The Bombard was designed in the classical TIE-style and is a part of the IS-SSF series. Much like the Praetorian series it was modified in order to make room for additional fire-power. The Bombard is primarily designed to be a heavy-assault fighter. They primarily used for assaults and ship defense.
The Bombard guards, TIE-Bombers and Praetorian squadron leaders on attack runs. Usually using its heavy armaments to puncture through fighter formations, cause disarray allowing for the other fighters [like the Legionnaire and Praetorian] to complete the divide and conquer tactics. As a result the Bombard is slower than the Praetorian and less agile than the light Legionnaire. But it provides powerful defense for the other two.
