Its Time To Stop

Alyson was once again broken from her meditation, this was the second time in but a few months, for whatever reason everyone and their mothers thought it was a good time to pay her a visit. This time however, she was not ripped from her meditation like she was with Ra, no, this was a much weaker force presence, like one she would see in someone entirely uninitiated in the force, Alyson took this as an excuse to slowly pull herself from her meditation, far more comfortably as well. She eventually stood up, and did as she did before, putting on her armor. However this time she looked outside the window of her chambers. It overlooked the place courtyard. The palace was a massive complex, larger than any other structure on Merides, and the courtyard was less a courtyard and more of a small park, complete with trees and a lake. The trees were green and beautiful, it was spring time, the trees were a beautiful green.

She did as she did before, making her way down the elevator until she reached the landing pad, there she was met by her guard, who escorted her out to the pad, Alyson leading. This time however, the sun was coming up, it was morning. She lost track of time ages ago, she occasionally came to a high enough state of consciousness that she could assess a broad sense of time progression, but those were few and far between. It had been 9 years. She started thinking to herself if it was time to reenter the galaxy abroad. To search answers elsewhere. She had learned much through her meditations, but she did not find the answers she sought. The answer of why evil could win. If the force had a plan why did evil win so often? Is it just a part of the plan or is it something greater?

Maybe the answer was the force didn't have a plan at all, and that this was either misinterpreted or made up by those who came before her, but she refused to accept this, this was not something she would allow and it was not something she could even think about accepting. She had felt the forces plan herself, the meditation allowed her to see the force at work on its deepest level, and she saw that it acted on everything just as they acted on it, however she could not decipher why or how it did things, only that it was like a silent hand acting seemingly arbitrarily. There was a master plan but it seemed random to her, she could not take it apart. Maybe she was not supposed to, she was starting to believe that was the case more and more.

For now she would continue to think on her meditations, waiting for the guest to arrive on the pad.

Merides, Alyson's Palace, Undetermined Time | Gold

When Nilia had been informed of the diplomatic mission she was going to undergo, she hadn't expected this.

Most of these consisted of trade deals, of sitting around fancy tables talking to fancy people about what they wanted from the Sovereignty and what it wanted from them. Now, watching from the cockpit as her transport landed on this foreign, green world, she was entranced at first. Spring was a relatively foreign concept, but an entirely welcome one. So much green.

And, indeed, her powers in the Force were underdeveloped and limited, though able to be sensed -- Really, her Force bond with [member=Ar'ekk] was the only thing of note, that she had achieved, and even then it wasn't even her creation -- But those thoughts were far from her mind. Now she was deep in thought considering what she'd say or do to assure the allegiances of Merides' leader. Once the pilot nodded to the Senator, she turned to the landing ramp, which was descending quickly now that the shuttle had come to a full stop. Rolling her shoulders, Nilia exited her ship just as she noticed a greeting party approaching at the same time.

Just remain cordial, remain polite, and we will make new friends today. Easy enough.

Alyson stood perfectly still as the shuttle landed, the wind from the landing craft kicking up her hair. Her hands were behind her back and she stood tall and straight, almost like a soldier at attention. Once the shuttle landed the landing ramp opened and out walked a woman. From what she could gather she was a diplomat, both from the aura she gave off in the force and her apperance. What she intended to convey or negotiate was another story entirely, however she could not detect malice in the woman. Worst case scenario it was the ever close Sith Empire delivering a declaration of war, best case, it was somebody wanting to negotiate a trade deal or even better an alliance. She wanted assurance that The Sith Empire would stay away, they had for almost 8 years no but that was no guarantee obviously.

The closest thing she had to a deterrent was the old dominion battlecruiser parked in orbit, The Heavenly Spire. It had been deactivated due to fuel costs but it was ready to be turned on at almost any moment should the need arise. The ship also had whatever remnants of the Dominion fleet she manged to scrounge up during the collapse, all sat in orbit, like big metal ghosts. Alyson made sure to take as many Dominion personnel as she could when the government collapsed, they were given homes for them and their families on Merides. It was her way of giving back to the government that had given her people so much.

Alyson waited for the woman to approach before speaking.

"I am Alyson Halle, Empress of Merides, welcome to my planet. Who might you be?" She said in a calm yet warm voice.

I am terribly outranked.

That was the first thing that popped into Nilia's brain as she heard those words, managing a polite smile to hide the brief flash of unsteadiness she felt within, "It's an honour, Empress," She began, speaking slowly to ensure every word was perfect as she bowed her head ever-so-slightly, "I'm Senator Nilia Saavilin, representing the Sovereignty, here as a diplomat to see if Merides and her people hold any interest in an allegiance between our governments." It did feel a little odd to be seeking allies so far from friendly space, but it was essential none-the-less -- They could certainly help one another, she and the Senate she came to represent was certain of that.

Something inside of Nilia also, faintly, registered the fact that she was now interacting with someone who had a quantifiable presence in the Force. But that was a part of her she rarely tapped in to, and it didn't seem too important to dwell on. Clasping her hands in front of her, she continued with her small opening bit, "Of course, we're open to negotiations, and if you'd prefer that we leave you in peace, we are more than happy to oblige. We're here to make new friends, after all, not new enemies. We have enough of those." That last part, whilst a joke, felt painfully true at the moment. Growing pains.

While this was never her intention, Alyson had become a master of force sense, she could sense even the most minute changes in intent, detect the location of almost any life form near her, her senses were incredibly well attuned. This comes from 9 years of near constant meditation, the force flowed through her without any resistance or movment, she could feel the force as a whole in that deep meditative state. This had the side effect of allowing her to do that to a lesser degree while conscious, greatly enhancing her skill in sensing through the force in almost all regards. Of particular use in these sort of situations was force auras, which could reveal things like emotion, intent, and other useful mental components. Alyson could not read minds, no, but she could feel the thoughts of others.

This made diplomatic engagments especially interesting, especially with those who lacked the knowledge to mask their Auras. While the woman in front of her, Nilia Saavilin, feigned confidence and composure up front, the temprorary shift in her aura implied otherwise, it showed that she was almost taken aback by her introduction. However she soon seemed to regain her internal composure, before continuing her introduction. She would have to learn more about this person they seemed to be rather interesting beyond the boring diplomatic outside.

"No need to be afraid, I dont bite." She said with a smirk. "I want to learn more about this Sovereignty, if you will excuse me I have been out of the loop for slightly under a decade now, you know these kind of things happen when you are so far out. Come with me, this is not exactly the ideal place to discuss these things." She said, making an ordered heel turn, and begun walking towards the palace. Her guards followed in toe.

After a few minutes, they reached an elevator, loading in, the elevator went to one of the many many floors that the palace consisted of, after awhile, they reached the garden. Normally she preferred the courtyard, but today, the garden felt like the better pick on such a nice spring day. The winter was long and harsh, the people down in the city were probably preparing for the Festival of Life down below. From the feeling she got through the force and through the temperature, it was sometime in the middle of Warming, the garden was once again in its natural green state. Various flowers, plants, and trees collected from all around Merides, some for their beauty, others for their culinary value, the entire place was a gardeners paradise.

In the center of a garden was a small square with a small fountain, it was much smaller than the one in the courtyard, but it was still very well assembled, around the fountain were 4 benches, and in the corner of the square, stone tables. Alyson moved over to the nearest table and sat down. Alyson then ordered the guards to leave them be, it was unnecessary.

"Before I make any decisions on allegiance I want to know more about this Sovereignty. What can you tell me?" She said.
