PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION
Jaine Callahan possesses the lean, athletic build common among career starfighter pilots. Years spent enduring high-G maneuvers and cramped cockpits have stripped away any unnecessary bulk, leaving behind a wiry frame built for endurance rather than strength. Her dark brown hair is usually tied back in a practical manner, often hidden beneath a flight helmet, while sharp green eyes constantly scan her surroundings with the same awareness she displays in the cockpit.
Unlike many officers, Jaine places little emphasis on appearance. Her uniforms are neat but rarely immaculate, often carrying signs of recent maintenance work or long hours spent aboard carriers and flight decks. A thin scar runs along her left cheek, a souvenir from an emergency ejection during the final months of the Empire. While not conventionally intimidating, she carries herself with the quiet confidence of someone who knows exactly how dangerous she is.

PERSONALITY AND BELIEFS
Jaine is fast-talking, competitive, and exceptionally confident. Some would say overconfident. She thrives under pressure and genuinely enjoys flying in ways that occasionally concern her superiors. While professional when necessary, she possesses the dry humor and irreverent attitude common among veteran pilots who have survived far longer than statistics suggest they should have.
Despite this, she takes her responsibilities seriously. Younger pilots often find her approachable, and she is surprisingly patient when teaching inexperienced personnel. Jaine understands that every ace began as a terrified recruit and goes out of her way to help others avoid mistakes she made herself.
She hates bureaucracy, loves flying, and has a habit of treating impossible situations as personal challenges.
Jaine believes the Empire's greatest mistake was forgetting the people who actually fought its wars. The collapse of the Empire left her deeply cynical toward grand ideologies and political promises. She no longer fights for slogans or governments. She fights for the people beside her and for the belief that civilization is worth preserving.
The Imperial Reclamation Authority appeals to her because it feels practical. Smaller. More grounded. Less concerned with glory and more concerned with actually establish law and order.

STRENGTHS
Exceptional Pilot
Jaine is one of the finest pilots remaining within the Authority. Her situational awareness, reaction speed, and understanding of starfighter combat consistently place her among the top performers in any squadron.
Natural Leader
Pilots trust her. She communicates clearly under pressure and remains calm during chaotic engagements, making her an effective flight leader.
Aggressive Combat Style
Jaine excels at exploiting brief opportunities during engagements. Once she identifies a weakness, she attacks decisively and often catches opponents off guard.
Mentor Mentality
Unlike many aces, she actively works to improve the performance of less experienced pilots rather than simply outshining them.
WEAKNESSES
Risk Taker
Jaine frequently pushes herself and her starfighters to their limits. While this has contributed to her success, it has also resulted in damaged equipment and unnecessary close calls.
Dislikes Authority
She respects competence, not rank. This occasionally creates friction with officers who expect unquestioning obedience.
Cocky
Jaine knows she is talented and occasionally lets that confidence become arrogance.
Limited Strategic Perspective
While brilliant in the cockpit, she sometimes struggles to appreciate the broader operational picture beyond her immediate mission.
HISTORY
Jaine Callahan entered the Imperial Starfighter Corps shortly after the formation of the Galactic Empire. The daughter of a cargo pilot, she had accumulated thousands of flight hours before ever wearing a uniform and quickly established herself as one of the service's most promising recruits.
When the Empire's fortunes began to decline, Jaine found herself fighting increasingly desperate engagements across multiple fronts. She survived the destruction of two carrier groups, participated in numerous evacuation operations, and earned her reputation by repeatedly returning from missions that should have killed her.
The final months of the Empire transformed her from a talented pilot into an ace.
With experienced personnel dying faster than they could be replaced, Jaine rapidly assumed greater responsibilities. Squadron leaders were killed. Flight commanders disappeared. Entire units ceased to exist. By the time the Empire collapsed, she was one of the few veteran pilots left standing within her formation.
Rather than surrender or drift into mercenary work, Jaine followed the remnants that would eventually become the 3rd Naval Task Force. There she continued flying escort, patrol, reconnaissance, and combat missions throughout the long retreat.
Today, she serves within the growing Starfighter Corps of the Imperial Reclamation Authority.
