PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION

Jay is a young woman of fairly unremarkable build - average height and weight, maybe a touch on the shorter side. Her dark hair is usually some kind of a mess, and has a habit of getting long as she forgets (or "is too busy") to get it cut. Her eyes are a glistening indigo hue, and have a bright, inquisitive sheen to them. As befits her lifestyle, she's usually seen in comfortable, easy-to-move-in clothes: flight jackets, bomber jackets (she's very fond of Corellian fashion), pants with many, many pockets, vests with the same. Lots of places to hide a holdout blaster, vibroblade, or even some credits. And, often, baggy enough to conceal her slightly more athletic than expected physique. She does, however, clean up very well. On the few and far between occasions she's made to clean up.

PERSONALITY AND BELIEFS

Jay believes strongly that the problems of the galaxy are definitely not hers to solve. The galaxy is too big, and she's so very, very small. But that doesn't mean she can't make little differences, where she can. A smuggler by trade, she takes any opportunities she finds to deliver things people need to places where those things are denied them.

Sure, that puts her on the other side of the law here and there, but Jay is a firm believer that the law is not a good indicator of morality. Consequently, she finds herself more often than not gravitating toward the Hidden Path.

Besides. She's a pretty good pilot!

STRENGTHS

Piloting: She's good behind a stick!

Shooting: She's a good shot with the blaster pistol. Probably not the best, and the bigger the gun the less familiar she probably is with it, but she can probably hit the broad side of a gundark.

Force Sensitive: She gets hunches. Feelings, you know? Maybe someone can teach her more about how that works, but for now, she's just occasionally very very lucky.

WEAKNESSES

Avoidant: Jay would much, much rather run than fight. She's no coward, of course. She'll fight when a fight needs to happen, she'll stick up for herself and stick up for others. But personal conflicts? Someone she respects yelling at her? Jay shrinks from that sort of thing. She'll buckle like a belt under pressure from someone who's earned her respect - or earned respect in a cause she believes in, or has actual power over her (actual power! Not just any stuffed imperial trying to see her cargo bay, they can get spaced).

Broke: Jay isn't good with credits. It's not her fault (so she says), but she just can't hold on to the things. There's always something that needs to be fixed, or upgraded, or replaced. Consequently, Jay is often... behind on her debts, and is almost never the one to volunteer to pay for something. Not that she doesn't want to! But she already spent it all on power converters.

"Improvisor:" Jay doesn't "do" planning. Oh, sure, she'll try. But the plans will fall apart immediately, despite all her best effort beforehand. An unforeseen complication, an overestimated skill, a forgotten detail. It's lead to her more or less given up on the endeavor entirely. Which really damages her ability to do things long-term.

Commitment: She doesn't know what that word means. Is that Huttese?

HISTORY

One of many orphans in the galaxy these days, Jay hails originally from Corellia, but she grew up in the hyperspace lanes, on ships, in stations. When she was young, she fell in with some criminal groups, got the wrong sort of education. Once she was old enough, she hit the stars running. Finagled herself a ship (some say she stole it, some say she won it in a sabacc game, some say she bought it legally but those people are probably idiots), pointed it at space, and never looked back. She's been making her way through the galaxy ever since, earning just enough from this job to make it to the next.

More recently, she's found herself helping out with the Hidden Path. Their ideals - and methods - appeal to her, although she's afraid to actually sign up. That seems like it might be something she can't back out of, and Jay does not like deals she can't back out of. Or run away from.
