ADVANCED SYSTEMS
Strengths:

  • Modular Ordinance: The ISB-24G is capable of exchanging its ordinance type within its bomber bay to suit the type of mission undertaken. Be it, an anti-capital vessel action, to dispersing hostiles while performing close air support.
Weaknesses:

  • Anti-Fighter Capability: The ISB-24G is fitted with anti-fighter countermeasures. But these are limited in capability, and designed more so around avoiding hostiles, and buying time rather than any effective counter.
DESCRIPTION
The ISB-24G is the latest attempt by the First Order to deliver a new standardised bomber. One, which while it may be able to deliver a precise payload, does need consistent support from fighters. The ISB-24G is meant to be as versatile as possible in the performance of its role. This means, that its ventral bomb bay is designed to be loaded with varied ordinance to perform any and all tasks.
The ammunition for the ISB-24G, is divided into two sections. The forward bay, which loads both missile launchers. It carries sixteen concussion missiles, or eight proton torpedoes. This is in addition to the six homing missiles stowed there. The second ammunition storage , which is the ventral bomb bay, which holds a maximum of twenty four concussion missiles, or twelve proton torpedoes. This can also be swapped out for incendiary ordinance, chemical spray, six dozen thermal detonators, or four gravity mines.

Aside from bombs the ISB-24G is fitted with a missile launcher, which follows the same philosophy as the bomb bay, as well as a second launcher. This launcher is designated for homing missiles, and compliments the two heavy repeater lasers set into the cockpit.
The ISB-24G is also fitted with a number of anti-fighter countermeasures, none which however provide a permanent solution to the issue. Chaff, flares and some small jammers sensor do assist, but are negligible. The bombers hulking size, and its lack of speed, and manoeuvrability provide a multitude of issues which cannot be resolved without the sacrifice of integral features. For that, the use of the bomber, in conjunction with escorts is one which is vital to consider with its use.
