Iridium Bomb, Baby. [Susanna]

Just on the outskirts of Sith Empire space lies a lawless planet known only as Iridium. On this world lies a hidden treasure known as the power gems, stones that have the power of disabling starship shields by simply being within the vicinity. It is unknown how the stones work, however, the Sith Empire has dispatched agents in order to collect them for study and, eventually, use as weapons.

A small group of Tau-class shuttles descended upon the planet slowly, taking care to avoid disrupting any natural fauna, until landing. Squads of Imperial troopers departed from the shuttles to begin setting up a perimeter. After them, engineers and scientists departed from the shuttles along with Lieutenant Jerod Quill, a renowned Imperial engineer. Their equipment was carried and set up by droids. Among the passengers to be assigned on this mission was Kimora Min, agent of the Sith-Imperial Foreign Intelligence Agency. Her role in this venture was to report any foreign influence on the planet back to headquarters. Her secondary objective was the protection of the engineers and scientists.

"Lieutenant. Do you have everything you need?" Kimora asked the Anomid.

"Yes. Once everything is set up and the power gems are harvested, I should be able to find a way to weaponize them. By my calculations, there should be another meteor to hit the planet within a few hours. Once it does, we must locate it and mine the power gems from it." replied Quill in his vocalizer assisted voice.

Kimora glanced over to the droids setting up the research equipment then over tot he engineers. She walked over to one of the engineers, aiming to introduce herself to them. "Hey. If you all need anything, let me know. I'm not much of a scientist, but I know my way around computers. I'm Kimora, by the way. Agent of the SIFIA."

Iridium Surface,
Landing Site A

Their shuttle touched down on the surface gently, the landing legs creaking as the weight of the metallic chassis settled onto the ground, a small shroud of dark and gritty dust billowing out from underneath them as the hum of the engines whined away.

With a click and a whirr, the loading ramp lowered, and from the dim cavern of the starships interior emerged a small party of people, some of them clad in armour, with rifles slung across their shoulders or nestled in their arms, and others like Susanna, dressed in a plain, dark uniform with an armourweave vest worn over the top, marking her as one of the specialists.

The scene outside was ragged, rocky, and windswept. Angry clouds scudded across the sky behind distant hills, producing occasional zigzagging bolts of lightning, and the sky was grey and darkening, the sun having slipped beneath the far horizon a few minutes before.

Susanna Sorrows stepped heavily onto the planet, her booted feet leaving the machined metal gangplank and thudding to earth, sending small stones skittering a half a metre ahead. Dark eyes scanning her surroundings as other groups departed their own shuttles and began organising cargo and equipment. Her gaze moved to the shadowed silhouette of Lieutenant Quill, an engineer of whom her colleagues spoke fondly, before her attention returned to the job, the task of organising people and materiel quickly occupying all her attention.

Gesturing to a droid to transport a set of power cells, Susanna spun around as a voice sounded from behind, her eyebrows raising in surprise as she saw a girl behind her instead of one of the service droids.

I'm Kimora, by the way. Agent of the SIFIA.

Susanna didn't much like that. She hadn't worked directly with the Empire for very long, but she'd heard whispering of the Intelligence Agency, both as a child and from hushed conversations within the Power Bureau on Serenno. She knew enough to be wary of such types.

"Hello Kimora, I'm Technician Sorrows, it's a pleasure. It's good to have someone with some computer expertise here, the droids are hopeless on their own, and our Holo-network has been rather unreliable of late."

Her earpiece crackled to life, and she held her hand up politely to indicate to her companion she was receiving a message. After a time she lowered her arm and spoke again.

"Could you tell the Lieutenant that the survey team has spotted an asteroid inbound to our quadrant? It seems to be on-track to impact in a mountain lake a few klicks from us. We should be able to recover a lot of material."

A small smirk came to Kimora's face. She knew Susanna was right about the droids and their incompetence, but it was all that could be spared for the expedition. They did what they were meant to do though: hard labor. All they were really good for, anyway.

"Welcome aboard, Technician Sorrows. Pleasure to make your acquaintance."

Kimora looked up to the sky at the mention of incoming space debris then back to Technician Sorrows. She gave her a nod in reply then walked over to the Lieutenant once more. He could be seen reading through datapads ad tinkering with one of his survey devices. "Lieutenant, I have news. It seems we have an asteroid inbound. It's to be believed that it will land in a nearby mountain lake not far from this position. I will lead a team to collect the materials."

The Lieutenant continued reading over his datapad and only replied with a hard grunt.

Kimora nodded then returned to the engineer. "We'll take one of the transports. I'll be there when you're ready to go." Kimora checked her suit's systems then walked over to the awaiting SI-MCTT.
