"Uh, yeah. Hello. I'm Nathan. Looking to figure out how to sign up to this place. I normally operate in GA space functioning as a courier--

(Cutaway of Legionnaire Assassins getting exploded by a Mini Nuke blast)

--between various Enclaves. I deliver medical supplies, messages, that sort of thing. I'm also a surgeon..." Nathan answered Katarine Ryiah Katarine Ryiah , his heavily modified Training Lightsaber glinting in the light on his belt, though his robes looked incredibly cheap and shabby compared to the finer robes everyone else walked around in. But he had a powerful Force Presence, in spite of his low tier gear

He recognized at least one person. Lossa Aureus Lossa Aureus , while the others, such as Brandyn Sal-Soren Brandyn Sal-Soren and Kas Larsen Kas Larsen , he thought he had only seen at a distance elsewhere.

"Nice place you got here..." Nathan remarked in low key fashion.

Stood with the masters and being relaxed while on the planet Naboo he felt a slight twinge in the F0rce that another was close by. Kas turned his attention when his master Katarine approached and spoke with Nathan.

Casually, the young Jedi nodded his head. All while he had another thought and wondered where Mellomere Mellomere and Tirenn Kaelith Tirenn Kaelith could be since his last visit here. Perhaps in a class or training with other masters. Mellomere could be in the cafeteria she did mention that was her favourite place outside of studying and training.

"Nice to meet you, Nathan. I'm Kas Larsen. Padawan Learner under the wing of Master Ryiah here." Kas said that with a brief smile at the corner of his mouth. Honouring Katarine in taking him on as a Padawan.

He remained with the other masters who grouped together. Happy to continue socialising with them.

Youngling Training Hall

Hu9teba.png
Elenna observed as Zahari timidly entered the training hall- her eyes telling a story of caution while her face was warm and welcoming. She listened intently to her advice, which she was pleasantly surprised to hear.

Caution, advice on the Sith, and a highlight on the importance of calmness. Perhaps she could've worded it in a more youngling-friendly way, but Elenna couldn't fault her for that- it felt like progress, and Elenna had learnt something herself.

"Thank you, Zah-" she began, turning her head as Zahari left the room with haste. Elenna understood, and offered a reassuring smile to the younglings.

Her eyes then turned to Cerys, "Of course, thank you for joining us, Padawan Cerys..." she spoke gently, offering a small head-nod as Cerys took a bow. "...and that invitation was for you, my dear Cerys- though you're more than welcome to bring young Zahari with you, should her rehabilitation go well," she smiled softly, with a kind, warm smile.

With the duo having departed the training hall to continue their tour, her attention returned to her distracted younglings.

"Okay!" she clasped her hands together gently, "Back to your positions, close your eyes..." her voice slowed, "...and breathe..."

[Thanks for the invite Bri]

Naboo was almost too beautiful for words. Eve had spent the early morning wandering Theed’s sunlit streets, marvelling at fountains carved from pale stone and windows overflowing with flowering vines. Every corner seemed to glow, alive with music and colour. It reminded her, just a little, of the way Eshan's capital looked in the spring, but softer and grander somehow.

More than once, she caught herself smiling foolishly at strangers, swept up in the elegance of it all. And each time, her thoughts slipped away to Tigris. She pictured them here together, walking hand in hand beneath arched bridges, laughing over sweet pastries by the river.

Maybe… even on their honeymoon.

At that thought, her cheeks flushed pink. She lifted her hand, fingers brushing the delicate band of her engagement ring. It still felt new, like a tiny star of light hidden against her skin.

A soft nudge against her ankle pulled her from her thoughts. She looked down to find Isari blinking up at her, silver eyes bright beneath those sleek silver stripes. The little fox tilted her head and gave a quiet chuff, as though scolding Eve for drifting off into daydreams.

"Alright, alright," Eve murmured with a smile. "We’re going."

She made her way toward the temple, visa tucked into the pouch at her hip, Isari trotting beside her with a tail like a white silk plume. Eve was aware, keenly so, that she was a guest here. The New Jedi Order was far from the High Republic’s domain, and stepping into another temple felt a little like stepping into someone else’s home. But as she climbed the broad marble steps, all those nerves melted away.

The temple rose before her in graceful tiers of stone and glass, sunlight glinting off domed roofs. Vines twisted around white columns, swaying gently in the warm breeze. She stood still a long moment, her sole silve eye tracing every detail. It was so different from Tython's plains, so different from Coruscant’s steel towers. She could almost feel the Force humming through the marble itself, calm and serene.

Following a soft path lined with flowers, Eve found herself in the gardens. A hush hung over the space, as though the air itself was holding its breath. Isari nosed curiously among the blossoms, delicate paws silent on the stone path.

Eve let her fingertips trail across petals in shades of pale blue and creamy white, inhaling the soft, green scent of leaves warmed by sun. For a moment, she simply stood there, eyes closed, listening to birdsong and the quiet trickle of a nearby fountain. She felt her heartbeat slow, felt the familiar warmth of the Force weaving around her.

She opened her eyes, a shy smile curving her lips. Even if she was an outsider… she was glad she’d come.

And perhaps… she hoped someone might say hello.

She had been just making her way back to her quarters, flowers in hand to brighten up a corner of her room, when Ala noticed a wandering soul. She smiled softly, feeling not just the aura of this place, but the expectant heart of the young woman.

The small Master walked with a stutter step, almost skipping, to the newcomer. And that is when she saw the little critter at her side.

All thoughts of decorum, and charm were out the window. "Oh. My. Word. What is that and where do I get one just like it?"

She had never thought about owning a pet before, but now it was all she could think about.

"Can I pat it? Is it wild? Does it bite? What is it's name?" She said looking over it with wide eyed wonder, "name's Ala Quin by the way..."

She looked up, stuck her hand out for a quick hand shake and then looked back down at the little critter.

"OOOOOOOOH so cute."

"Nice to meet you, Larsen..." Nathan said with a nod, more outgoing and friendly here than he had ever been in the NJO, though the factor of having a family had changed him deeply in ways he was still struggling to understand.

"Jedi Knight. Guardian, to be specific..." Nathan trailed. "When I'm not running deliveries of course."

Nathan stole a glance at the others with him and Katarine Ryiah Katarine Ryiah , such as Lossa Aureus Lossa Aureus and Brandyn Sal-Soren Brandyn Sal-Soren .

"Nice to meet all of you, of course..." Nathan continued. "And of course, nice to run into you, again, Lossa." who he had shown the basics of Force Teleportation a long time ago.

"Been a while since Jakku." he said to her before turning back to Kas and Katarine.

"Have you been training your Padawan long? I myself have yet to acquire a Padawan to train...just recently knighted, in fact..." Nathan said to her.

Eve blinked, momentarily caught off guard by the whirlwind of excitement that was Ala Quin. She glanced down at Isari, who had frozen like a little silver statue, staring up at Ala with wide silver eyes. Through their bond, Eve felt the quiet flicker of an impression that could be easily translated into a single, decisive word:

~Loud~

Eve gently pressed back across the bond, sending a warm impression of soft green leaves and gentle encouragement:

~Be nice. Friend~

Isari gave a tiny huff, as though resigning herself to the sudden onslaught of enthusiasm. Slowly, she relaxed, sniffed delicately in the stranger's direction, then sat down primly, tail curling around her paws. She even leaned forward, ears flicking forward in invitation for a pat.

Eve’s smile unfurled like sunlight.

"Her name’s Isari," she said softly. "She’s a Miralune fox, from Eshan. They’re very rare these days. But… she formed a Force bond with me when I went home last year, and, well, we’ve been companions ever since."

She looked back up, silver eye bright with a gentle curiosity. She took the woman's hand in the brief shake.

"It’s lovely to meet you, Ala. I’m Everest Vale… but most people call me Eve. I’m from the New Jedi Order."

She offered a small, graceful bow, robes shifting around her like pale riverwater.

"Greetings Eve. Welcome the Shiraya's Sanctuary. I hope that you can find what you need here," she said as she bowed down toward the little critter. Her eyes though were focused on Eve.

Her nose wrinkled in that Ala way as she turned her attention to the fox. She tried to calm her enthusiasm, sensing the awkwardness she was creating in the little thing. "I am sorry...Isari...if I bothered you...I am a bit of an acquired taste...not that I want you to...eat..." Ala frowned, and shook her head lightly, sending her mass of curls into a flurry.

Slowly, he hand reached forth, along with a resonant joyous aura that came from the heart, and she scratched Isari behind the ear for just a moment. "...welcome to Naboo, little fox." This time she whispered.

She did not push things any further with Isari, instead, standing to direct Eve on with a swoosh of her hand. "Please. Walk with me. I would love to hear of the journey that the Force has had you on. Please don't leave anything out...I am sure your story is beautiful."

Isari tilted her head sharply to one side, silver ears flicking as she stared up at Ala, as if trying to puzzle out the words acquired taste and eat. Eve couldn’t help it. A grin broke over her face, bright and sudden as sunlight.

"Don’t worry," she said, laughter sparkling in her voice. "I think you’re safe."

As Ala reached out and scratched behind Isari’s ear, the little fox blinked slowly, shoulders loosening as though deciding that perhaps this strange woman wasn’t so dangerous after all. A soft wave of warmth flowed through the bond, a gentle flicker of trust and approval. Eve felt the sensation like sunlight blooming in her chest. She glanced back up, silver eye shining.

"She likes you," she said softly.

When Ala invited her to walk, Eve’s face softened into a shy smile.

"Thank you. I’d love to join you. It’s my first time visiting Naboo… and this temple."

She fell into step beside Ala, Isari close at her heel, as they moved along the garden path. She hesitated, cheeks pinkening, when Ala asked about her story. A quiet, self-conscious laugh escaped her.

"I… don’t know if my story’s very exciting," she confessed. "I’ve been training with the New Jedi Order for almost two years now, under Grandmaster Valery Noble. I'm approaching the end of my padawanship now. The prospect of becoming a Knight gives... mixed feelings. Before that… I was just a simple country girl from southern Eshan." She lifted one hand, as if brushing invisible threads from the air. "Sometimes, I still feel like I am."

Her smile returned, gentle and full of wonder.

"I always wanted to see Naboo… and to meet the Jedi here. And now I’m thinking I’ll have to bring my fiancé to Theed one day. It’s so beautiful here."

She did not ask permission, but Ala's arm looped around Eve's and held it like it was precious. "Valery?" She said, her voice quaking just a little, "you might be surprised to know...that it was I...who discovered the cryo pod when Valery had been in stasis for...like...a really really long time..."

Her eyes grew distant. Memories of her time with Valery, and their last words with each other, they were still raw. Despite her new life, and all that it entailed, there was a part of her heart that still beat just for her friend.

"Ahem...Valery is a dear friend. A...dear friend."

Her face revolted against her dip into melancholy with a smile and twinkle in her eyes. "Don't put your story down, Eve. You have a tale to tell as beautiful as Naboo itself...probably more so. You will find there are plenty of people in this galaxy that will happily disparage you. You don't need to do it to yourself."

She squeezed Eve's arm, as they turned a corner towards the open door of the training balcony. "The view from up here is lovely."

"You will always be who you were, Eve. While adding the responsibility of Knight, your upbringing will provide a unique outlook that will create a strong weave to the tapestry that is the Jedi..."

Her eyes widdened.

"Fiancé! OH tell...me...everything! Tall....dark...handsome...or brooding and resolute? Are they Jedi too? Have you gone on missions together? How did you meet? Sorry about all the questions...I just...love...love."

Eve blinked, startled again, though this time it wasn’t from enthusiasm, but from the quiet weight of what Ala had just shared.

"You… found her?" she breathed, eyes wide.

Her gaze dropped for a moment, to where their arms were linked, to the soft garden path beneath their feet. Then she looked back up, her expression gentling.

"Then I have a lot to thank you for." There was no fanfare in her voice, only the quiet truth of it. "She’s done so much for me. Guided me. Helped me become someone I thought I’d never be able to be." A soft breath. A smile that barely touched her lips but glowed in her eyes. "She’s... everything I hope to be one day."

When Ala encouraged her not to disparage herself, Eve looked away shyly, brushing a strand of silver hair behind her ear. Compliments always sat strangely on her shoulders.

"Thank you," she said softly, with a shy curve of her mouth. "I suppose… that little farm girl grew the roots I stand on now."

As they turned toward the open air of the training balcony, Isari trotted ahead a few paces, tail swaying, then paused at the edge to peer over the view below. Her ears flicked backward, catching the conversation but keeping her attention on the wind. Then came Ala’s delighted exclamation.

"Fiancé!"

Eve let out a startled laugh, cheeks blooming pink.

"Yes! Um… we only just got engaged, actually."

She laughed again, softer this time, the memory warming her chest like a fire.

"She’s so wonderful. Beautiful, and strong. A warrior, in every way that matters. But she’s… gentle with me. Patient. And so brave. Fearless, even."

Eve smiled to herself, her fingers brushing the ring at her side.

"She's Jedi too. We met in a class… and it was like we both knew right away. I can't explain it. She’s steady, consistent. She holds space for me even when I don’t know who I am. I... don't know if that makes sense."

She looked at Ala then, eyes alight.

"And now that I’ve seen Theed… I think I’ll have to bring her here. She’d love it. Naboo’s too beautiful not to share."
