  SUMMARY​

  
  Jan's story is similar to other the other Beroyas and Awauds on Vlemoth Port.
  
  Their ancestors settled an enclave of Mando'ade on the planet and it was maintained for centuries. In most recent times, Lyrdel Beroya and then his daughter Shel had held the titles of Alor of the joint clans of Beroya and Awaud.
  
  Jan herself had been born on Vlemoth Port into the Clan proper and had grown up in the warrior ways of her people, honed from a young age. A lively girl with the will to fight. She was raised with stories of the Nautolan Alors and how they combated not only the conventional enemies of the Enclave, but also unconventional ones like those infected by the Fireflash Virus that had spread through Enclave territory. And had emerged victorious, despite Shel being mortally wounded in the Battle of Rothana and later succumbing to those wounds.
  
  In modern times, Kel Awaud acted as Alor of the Clans, keeping the warrior regimen that Vlemoth Port's Mando'ade were known for. So Jan was sharpened into a proficient commander both on the ground and on a ship, as was custom while holding fast to the teachings of the Manda.
  
  The Clan still held contact with Kestri, even after the fall of the war machine, but the young woman still grew up mostly away from most of the Enclave politics, as was the norm for the Vlemoth Port Mando'ade.
  
  But things had started to change. A call to ready arms was made from the Enclave capital - from the shadows and it held the promise of steel drawing blood.
  
  And Jan was more ready than ever to be among those to answer...
