Carpet Bomber: Over a dozen ventral ordnance tubes full of varying prizes make this a very potent bomber, something nobody would like to see flying over them or worse....diving
Wailing Fury: Due to the bomber's efficiency in surface-related operations, several sirens, or 'Jericho Trumpets', have been installed to give the ship a distinctive wailing sound as it dives on its enemies below. However, this does eliminate the possibility of covert operations.
Low Squadron Count: To cut on costs due to production of the munitions for this bomber, the squadron count has been lowered by a third.
Weak Armor: While its slim profile makes it quite safe from enemy starfighters, the armor itself isn't thick enough to protect from anything more than a few laser cannon blasts, despite the strength of the material used.
The ISB/S-47 is one of the latest attempts by the First Order to modernize its starfighter corps, beginning with a series of standard, tactical, and heavy bombers. With a slim profile composed of one of the strongest materials in the Core of Engineers' arsenal, the 'Scimitar III' is a highly capable surface bomber that excels at massacring enemy formations, no matter how well hidden.
Sixteen modular ordnance tubes line the ventral portion of the chassis, and can be filled with a variety of different munitions from standard thermal detonators to powerful proton bombs. Installed as part of experiments in psychological warfare are several sirens that give a wailing sound when the fighter dives.
Numerous other improvements have been made to the precursor design, the blueprints of which were supplied by Loyalists from the Galactic Empire after the faction's untimely dissolution, including the addition of a cockpit escape pod and two other crew stations other than that of the pilot.
