world on the edge of the region, habitable and old. Please head towards it, they might have some fo the charts we could use to navigate the hellhoop." She knew the likely hood of actually finding something like that would be difficult but the world showed up in the records. "Well isn't that nice." That the local attraction was called the screaming citadel and it was noted as a possible locals for symbiotes did not make it the best. SHe looked at it and was trying to keep some of the look off of her face. "Take up in but stay high up, we want to scan and monitor before coming down in case of the infection."

Listening to the chatter between those on the bridge I only concerned myself with the sensors, what I could see with my eyes, and most importantly the thought of a dock. Guided by The Force I heard Master Matsu mention a habitable world and that it was old. I heard Master Matsu say to take us in but stay high up. Scans and monitoring of the place before landfall, which made sense as there was no telling what lived this far out. "Aye Master Matsu taking us in. Vulture leader be advised I have your signal now, I'll be tying it into ship comms. We'll be breaking atmo here shortly and launching sensors to determine if it's safe to make landfall." Looking at my screens I felt the place out with The Force. Having launched several sensor probes I was reviewing the results and I noticed the ship sensors picking up a hub of electronic signatures.

Droids most likely, this close to the entrance of The Hellhoop it'd make sense to have droids guarding an archive of charts and information regarding the Hellhoop and what possibly lay inside. Looking at Master Matsu I said "Master Matsu sensors have picked up a hub of electronic signatures. It's likely there may be an archive there containing charts or other information concerning the Hellhoop, no organic signatures within the hub location. Am I cleared to bring us down?"

While pacing around Tanasuku felt a small tingle in his back, alerting the boy to the others presence, a lingering figure shrouded in shadows, the feelings of regret and slight amount of sadness coming from them. "You may hide in the darkness but there are at least 5 different ways I know your there without even looki0gn, why do you consort with the darkness? come step out into the light so my eye's might bear witness for your figure, as I feel you are familiar yet are also different". Tana slowly turned around, his stoic gaze falling upon ([member="Asaraa Vaashe"]) the hidden figure, his more composed traditional Riben-Jin persona on display, holding an air of seriousness but also calmness, approachable but still not overly casual, "you do not have anything to fear from me". In the background he could hear [member="Andorreth Vikar"] conversing with [member="Matsu Ike"], the ships reaching it's goal, thing's already starting to kick up out in space.

[member="Charlie"] - [member="Jyoti Nooran"] -

"Your primary task here will be to keep an eye on the status of each fighter," she explained. "You're looking at items like reactor levels, hull integrity, shield levels, etc. By default, all that information is displayed on the secondary monitors under your primary display. The system will warn you when levels move out of normal ranges, but understandably that's hard to pick up on in the thick of combat. That's why all SJO fighters are hardwired with dedicated droid brains for starfighter maintenance."

The Merlin holographic system that powered the cockpit was sophisticated enough to create holopanes that could be manipulated at will, but Jyoti wanted to have Charlie start off with the basics reading physical displays.

"Your second task is to keep reviewing sensor readouts, tracking friendlies and looking out for any contacts to maintain situational awareness. There is a good chance that we may run into trouble, as recent disappearances in the area suggest foul play. Again, the system is there to help you, so it'll help draw your attention to objects of interest."

"Lastly, listen to comms and monitor our text chats. You don't need to say or type out anything, but it's important that you pay attention to what other crews are saying to each other, asking questions or making requests. Communication is key."

Individually, all these tasks were rather easy to accomplish, but altogether they could be difficult to manage. Charlie would need to learn to prioritize and quickly switch between tasks as the situation demanded.

By now, the main ship holding the bulk of the exploration team was making had begun to scan the surface of a planet selected by Master Ike for an eventual survey on foot.

"This is Vulture Leader, reading you loud and clear." she said to Vikar over comms. "We'll provide top cover in orbit and focusing on monitoring space while you get to ground."

"It's not about consorting with the darkness, it's about feeling comfortable with it." A pair of aqua eyes flicked over to stare at Tanasuki, observing him for a long moment before the other padawan pushed away from the wall, stepping out of the shadows of the bridge to stand next to her friend. While she might have stepped away from the shadows of her corner of the bridge, a part of her still felt light she had brought hte shadows with her, trailing off her shoulders like a cloak wrapping around the core of her being, anchored into her soul. "I...I'm not scared..." the disclaimer rolled of Asaraa's tongue without any conscious thoughts on her part, "Well ok...I'm a little scared," she admitted quietly staring down at her hands. "What if I don't fit in anymore?" She gave the pilot a quick glance before letting a small smile touch her face, "I mean, I don't exactly look or feel much like me these days...wow I never thought I'd be saying stuff like that."

[member="Tanaski Yumi"]

"The shadow, a friend, wise warrior use well in combat, many things the shadows can conceal from the enemy eye, even with all the technology we have today". Tana's lazuli gaze watched on as the new [member="Asaraa Vaashe"] stepped from the shadow, light shining off of her now pink head, long strands of the colored hair running down her scalp. It was rather strange, a new voice, new face and overall slightly different personality due to the change, but he knew straight away this woman was the Togurta Jedi General who he had fought alongside many times in the past. "Haa hee, a natural repose to unknown is fear, just do not let it grip your heart", he replied with a small laugh, walking up to the girl, placing two hands against her shoulder. "Tis good see you though Vaashe-sama, looking dead almost you where when taking out of temple, take time for new body to become comfortable no"? His speech pattern was a little broken but never the lest it convey a warm welcoming feeling of genuine care, not wanting to lose somone to the Sith so soon.

Matsu was looking at the reading and gave a nod of her head to the pilot. The man was being careful which endeared him to her a little more. Others might have just landed and been wreckless. "Get us as close to one fo the larger rooftops as you can and we'll get down. Be prepared for quick emergency evac should we call for it understood." Matsu said it while she was watching the scanner and adjusting it.... Droids were one thing the symbiotes were something else... something older and more dangerous that she wasn't going to try and study except in book or holos. The risk of them was just too much as far as she was concerned heading towards the ramp.

"Alright, stay together as a team, watch each others back and if the scanners ping." She said it and was presenting the wrist chevron pads. "Run as quickly as you can to somewhere high. The symbiotes are dangerous, more so then many have realized over the years and it has caused entire civilizations to fall from a small infection." She was looking at it and left up some fo the imperial orders where they would glass entire planets should there be a chance of the creatures existing. High grade plasma heat was needed to make sure they vanished so their sabers would be helpful but she didn't want to take the risk they might get someone harmed.

"The place where we are going though is the citadel in the center of the city, we are getting as close to it as we can but it housed a collection of artifacts, information and any number of things that was presented to the queen here long ago. As a means for her to grant a special favor only the finest and oddest objects of the galaxy would do for her single favor." In some ways it wasn't just credits she had had credtis but instead she preferred collecting anything that might be around of interest so Matsu was opening the doors now and jumped out landing in a small crouch as the air around her was still and warmed by the ventas of the building.

Hearing Master Matsu's instructions to land on one of the larger rooftops as possible I nodded and headed towards the most prominent spire at the center that began expanding a landing platform out as I approached. Tying automated ship protocols into my left gauntlet and helmet I began setting us down. I'd read about weird creatures out this far, symbiotes were one distinctly unpleasant creature. Brains and plasma for diet? No thank you. I'd actually packed some portable plasma venting packs for a distraction in case of these buggers. Everyone began setting off The Prudii'kad, I acknowledged Vulture Leader' announcement and as I set down I instinctively pulled on my buy'ce and locked it in place. I'd already loaded up for enough ordnance to take out a raging Krayt dragon, the pack I was securing was part sensor, and part ordnance. My HUD had flicked to life and I routed all the automated sequences for the ship to my HUD.

The wrist Chevron pad Master Matsu had presented us each with I clipped to my left wrist gauntlet. Moving towards one of the secret bits on The Prudii'kad I checked over everything and entered one of the torpedo launch tubes. Triggering the doors shut I launched myself from the ship and ticked down time in my head. Five, four, three, two, one. Triggering the burst on the torpedo tube I emerged as the tube burst apart and I launched myself with the atmospheric jets in my armor towards the spire I'd landed on. Breaching through one on the viewports on the spire I rolled and stood, deploying a sensor pod from my armor I flicked the lights from my armor on and began to sweep where I'd made my entry. Time to find starcharts and arcane things......

[member="Matsu Ike"] ~ [member="Tanaski Yumi"] ~[member="Asaraa Vaashe"] ~[member="Jyoti Nooran"] ~ [member="Charlie"] ~[member="Zavii"]

Zavii had spent most of the trip on the holonet, drooling over different musical instruments she might want to purchase if she ever got the chance. She hardly even noticed when they entered realspace until an announcement came over the ships intercom and she left her bunk to join the others. She noticed [member="Tanaski Yumi"] talking to [member="Asaraa Vaashe"] and gave them each a warm smile and a gentle hand on the shoulder as she passed toward the front of the ship where [member="Matsu Ike"] was handing out personal beacons and warning of the dangerous bugs who had somehow gotten the perverted name of symbiotes.

Despite the dangerous fauna sure to be afoot, the Padawan had opted not to bring any extra weapons or gear, since she didn't expect to be shot at. Her usual sky-blue robes hung about her form, held closed in the middle by her belt. Her hair was done in a ponytail with three extra bands along the length of it and her lightsaber and slug pistol hung on opposite hips. She tapped her fingernails on the matte black gun, which she had cleaned and oiled for entirely too long after the last time it was fired... she didn't want any sticky residue gumming up the works if she needed to use it and so hadn't even taken it to the range in a few weeks. Still, she had practiced with it for a few years now. She wasn't likely to miss.

At the front of the ship, Zavii took the little chevron-shaped beacon from Master Ike and put it inside one of her belt pouches for safe keeping, since she didn't have any armor to attach it to. She followed the older woman as she approached the doors of the ship and leaped out. "Alright, everyone," she called back to the others behind her, "Let's go find some neat stuff to put in the archives!" Turning to look at the several-meter drop, the Zabrak leaned forward until she fell out of the doorway and curled up, completing two full flips before sending a powerful Force push into the ground beneath to slow herself and land on one knee, one foot and one hand, with her inert lightsaber in hand while she scanned the area for anything remotely threatening... or interesting.

Staring down at the monitor she listened to Jyoti ramble on about everything she needed to be aware of. This was nothing like the games she had played before where you were an X-Wing fighter pilot. Eyes darted from every corner of the monitor and she sighed quietly trying to mentally take down notes of the important things. The trouble with trying to do that, practically everything her Master said was important.

Adjusting the helmet, she continued to monitor everything, her mind wondered how things were going to be if they were in a situation where they had to combat against something. At least Jyoti was here, if Charlie was alone – things wouldn’t be as smooth as they were going for the most part. Eyes looking up away from the panels she glanced out to see what was happening. “So, all of this is monitored by the pilot even during combat?” Remembering the mention of the droid brain, Charlie raised an eyebrow.

“How does a droid brain work? Is it another entity of the ship itself running on a series of checks and code that it processes?” It was a fascinating thing, she looked back down at the monitor and read them once more. “Everything seems to be okay. Nothing seems out of the ordinary. You think we’re going to run into anything out here, Master?” Her eyes peeled again away from the monitor and back out to their surroundings. “Something feels off about all of this.” Charlie wondered if it was just the nerves of being responsible for something while in the fighter. It was ignorant of her to think she was here for a joyride with Jyoti.

Tana returned a not back to the [member="Zavii"], glad to see that the Zabrak had joined them on the expedition, giving [member="Asaraa Vaashe"] a small, 'lets go' wave of the hand following the rest of the group out of the ship and down the ramp into the dark citadel like place. The giant spire on which they landed was quite breathtaking, sure their where many planets with just as high buildings, but in contrast to the smaller complexes around one felt very tall when looking over the dystopian landscape. The chilling wind from so far up bit at his face a little, but otherwise the Jin's skylar outfit providing decent protection against the weather which battered against the massive tower.

As per usual the boy wore his duel vibro blades, but in addition had his new and vary fancy saber hilt resting within arms reach and though looking very ceremonial worked more the well in combat. "I am all good a ready to go Zavii Wavvy", he replied to the Zabrak's gun-ho attitude, considering how there were possible going up some brain eating bugs, perhaps a helmet would have been in order before coming here. "So master [member="Matsu Ike"], how do you plan on having us get to the citadel, sure landing up here was a good idea, but that's a long way down, don't have any wind suits on ya right about now"? Fast, easy to transports, stylish but most of all silent and hard to detect, combined that with a few force powers and you could pretty much fly.

[member="Charlie"] - [member="Andorreth Vikar"] - [member="Jyoti Nooran"]

The young Zabrak held her crouched pose- one hand flat on the ground and the other held straight out to the side, holding her saber hilt. In this position she could stretch her senses, maintain a low-profile, move to evade danger or leap into action with relative ease and deadly quickness. She remained still while the other Jedi disembarked from the ship behind her. Then [member="Tanaski Yumi"] opened his mouth. Zavii gave a heavy sigh, stood up and turned around halfway to show off a brand new facial expression; a glare of annoyed disappointment that managed to be tight around the eyes and lax in the jaw. She hoped desperately that he would quickly figure out what he had done, or that one of the other women would give the Jin a clue so that she didn't have to yell at him.

When he changed the subject she rolled her eyes, clipped her lightsaber to her belt and produced her rappel from a pouch, wiggling it in her fingers with a raised eyebrow. "Standard issue, lul. Die Rrainjers put on classes every few weeks fir training."

Matsu was looking at it, she was looking at the ones who were there when Tana spoke and she looked at how Zavii seemed to react. "Getting into the citadel we can use the archive droids. They are good for slicing but we will investigate while moving up towards it first." She said it while walking towards the buildings and held her hand out to some the doors opened and search with the scanner. The jedi master wanted to be careful and she knew there wer some droids thanks to the scans. "Stick together as much as you can and if you see anything have Master Nooran and her padawan in the ships search overhead first."

I'd already breached through the upper levels of the archives. Generally beasties tended to reside towards lower levels from my experience.... however being up in the higher levels felt wrong. Down to the very fibers in my clothing it was wrong here. I wasn't planning on spending much time here it was unwise in the extreme to even be apart from the group. Moving over to what appeared to be a terminal of archaic design I pulled two jacks from my left gauntlet and plugged them into ports on the terminal and I instantly felt even more wrong. I began a simultaneous data mine and transmission to The Prudii'kad's computers. The information stored here, however ancient it was could be understood in time, Thing was....nobody was sure of anything here. This far from civilization and this close to the unknown anything could happen.

I felt...something. No. Someone was here with me in the same section of the archives....which happened to be impossible. More for the fact that everyone else was either in fighters airborne, or below and making their way up through the citadel. "Wraith.....wraith......Wraith!" The words echoed like shrieking electricity through my veins and mind. "Wraith. You ssssee in a way that othersss might not. You are ssssuited to the tasssk of pathfinding the Unknown regions. Remember though....not everything means something there. The lawssss of the universsse are often... Twisssted there. It will drive ssssome to madness keep your mindsss open to the possssibilitiesss. We await your arrival wraith...." Then as if nothing had happened the voice? No that had been multiple voices twisted into one. They were gone, the download of the archive information on this whole level was nearing completion. That voice in my mind was unsettling to say the least. My mind wasn't easily broken into like a corner store market on Triple Zero. That entity hadn't even tried to break past my mental barriers, it had simply bypassed them completely.

It had been polite though or as polite as a mind-invading entity could be. Certainly it could have done worse had it wished to do so.....The download of this level pinged on my gauntlet and I was ready to simply move on to snatch and grab stuff. Data discs, journals, anything worth noting was getting photographed and recorded. Hopefully nobody else had been mind-probed it was disturbing enough as a Knight but as a padawan that wouldn't be good at all.
