Jaben's appearance is pretty unremarkable for his species. He has long ears, bushy eyebrows, and canine features, and light brown fur. He often wears a light-tan vest over a brown dress-shirt, with matching brown pants, and black boots with matching black greaves. He also wears fingerless brown leather gloves.

PERSONALITY AND BELIEFS
Jaben is usually good natured and professional with others, but he's got a bit of a temper on him. Make him mad and watch his top fly off like a malfunctioning astromech, complete with half-spoken curses and insults. He generally believes in trying to do the right thing, and he has a strict-zero tolerance policy for taking bounties on otherwise innocent people or children, and when he works security it's generally only for reputable clients. He may dabble in the occasional bit of underhanded tactics while gambling or smuggling on the side from time to time, but that's about it. He tries to stay on people's good side for the most part, but loves cracking a joke every once in a while. If the person in question gets mad, that's their problem.

Training received when he was a young man and further experience as a hired gun have made Jaben a very good shot with his rifle and blaster pistol. He's actually won a few shooting competitions.

Jaben's pretty slow to anger, and usually tries to find a diplomatic solution to most things, but once he's mad, watch out! Jaben's infamous temper may cause him to lash out in ways he'll later regret.

Given the often seedy nature of the line of work Jaben finds himself in, his moral code does little to make potential clients, fellow hired-guns, or more dark-sided/evil characters appreciate him. Doing the right thing may cost him.

Despite having more experience in stressful life-or-death situations than your average person, Jaben at the end of the day is just a normal person and there's only so much he can take before he gets overwhelmed.
HISTORY
Jaben Kirsoruck was born 34 years ago aboard a medical frigate somewhere in galactic space. His parents were part of a roaming merchant fleet that went from world to world plying their wares. He had a fairly normal if not slightly unsual childhood, always making friends with whatever other kids he met on the ship and at the space-ports they travelled to. When he turned eighteen he joined the fleet's security force and was trained in the use of a blaster rifle. Tragedy struck when the young man turned twenty however as a massive fleet of mysterious pirates laid waste to the merchant fleet, and despite the best efforts of Jaben and the rest of the security force to fend off the pirates, they were overwhelmed and the fleet was destroyed. Jaben's parents were killed in the attack, and he was forced to flee in an escape pod. Heartbroken, the now orphaned Bothan struck out on his own, buying the cheapest ship he could acquire with his meager credits and performing odd jobs for a bit before finding consistent work as a hired gun.
