"It is as common as ice, but is as easily dismissed. It melts, it shatters. If not for the Spirits Blessing, we never would have found it."

SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Iskristall is a gemstone that behaves no different from natural ice. The stone itself cannot keep it's shape in warmer environments, melting and evaporating almost immediately.
  • It holds a bond to the Force, easily being influenced by a Force wielder if they realize it's there.
  • Also just like ice a thick wall isn't easily broken.
Strengths:
  • For a Force User, it's a mineral they can bend to their will.
  • It's pretty to look at.
  • When imbued with the Force it becomes hard and acts much like a Force Imbued Blade.
  • Also when imbued with the Force it becomes permanently cold, often freezing the air around it and creating a mist.
Weaknesses:
  • Naturally it's as brittle and easily melted as ice.
  • It's easily confused with ice and often destroyed or ignored.
DESCRIPTION

The Beorni were not the first to discover the stone in the galaxy, but they were perhaps the first to shape it. A now nameless Beorni elder was wandering the frozen wastelands of Midvinter in search of shelter, letting the spirits guide him on his way. They lead him to a wall of ice. Confused and cold the elder began to curse the spirits that had lead him to a dead end, only for them to make the ice shine in a way ice wouldn't.

Marveling in the blue hue of these Ice Crystals the elder set a hand upon the solid wall and felt all of it. Through the spirits he was able to shape a cave similar to an igloo to weather out the storm that had forced him into hiding. Once he returned to his people he showed them a small part of the crystal, and so began the age of craft for the Beorni.

Due to how cold Midvinter was and their own natural resistance to the cold they shaped homes, jewelry, and sculptures out of the mineral. Until the time of war with the Valkyri they did not make weapons from them. But when the drums began they shaped their weapons of ice and with the blessing of the Spirits the once brittle crystal that was too thin to be an effective weapon was made as strong as the Je'daii Force Imbued Blade.

When they lost the war the knowledge was lost for many years, but the crystals could still be found on any planet cold enough for ice not to melt on.
