Intent:To create a dedicated fuel ship and sell it. I can't recall ever seeing one in SW beyond a vague recollection of something massive from the clone wars and I think people like the Vagrant Fleet, Silk, and Arcenceau Trade Company would get a lot of use out of them.

Production: Mass-Produced

Description: The Isumaru is a no-frills refueling ship capable of surviving on the outer rim. Designed for small to medium sized operations, the tanker can refuel up to two ships in tandem far out in the lonesome of space or transfer fuel with a station/tank with it's own on board pumps and compressors. It's the owner's choice if they carry all the same type of fuel, or if each tank has a different type; or if they even have all four tanks. They can be detached and swapped out for different types, or they can all be removed an replaced with an optional 'box' cargo bay that can haul 800 tons of shipping. Not as good as some light freighters for the c205,000 sticker price, but still respectable.
Intended as a convoy ship while in unprotected space, the Isumaru is rather lightly armed for a ship of its size, instead focusing on armoring and overall durability. It's guns are there to drive off unwanted attention while the escorts do the actual fighting. Though the gimble mounted laser cannons are more military than the standard fixed, this is done to give the slower freighter a better forward cone of fire against faster ships. This is very much a workman's vessel, and it shows it in its rugged lines and function-first interior.
