Jedi Covenant Q+A

Taken from: What Is The Jedi Covenant?

The Jedi Covenant is a group of Traditionalist Jedi who have removed themselves from the ruling of the Jedi High Council and the Galactic Republic both. This is due to the core belief in their ideals that Jedi throughout history have placed their overall focus upon the protection of the Republic and it's citizens over the rest of the Galaxy. In a time where there are various expanding nations it seems contradictory to limit the aid a Jedi can render and the defence they can bring to just one, when a defining tenet of their Order is to respect all life equally and in turn to defend and aid all who require it. The work of the Jedi Order should not end where the borders of the Republic meet with another nation.

Members of the Jedi Covenant are encouraged to explore the Galaxy freely in order to give their assistance where necessary, while removing the threat of darkness in the Galaxy in the form of the eradication of the Sith and their corruption. Alongside this it is expected that they act as diplomats alongside nations in order to strengthen trade and peace between the Galactic Powers in order to bring about an eventual Galaxy-wide state of serenity and prosperity.

By following a Traditionalist approach the Jedi Covenant follow the teachings of the Jedi Mantra and the Jedi Code over the New Jedi Era, forbidding marriage and any conflicts of interest which may be brought about. They also believe in following the traditional Jedi Trials of Knighthood in order to obtain the position of Jedi Knight, and in turn believe that a Jedi Knight or Master must have only one student at any given time, ensuring that they might dedicate themselves to the training of their student while building a connection through the Force which will aid in future endeavours.

For one, we do not hide who we are or what we are doing; we purposely seek to aid whichever Galactic Power requires our help (excluding Sith, but we'd aid their citizens (A) ) and we do not answer to the Republic or the High Council in regards to leadership, the handing out of missions etc. Our focus is on all evenly as opposed to the Republic with the rest of the Galaxy as an after thought.

This one post is meant to be simple levity (because I like the concept)

Bespin huh? Will the Jedi Masters be finishing their introduction with:

"So, if you follow those simple rules, I promise you will not fall off the edge of the city."

Not trying to stick a thorn in your side, but thats pretty much exactly what the Silver Jedi are. Taken Directly from part of their faction description;

"We are devoted to the protection of all those helpless in the galaxy, aiding those in need if. "

That's pretty much what you're doing as well, it's just you're forming a different Council to be ruled by which to me just means you're really just splitting the potential Jedi that could exist into three separate factions. The Jedi in the Republic, SJO, and now the Covenant. Why not try joining SJO instead of making yet another Jedi Faction?

Because as mentioned above, the Silver Jedi are secret and that is not my intention here; Jedi should be able to help without slinking in the shadows. In fact the less deception they show the better, it builds trust between them and the Galaxy at large.

Bespin Enclave! I remember Cloud City when it was a Bando Gora base and Siobhan purged them with extreme prejudice. That was fun. As was collapsing a building on a giant monster. Wonder what she'll think about traditionalist Jedi Without Borders setting up shop on her old stomping ground.

Best of luck with this group!

You don't know the Seren I know. She would most definitely chuck you over the edge, so long as nobody is looking.
Surely would.

[member="Darth Ayra"] There's this place called Dathomir. Within this magical place is a family of horned brothers. Within that family is a Zabrak who is seeking passage off the planet so he can kill, maim, slaughter, rend, and tear everything in sight. Just saiyan.

[member="Jasmine Lancaster"]. You are a p.y.t.

[member="Asha Seren"] So, if they are Traditionalist, does that mean no relationships at all? Also, if I were to join, would I have to go through the trials before being considered a true Jedi Knight or what?

@Veino Garn

We are currently unaware of their existence.

Wrong Asha Seren :p this isn't the same Asha who tried to kill 2 childhood friends and hung a Republic Hero out on the senate building...

Thanks hun, shame Sio wouldn't join <3

No relationships save for during a crisis (eg; old republic jedi law was if there was a Jedi of a race which was nearing extinction then they could in order to procreate etc)

No, you wouldn't; but if you joined as a Padawan you would.
