ADVANCED SYSTEMS

Strengths:
  • Massive Ordnance Package: The Demolisher carries a massive ordnance load, and a single craft unopposed is capable of dealing incredible damage to a single large target.
  • Well Armed and Armored: As an Intruder type of strikecraft the Demolisher is designed for extended operations in enemy territory. It has excellent armor and shields and carries a pretty impressive weapons suite to defend itself and aid in strikes.
  • Modular Ordnance: The nature of the ordnance tubes that clutter the underbelly of the Demolisher is highly modular and can be re-rolled to fit almost any bomber-type job. It can even be heavily loaded with concussion missiles to act in an anti-fighter role, but its mission is usually some form of ground or ship attack.
Weaknesses:
  • Large Target: The Demolisher presents an imposing, very visible target. It has a lot of guns and armor for a reason, and a wise opponent will test that given the opportunity.
  • Exposed Ordnance: The trade off of packing so many explosives onto a frame is that they are vulnerable to enemy fire. Should shields fail, concentrated shots onto the back of the craft can cause a cascading explosion.

DESCRIPTION
The Imperial Space Bomber (Attack)-32 'Demolisher' represents the peak of the First Order project to overhaul and enhance their bomber fleet. The big brother to the ISB/S-47 Scimitar III Assault Bomber, the Demolisher is designed to carry more ordnance and operate for extended periods inside of enemy territory.

As an ordnance carrying platform the Demolisher is nearly unsurpassed for its size. The same modular tubes on the Scimitar III are present but almost twice as many, alongside a solid battery of conventional laser weaponry that can be used both defensively and offensively, strafing ground targets or firing on weak points on larger ships.

In keeping with the Intruder role, the Demolisher supports a hyperdrive and large crew complement, to allow it to engage in extended range missions deep inside enemy territory. It lacks any sort of stealth features however, relying on its armament and durability, so its used must be carefully considered on a strategic level. Typically this sees it engaging in diversionary attacks, targeting infrastructure, or surgical strikes on airfields and land-based strikecraft.

To meet design goals the vessel overran cost and resource limits, and as a result is extremely expensive and difficult to produce. Despite being overall considered a resounding success of the bomber fleet overhaul, the Demolisher sees only limited deployment.
