Description: The Robes of Remembrance were created by the Jal Shey in accordance with the principles of their craft - subtlety, a focus on the mind, and an emphasis on awareness, as well as their products' trademark ability to be used by non-Force-sensitives. The Jal Shey created these robes as a response to the proliferation of alchemy, and especially Sithspawn, throughout the modern galaxy. The project had the following goals:
  • Provide a foundation for future medical and Force-based healing and reclamation efforts which may be designed to reduce or reverse the effects of alchemical alteration;
  • Increase survival and effectiveness rates for persons engaged in these activities.
The final product relied on a combination of Jal Shey crafting and the use of mental and spiritual shatterpoints common to Sithspawn, regardless of origin. The Robes of Remembrance have the effect of disrupting Dark Side-based control over alchemical creatures and beings, partially but not wholly by restoring damaged, flashburned, or purposely erased memories. For any given Sithspawn, these memories generally include greater awareness of what they were before transformation, what was done to them in the process of transformation, what they were compelled to do, and who was responsible.

The robes were a source of some debate between Shule, Aaralyn and the Jal Shey. Shule felt that the process of remembering one's transformation and forced actions would be torturous, though perhaps the lesser of two evils, and might not be backed up by sufficiently dedicated Republic and Jedi efforts to capture and/or aid all affected Sithspawn for purposes of alchemical reversal. In effect, Sithspawn affected by the Robes of Remembrance should be quickly secured and/or aided as necessary, and given all possible medical and Force-healing support. The Robes' aura has a trademark Jal Shey calming quality, but such influence cannot last for long after memory is restored; its purpose is more to assure clear-headedness than anything else.

Specific testing revealed the following:
  • When applied to virtually all modern Sithspawn, the Robes of Remembrance are highly effective in restoring self-awareness and memory, and counteracting various Dark Side-based methods of control, coordination and influence.
  • When applied to virtually all historical Sithspawn, such as terentateks, tuk'ata and leviathans, the Robes of Remembrance have little effect other than to counteract Dark Side control or influence.
  • The effect is most pronounced on Sithspawn whose transformation was acquired rather than heritable, as most acquired characteristics of biological alchemy involve extreme pain and very little consent.
  • The effect is most pronounced on sentient or semi-sentient beings, though even animalistic Sithspawn will quickly become aware of, and resentful of, Dark Side control.
  • The robes have little if any effect on sentient beings who actively chose their transformation and are under no Force compulsion; these include qo'saarai tuk'ata and Sith battlelords. Specifically, this means that when dealing with linked battlelords and Sithspawn, the servant Sithspawn must enter the aura for the robes to be affected; if only the battlelord enters the aura, his/her link with the servant Sithspawn will be unaffected.
  • The robes have no real effect on very-non-sentient Sithspawn which are not under direct control, such as the Zerek Strain, a bacterium.
  • The robes are most effective within a thirty-metre aura, though noticeable effects begin as far as sixty metres from the robes.
  • The robes' functionality is unaffected by the Force-sensitivity of the wearer, though they will not work when worn by Yuuzhan Vong or droids. Active application of a relevant Force ability will enhance the robes' effectiveness, and the robes can serve the wearer as a targeted Talisman of Concentration, achieving greatly enhanced effectiveness with respect to the robes' intended function, followed by complete exhaustion. Otherwise, the robes are not draining while active, just like with any other Jal Shey creation, regardless of whether the wearer is Force-sensitive or not.
  • As a side effect, the robes' wearer gains greater awareness of Dark Side mental influence, though no other help in resisting it. Wearing the robes can also help restore lost memory.
Apart from the above, the robes have the following limitations and weaknesses:
  • When actively affecting Sithspawn, the robes take on a gentle blue-white glow. This glow is visually obvious.
  • Furthermore, the glow interferes with all known methods of Force stealth/concealment on the part of the wearer. When the robes are active, the wearer cannot hide his or her presence, use photokinetic cloaking, use White Current stealth immersion, use mental illusion for concealment, etc.
  • The robes have no more resistance to weapons, shrapnel, or the Force than any other robes.
  • There is no guarantee that confused, furious Sithspawn released from Dark Side control will ignore the robes' wearer as a target. Frankly, they may resent the feth out of this.
  • The robes lose effectiveness the greater the area lost due to damage. A large burnt hole or a missing sleeve will reduce effectiveness; conversely, a robe ripped into strips and worn as Tusken-style wrappings by a single individual will see more or less normal effectiveness if it retains the majority of the original fabric.
  • Though the robes' auras 'stack' when overlapped (multiple wearers of multiple Robes of Remembrance can have a more profound effect), the stack effect is relatively mild. For example, a Sithspawn within range of four sets of robes will not experience an effect four times as strong.

Does this break control of a battle lord or just sith spawn attached to it? How does it effect the wearer in terms of personal force power? Is it draining while active?
