PERSONALITY AND BELIEFS

Castor is a technocrat at heart, a true-born corporatist with a hunger for innovation and success. To many, his goals and motivations are eerily unclear, though he almost always seems to get his way in the end. He isn’t one to voice his defeats, and his enemies know that the ExO is never kept down for long when he’s bested. Castor’s most apparent flaw is his bitter humanocentric ideologies; While he tolerates and even cooperates willingly with alien contacts, Castor seeks primarily to further human - specifically, Etti - interests.

As ExO of the Corporate Sector, Castor governs with chilling apathy. It was under his stewardship that the Corporate Tactical Forces were established to combat rebel forces in Sector space. While his PR team denies it vehemently, many in the CSA believe him to be the progenitor of Code Zero, the CorpSec’s big brother hacker cell.

STRENGTHS
  • Wealth Unimaginable: Castor was a wealthy technocrat long before his corporation joined the Sector, and his ascent to ExO has only deepened his pockets.
  • Midas Touch: Where credits are to be made, Castor seems to manifest them. He has a keen business sense when it comes to investment opportunities.
  • Can’t Feel a Thing (+): Castor’s near-sociopathic ability to wall off his emotions makes him a keen buisnoand a ruthless competitor.
WEAKNESSES
  • Too Close to the Sun: With great wealth and power come responsibly, and while Castor is a diligent benefactor, he’s been known to bite off more than he can chew in his pursuit of success.
  • The Ends Justify the Means: In Castor’s eyes, no sacrifice is too great for success. His ambitions can come with high prices tags.
  • Can’t Feel a Thing (-): Emotions can get in the way, so Castor shoves them aside. Sometimes, they creep back up.
HISTORY

Little is known publicly of Castor’s childhood, aside from an unconfirmed leak revealing his homeworld as Dromund Kaas and his birth name, Jack. Before rising through the corporate ranks, Castor Crane was a bold innovator and technocrat. He appeared seemingly out of nowhere, wielding at his fingertips a mysterious corporate enterprise known as Hyperion Futuristics. But his machinations run deeper still, to darker beginnings than corporatism and secretive power gambles.

Castor once served the Sith as an agent in the field, though all records of service have been entirely expunged. Only he and his closest confidants know of his true origins, a closely guarded secret shared only with shadowy elites.

What is certain about Castor is the impressive speed at which he rose from CEO of Hyperion to a member of the DireX board, ultimately taking the chair of ExO from the CSA’s former - and conveniently disgraced - chairman. As the Sector’s head of state, Castor has proven to be a cutthroat business man and an even deadlier adversary. Several of the CSA’s more extreme policies, like the founding of the Corporate Task Forces and legalization of Grab Teams, were directly overseen by the Crane administration.

In present times, Castor has placed the CSA in a state of political neutrality that keeps the Sector out of trouble in the public eye while leaving avenues for private trade contracts open under the table. War is profitable to those with loose allegiances, and he is determined to exploit every banner on the battlefield to come out on top.
