DESCRIPTION
The million-Credit question: what makes a Cestus Cybernetics droid the top of its class? What puts it above all those other ramshackle droids circulating the market? The design? The paint job? Materials? While aesthetics are all well and good, the astute know it’s what’s under the hood that really counts. Enter the J1 Droid Brain, the first of two in the Julianos-Series Droid Brain. The Julianos Series combines unexplored, innovative technology with advanced, coveted materials and an unparalleled internal structure to bring the droids of Cestus Cybernetics to the forefront of artificial intelligence and computing capacity.
The recent discovery of Xylen deposit on Aargonar opened up incredible possibilities for Cestus Cybernetics, who immediately established a mining facility on the planet. The valuable material makes for more efficient droid brains when used for memory chips, able to store far greater amounts of memory for a chip of similar size..
The J1 also utilizes a complex system of microsynapse previously unheard of. This system, which has quickly become a hallmark of Cestus Cybernetics’ droid brains, allows the droid to process information faster than other droid brains. Coupled with the presence of an advanced central processor, the J1 far outclasses other droid brains in a similar price range.
Finally, the paranoia of the Cestus Cybernetics board of directors makes itself evident in the final major component of the J1- a self destruct system. In order to protect their advancements from industrial espionage or copyright infringement, the Julianos-Series Droid Brain line comes equipped with a special system. Inside the droid brain is a moderate amount of highly corrosive acid. Unless the self destruct system is circumvented, a process only known to specialized Cestus Cybernetic technicians (and a royal pain even then), the acid is released, almost instantly dissolving the system of microsynapse, the Xylen chip, and the other components of the droid brain.
The presence of the self-destruct system is not common knowledge and cannot be triggered remotely. An individual must physically attempt to crack or otherwise illicitly gain access to the droid brain’s internal systems in order for it to activate it. Further, the self-destruct system does not activate if the brain is removed from the droid, enabling low-tier technicians to make replacements if needed. Removed brains automatically deactivate and subsequently require the assistance of a licensed Cestus Cybernetics technician to reactivate.
Cestus Cybernetics is not responsible if you accidentally trigger the J1’s self-destruct system because you were monkeying around with it.
