Strengths & Weaknesses

(+) Strong Foundation: As a fitting sum of effort was dedicated to a "core" education, Isley is proficient in a variety of standard, Force abilities. It is, however, no surprise that he excels particularly in the areas of mental assault and defense.

(+) Magick Man: Having honed his craft over literal decades, Isley has ascended to the mantle of "transmutative master". His skills in artifact creation even rival, on rare occasions, those of his Master: [member="Rave Merrill"].

(+) Dead Eye: Of all the skills gleaned from his days as a Mandalorian, Sniping is by far Isley's greatest. Even without the assistance of the Force, he is an excellent shot.

(-) Getting Up There: Despite going under the knife in order to tame a few wrinkles, Isley is not the spry man of the good ol'days. His body just isn't as strong as it once was, thereby leading to a more passive, physical combatant in the present.

(-) Ocular Hypersensitivity: An unfortunate side-effect of his maternal heritage is a pronounced sensitivity to sudden flashes of intense light. Although the consequences of exposure are less severe than those endured by a full Umbaran, the experience is...less than fun.

(-) Addicted: You don't tamper with Force Drain and walk away unscathed. Enough said.

Appearance

Once marred by wrinkles and other blemishes, Isley threw an ungodly sum of credits at an esteemed surgeon. The result was much akin to looking into a mirror gifted with time travel. While his bones yet ache, Isley appears to be almost two decades younger than he currently is. His skin is a light shade of brown (and most importantly, is free of any signs of aging). His hair, a mass of dark yet loose curls, is worn free and down to his shoulders. He even, for the first time, sports a beard. And a damn nice one at that.

Underneath the surface are a miniscule sum of cybernetics, consisting solely of a cranial piece compliments of iBorg. In addition, when not sporting his Armor, Isley can generally be seen wearing business attire or a creative spin on Jedi Robes.

Biography

"The finest steel has to go through the hottest fire."
-Richard M. Nixon

What is tribulation?

For some it is utter calamity: a gross and sudden deviation from the comforts of normality. For others, it is a test: something that must be overcome in order to prove faith. In the context of man named Isley Verd, tribulation proved to be an absolute necessity.

After the Galaxy had finally awoken from the Darkness, a period of international competition took place. This was the norm: a game of expansion, maneuvering, and warfare. Yet, the manifestation of a single god destroyed the "status quo." The being, an angry Celestial named Akala, first bewitched the minds of many with madness...and then cast them into the Void sometime after. This was the event that spurned change in the life of Isley Verd. This was his calamity. Twice had he been reduced to nothing more than a plaything for the divine...and he vowed never again.

From then on, his focus was placed on matters contrary to the mundane. Bonds were severed. A cultural identity was shrugged off. A new name even taken, albeit briefly. Isley literally cast aside all of his worldly...mortal...attachments in favor of pursuing divine power. He dived into the arts of transmutation, pushed his craft to the limit, and ultimately had a tremendous breakthrough: He was just a man. No matter how hard he trained, he would never ascend to the level of Akala. No matter what he created, he could never truly contend with a being of true, divine power.

But. He could easily contend with the Mundane.

The efforts put forth in attempting to uphold his solemn vow had resulted in growth. Time spent away from bonds, away from distractions, had allowed Isley to hone himself into something better. He was no Celestial, but neither a mere mortal. But what does one do with such might? Does one squander it by hiding in the shadows? No. Does one attempt to change the Galaxy forever? No. In the mind of the Alchemist...in the mind of one shaped by fire and molded by a warriors...there was only one fitting goal: Cut down those who declare themselves divine.

And so began the Crusade.

So began the days standing alongside the Alliance.
