Strengths And Weaknesses
  • Strengths:
The Greatest Show On Lithios; Isamu is a showman, and works as part of one of Lithios' most profitable entertainment industries as a fighter. It may not be 'real', but he's still killing it
  • Hallowed Be Thy Name; As one of the main faces for the Lithios Entertainment and Gladitorial Network, Isamu is a world-wide celebrity. He lives the high life, with constant VIP treatment, which given the ordinary standards on Lithios is quite a feat
  • Made Of Scars; While a large part of his profession is showboating and barely landing blows there is still a large amount of athleticism and risk involved. Some of the moves he pulls out there can be extremely damaging to both himself and his opponent, and he's been injured on numerous occasions. Still, this just adds to his repertoire and leaves him as a genuinely formidable foe away from the arena

[*]Weaknesses:
  • Don't Stand So Close To Me; Having been in the limelight for over a decade now, Isamu has developed quite the arrogant and self-centered personality. He believes himself above not only his fellow competitors but also the every day men and women of Lithios. It doesn't help that most of them are living in squalor while he has everything his heart desires
  • Moth Into Flame; Isamu is constantly in the public eye. Every move he makes is monitored by the press and the network he belongs to. He is in the public domain, and that means he has little in the way of privacy or peace. It's difficult for him to get a bite to eat without being heckled or harassed by fans
  • Be Quick Or Be Dead; His career rests on his ability to keep up with the younger generation of fighters, to keep his matches entertaining, and to remain in peek condition. Add to this the fact that many of the moves used within the ring are actually capable of doing real damage, and at any moment his career could collapse. He has to keep outdoing himself, and he knows it

Pre-Roleplay History
Isamu grew up within the slums of Ethos City.

A dreary place, where it perpetually rained and the dominant colour was monochrome, the only reprieve he had from his depressing reality was the holoshows he had access to. Old LEGN matches which featured his favourite fighters were the ones he watched the most, even if they were reruns, and he mimicked and memorized the moves they pulled over and over again despite the fact that his mother was constantly on edge, worrying that he'd break his neck.

He wasn't lucky enough to have a formal education. Instead he and his brother Ikeda had to work in their parents shop, with the intentions of them taking it over once they were old enough. While that was all well and good for Ik, Isamu dreamed of bigger and better things and so he began to sneak out of the house before anyone awoke - hellbent on learning to fight and joining the big names which flashed on billboards.

For a few hours each day Isamu was taught out on the streets, in back alleys and the odd garage, by some old retired has-been who 'never got his shot at stardom'. A bitter old man, he was just as likely to trample the lads dreams as he was to encourage him yet his training proved invaluable.

By the time he was 15 Isamu had begun to compete in small (and extremely dangerous, all things considered) fights inside makeshift rings. Part of a small circuit, they were mostly funded by bets and countless injuries were sustained during each fight. Everyone knew the matches shown on the holostations were scripted to some degree, that most of the hits didn't really land, but out there on the streets they were fighting as much for the credits as they were anything else.

And when you had virtually nothing to begin with, pulling back their punches wasn't really seen as an option.

Eventually the circuit was shut down, but not before he and a couple of the other frequent fighters were scouted by representatives from LEGN. Provided with real training, and a small salary, they were groomed toward being a set of new faces for the Network which had begun to stagnate with old faces and 'the same old matches.'

Isamu's breakout fight was an absolute disaster. Whether it was caused by nerves or something else, he flunked one of the moves and damaged his knee. That should have put him out of the industry entirely if not for a whole wave of backlash at the very idea of it; apparently viewers had enjoyed something he had done, and wanted to see more when he was all healed up.

From there his career grew, spiraling out of control. Soon enough the boy from the slums had become a household name, able to give his parents a better life, send his brother to school, and see that they were set. He was known by his stage name, Tyketto, and soon enough that became a name he heard more than the one he had been born with.

He had made it, but at what cost?

Privacy was no longer a factor, wherever he went so too did the paparazzi who forced their way into every setting they could. Clubs, restaurants, even his penthouse in the Downtown, news outlets turned him into somewhat of a bitter man who found less and less time for his fans.

He just wanted to fight, and enjoy the spoils of his hard work... But the rest of Lithios had other plans. After all, the LEGN was the largest entertainment industry the planet had to offer.
