Jalen Kai'el is a clone of Jastile Kai'el, a now deceased Jedi Master. Jalen was one of the first clones made by Jastile, but was quickly deemed a failure, kept on ice, and ultimately forgotten about. He would be found long after Jastile's departure by locals of the planet he had been made on, Lothal. Jalen would live with these farmers for some time before pirates would raid their small settlement, looting it, burning it to the ground, and killing the inhabitants. Jalen survived under some rubble, but wound up sustaining an injury to his eyes that permanently blinded him. Jasper, his older brother who was beginning to suspect he wasn't the only clone of Jastile Kai'el, found the boy in this state, taking him off Lothal and with him to the Jedi Temple.

Jalen wears common civilian clothes with bandage wrapped limbs, the wrappings on his left arm hiding a tattoo matching the numbers on Jasper's arm. A large straw hat is sling over his shoulders with a Loth Cat mast tied to it.
