    OVERVIEW
Isola Delaine was born a bastard on the gilded world of Hapes, the unacknowledged daughter of a Hapan and an Epicanthix. Her parentage was a mystery from the start, a question never answered, and she grew up in a state-run foster home buried far from the opulent palaces of the nobility. From a young age, Isola was clever, fiercely independent, and prone to starting fights, for justice, for fun, for reasons even she couldn’t always name. She quickly became known as both a troublemaker and a protector, standing up to bullies with fists and ferocity. Her Epicanthix blood gave her a natural advantage in a fight, but it was her fire and stubbornness that made her a legend among the younger children who looked up to her.

Despite her disciplinary record, Isola excelled in her studies, both academic and physical. She was sharp, quick, and determined, smart enough to earn a university scholarship by the age of sixteen. But she didn’t take it. Instead, she stowed away on a mining vessel bound for the Outer Rim, lied about her age, and left Hapes behind without a word.

Her first real mentor came during this time, an older woman named Captain Delaine. She was loud, sassy, strong as durasteel, and exactly the kind of person Isola needed. Captain Delaine taught her how to survive space, how to keep her boots grounded, and how to stand tall even when the galaxy tried to knock you flat. When pirates ambushed their ship, Isola watched her mentor die protecting the crew. The moment scarred her deeply, and she took the name Delaine in honour of the woman who taught her how to live.

After drifting from ship to ship and lover to lover, searching for meaning and never finding it, Isola met a Jedi Master during a freighter job gone wrong, who told her she was Force-sensitive. Skeptical at first, Isola slowly came to believe in the possibility of destiny, especially when the Master offered her structure and something greater to belong to. He trained her in the basics, showed her a new way to exist, and over time they fell in love with each other. And then he, too, was taken from her on a failed mission.

With her second mentor, and first true love gone, Isola remembered his words about the New Jedi Order, and for the first time, she sought something instead of running from it. At 21, with her former lover's lightsaber in hand, she made her way to Tython to begin her path as a Jedi, and venture into a life unknown.

  • STRENGTHS

    Resilient Survivor
Isola has endured loss, abandonment, and violence without breaking. Pain shaped her, but never defined her.

    Street-Smart & Tactical
Years among smugglers, miners, and rough crews taught her how to read people, situations, and exit points fast.

    Protective Instincts
She's a natural guardian, especially of the weak. When she draws a line, she means it.

    Quiet Leadership
She's not loud, but people trust her. She leads from behind, watches everyone's backs, and rarely hesitates when it matters.

    Emotional Insight (Reluctant Empath)
Though she hates being vulnerable herself, she can read others unnervingly well—and act with empathy, even when she doesn't want to.

    SHORTCOMINGS

    Guarded to a Fault
Isola rarely lets people in. This can leave her isolated even among allies, and slow to accept help when she needs it most.

    Haunted by Guilt
She carries the deaths of her mentors like weights. This sometimes clouds her judgment, especially when facing similar situations.

    Prone to Over-Control
She’s so afraid of losing control that she might miss chances to open up, trust the Force fully, or act spontaneously.

    Emotionally Withheld
Vulnerability is difficult. She deflects with dry humor, silence, or action, which can frustrate those trying to connect.

    Reluctant Believer
Though she joined the Jedi Order, she’s still grappling with belief. She wants to believe in the Force and her place in it, but doubt lingers.

Flashpoint Temper (Controlled... until it’s not)
She’s usually composed, but if someone threatens the innocent or betrays her trust, her inner fire explodes. When she does lose it, she goes all in.

    LIKES

Stars & Empty Skies – They remind her of the first freedom she ever knew: fleeing Hapes, standing on a freighter hull, seeing the galaxy for real.

Caf (Strong, Black) – She drinks it like it’s ritual. Helps her feel alive and steady.

Old Tools & Scrapyards – There’s peace in fixing things. Machines don’t lie or manipulate.

'Rough' Music – Low-volume synth beats, old spacer blues, or Hapan folk if no one’s listening.

Sparring – The clean honesty of a fight—no posturing, no words. Just movement and intent.

Found Family Dynamics – She’d never admit it, but she’s drawn to close-knit crews and Jedi who bicker like siblings.

Long Walks Alone – Especially at night, or in quiet temple gardens.

Starship Engineering – She knows enough to be dangerous, and genuinely enjoys learning how ships think.

    DISLIKES

Bullies – Isola cannot stand anyone who bullies the weak and those unable to defend themselves.

False Authority – She has no patience for people who lead through ego, not substance.

Political Games – Especially the kind she saw on Hapes. She doesn’t play, and she doesn’t care to learn.

Bright, Artificial Spaces – Anything sterile, pristine, or too clean makes her feel like she’s back in the orphanage.

Cloying Perfumes – She associates them with nobles, liars and her early foster families.

Being Stared At – Especially in silence. Makes her skin crawl.

Her Own Birthday – It doesn’t mean anything to her. No records, no celebration, no family.

People Who Talk Over Others – She’ll call them out bluntly. Or just stare until they stop.

False Sympathy – Pity enrages her. She wants respect or nothing at all.

Silence That Means Distance – The kind where something important isn’t being said. She can sit with quiet, but ironically she hates when it hides pain.
