Aiden's expression softened, the humor in his eyes fading into something steadier warmer. He tilted his head slightly, the kind of gesture that said he was listening even before he spoke.

"Hey." he said quietly, his voice carrying that calm steadiness that came from too many battles and lessons learned the hard way. "We all stumble through things we don't talk about right away. The fact that you can even say you're in a better place now? That means something."

He paused, glancing toward the horizon as though searching for the right words in the glow of the setting sun. "I've learned the same lesson more times than I care to admit that peace doesn't always come easy. Sometimes it's just… showing up. Trying again."

Then his gaze returned to Michael, a small but sincere smile pulling at his lips. "You've done that. Don't sell it short."

Aiden's lips twitched despite himself, though he tried unsuccessfully to suppress the faint grin tugging at the corner of his mouth. The flicker of amusement quickly gave way to exasperation.

He folded his arms and leaned closer to Roman, lowering his voice in turn.

"Roman." he muttered, half in disbelief, half in jest. "Not every woman I talk to ends up being one of my girlfriends. Besides, I got to leave some for you right? Other than the stablegirls?"

Mid-step, Reina stopped. Roman Vossari. Of Ukatis. Reina's head turned on a swivel to look over towards Roman for a moment, a small frown on her face. The Ersansyr didn't say anything but she most definitely had a lot on her mind. Ukatis had been a planet that she had tried her best to contribute to. Back when it had been under attack by the Sith, and also rebuilding. Her hand went to the talisman she wore, before letting out a small sigh. It was also then that Reina also noticed Roman apparently looking for something behind herself. She raised an eyebrow for a moment...before she realised what he was looking for. And whilst he wouldn't see a tail, if he looked at Reina's grin she had, he would see her teeth shift to look particularly...shark-like. Though in the blink of an eye, they were back to normal.

"Michael's a pretty chill guy. You'd probably enjoy his company."

Another way of Reina being somewhat blunt. She had no issue with Michael. but she also no love for him. She was neutral to him. It wasn't as if she disliked him but at the same time she didn't care. That was her opinion on most people at the end of the day. Either way, with the talk seemingly moving over towards girlfriends, Reina started to double-time her way over towards the beach, doing her best not ot break out into a run. She'd rather not hear about people's relationships and be reminded of how single she was.

It’s just tequila and the beach
The blonde smirked. This world was part hers, one of the first that she helped to bring Witches to. When Roman mentioned Aiden’s girlfriends, all she could do was laugh. The Witch was much older that she let on, kept protected by the Force and a few… other deals.

“Oh, no. Not in our society would I be allowed to be someone’s girlfriend.”
She laughed and shook her head.

“How are you all finding Kattada?”

Roman held up his hands in a gesture of mock surrender. "Alright, alright," he said, grinning at Aiden. "Just looking out for our friendship. You always have ladies buzzing around you, and I wouldn't want to steal your thunder." His tone was light, but he was clearly amused.

When he turned to Reina, however, his smile slipped. She was staring at him, a strange look in her eyes. Then, for just a second, her teeth flashed, sharp like a shark's. Roman froze. He blinked, took a small step back, his boots scraping the stone. What the hell? He cleared his throat. "You'd probably enjoy his company," he muttered, hoping she'd get the hint and leave with Aiden before she decided to bite him.

He turned back to Brooke, his confidence returning. "You know," he said, a hint of mischief in his voice, "I think I like it here. Peaceful. Good company." His grin widened. "And since you can't be someone's girlfriend..." He paused for dramatic effect. "Maybe a wife, then?"

Silence stretched. Roman coughed, his eyes darting to the surf, wishing he could pretend he hadn't just said that. Unless somehow she was into that?

"Well, I did learn from someone. Given the amount of stable girls you have on Ukatis. I probably learned from you my friend." Aiden said as he gave him a small pat on the shoulder. And that was when Brooke spoke up and and a solid laugh left his mouth. He shook his head and looked towards Roman with a half smile.

"That's rough my friend. Keep trying though."

He adjusted his stance, glancing between them both. "Force help me, this is going to be a long day."

He gave him a teasing wink as he walked past and gave a respectful not to Brooke. "I wouldn't be too hard on him, he doesn't get out very much."

And with that said he followed Reina towards the water, giving Roman his needed space to see if he can land a wife, from the words he caught as he left them.

The light had softened by the time Aiden followed Reina down to the shoreline that hour when the sea caught fire in the reflection of the fading sun. The waves shimmered gold and violet, lapping against the sand in a rhythm that seemed to hum with the Force itself. He discarded his clothing down to his shorts, as he moved towards the waters edge.

He paused for a moment at the edge of the surf, feet sinking slightly into the wet sand. Reina was already in the water, her silhouette framed by the horizon, tail cutting through the surface in slow, graceful arcs. With a small breath, Aiden stepped forward. The water was cool against his skin, a welcome contrast to the heat of the day. He didn't say anything at first. Just walked until the tide reached his waist, letting the waves carry away the noise of the galaxy for a little while.

Alright so, that’s that.

“Wooo-beeep.” [Translation: “That’s that”? What are you? A wannabe poet?]

Anyway, I had to answer the comm-call to respond to, so I had to get going. So I pulled out a comm-link and put it on the table. I wasn’t going to come out and offer it to any of them, I’d look stupid if none of them took it.

“Weeep-bwoo.” [Translation: Oh for the love of Han!]

I have to get going, but my comm frequency is on there. If any of you ever want me for anything, just hit me up. I need to get back to base, it’s important, but I do get a lot of downtime.

“Weeeeet.” [Translation: “Hit.me.UP”?]

Why are you so weird?

“Chrrp.” [Translation: Pot meet kettle!]

Anyway, I left the comm-link, nodded to each of them, even offered a handshake to Porte and was on my way. Halpern needed me for something about a “squadron” but if I have time. I’m going to try and get a workout in.

Michael A.
A beach day is needed… if I had the time.
