Description: The J82 is a familiar design, often referred to as a Mare’s Leg. It is a lever This particular version is a relatively advanced model which uses electromagnetic forces to launch the shot. This has notable advantages. Power packs are lightweight and contain a great deal of energy. By comparison the black powder typically used in shotgun cartridges adds to the weight and size of ammunition. The power of the weapon can also be swapped between various settings regardless of the ammunition loaded. The lighter setting is likely to down and stun a target, rather than kill and it suitable to be used one handed.

This is a shortened version of a much longer scattergun, down to just 40 cm in length with a 30cm barrel. It’s highly manoeuvrable in small spaces, but has a serious kick. Davon typically keep its strapped across the small of his back as a reserve weapon.

Three kinds of ammunition are still available for the weapon. The first is a typical metal shot, at short ranges this can do tremendous damage. The second consists of a solid shell filled with Xenobaric Acid. Metallic armours are highly susceptible to this shell, but ceramics are far more resistant. The final consists of metallic flechette coated in non-lethal toxins. A solid hit will typically put a humanoid sentient down. Hutts are known to be immune, but smaller creatures could well receive a lethal dose.
